Video - 9 (Standard every-day r5, based on quick flick through nothing to note on poor video. Seems to be without any problems.)

Audio - 7 (Again based on quick flick through is tiny bit "tinny" and hollow in the odd scenes. )

Movie - * (Will post after watched the whole thing)

Posted by silverhawk on 09-22-2007 07:41 AM:

from sample looks like standed R5 audio ok maybe a little hollow

V/9

A/8

Posted by Cr-critic on 09-22-2007 08:37 AM:

rated as R5 from a skim through
V-9
A-9 volume seems a tad low on pc using WMP but as avi on standalone to plasma its excellent
M-? will watch and update later

Very decent quality and jam packed full of action so i'll give
M-9

Just from sample :

Video is usual R5, looks good! Audio seems good too.

Has English Subs too, which makes it alot easier to watch.

sh!ts on 20th`s release(obviously) which came out the other day!

Gonna watch the whole film now.

V - 8
A - 8
M - ?

Sound is indeed low on this. Was easily fixable. Stripped out the .wav with vdub, used Sony Wav Hammer to maximize without distorting the peaks, rejoined. Quite simple...15 mins

Anyway, before fixing....
V=9
A=5...volume too low
M=8

V - 8.5 Great to see an R5 of this.

A - 3 VERY very quiet sound. With my 6.1 system turned all the way up, can barely hear the voices

The sound is find. A little tiny, but I didn't have to crank my system or anything to hear it. Don't blame the rls, blame your system/set-up.

v9
a8
m7 (ok, not great. worth a watch on a saturday night.)

yeah your right mate, the volume is very low, I have to turn my speakers right up to hear it. Easily fixed with Virtualdub

Posted by Mailman on 09-22-2007 01:50 PM:

I've wanted to see this for some time, I tried the 20th release and just decided to put it off. I'm so glad I waited as this release is great. The video is top notch and the audio is good, clean and strong for the most part. Thanks guys I truly do appreciate the effort. The sound is nothing to really complain about, it's all good for me.

V-9
A-7.5
M-8

Posted by NibbleMe on 09-22-2007 02:13 PM:

From full release...

V: 8

A: 5 - It is VERY quiet, i don't know much about audio, but it's as if the "center" channel is very quiet, so you hear music, explosions etc very clearly, but voices are extremely quiet. Without some kind of processing this is going to be a pain to listen to. Anyone have any steps to take with something like Audacity to fix the audio?? ..... I haven't a clue.

M: ?

Posted by jicjak on 09-22-2007 02:38 PM:

Am watching now. Video very good. Audio good as well. Can crank it up to a comfortable listening level.

9/8/? Movie so far excellent.

Is well worth while. 8

Audio is really low.. Even speakers on the pc at high doesnt help.. Virtual dub crashes as its a VBR audio.
So im trying this site and may help others.

Video :9
Audio :5
Movie : still trying to fix audio

Posted by shadowsniper on 09-22-2007 04:11 PM:

Really wanted to see this and nearly grabbed 20ths TS yesterday! Talk about good timing!

v-9
Seems perfectly good to me, usual R5 business.

a-7
Was quite low but not exceptionally troublesome. Just cranked the amp up a bit & fiddled with the EQ a little.

m-7
Good but not as good as I was expecting...

Posted by servie_b on 09-22-2007 04:44 PM:

I just skimmed through the movie. The video is very good and the audio is also good. Not low at all, as some say. I checked this on my laptop and I could understand everything, that's being said.
Maybe a codec issue for the ones having low sound?

V: 8
A: 8
M: ? haven't watched it fully yet.

Posted by surge on 09-22-2007 05:09 PM:

the audio is easily fixed via sony sound forge 9.0>effects>wave hammer (thanks to zman for suggesting it)

it does not take a "super pc" (whatever that is) to do this, it took me ~25 minutes on a 1.6 ghz celeron (it's only a 700 mb avi).

video - 9 typical r5
sound - 6 before fixing, very low and tinny
movie - 7 was alright flick, not one of the best action movies ive seen

Thanks for the link, the "regular" worked like a charm. I'd give the audio at least an 8.5 now, after using that .

Lovely R5 video. Couldn't find a fault with the audio here on PC, DivX Player or when encoded to DVD. Must be the lucky one.

V - 9
A - 8
M - Watching later. Looks good.

.Movie 9.5 thought it was a great flick one of the best for 07 imo.
.Video 8 Looked very nice on my lcd screen. ( streamed true xbox360)
.Audio 7 Sound was alright, little thin but desent enough

Posted by fmj on 09-23-2007 12:00 AM:

Not sure why, but the video I find is not that good... I've seen way better R5 video then this. No problem with the audio at all, not sure why ppl are having issues with it.

V - 7
A -8
M - Watch later if video quality don't annoy me to much

No more talking about your "down-ass" systems or big ass plasma or lcds... no one gives a fuck.

Comment on the release... stop bickering.. or eljefeoscuro will have to handle.

Posted by phloo on 09-23-2007 03:38 PM:

The quickest audio fix on windows systems would be using virtualdubmod and mp3gain

1.) extract the mp3 using vdubmod
2.) load it into mp3gain and adjust volume
3.) remux it in vdub.

All in all it takes about 5min on a normal machine.

Good release though

V - 8.5
A - 7 (Turn it LOUD)
M - 7

Not the best Jet Li movie, too many loose ends, but, other than low audio, all was well.
SVCD2DVD fixed the audio problem though and again, all was well.

Statham & Li are great on a second effort (first movie together being "The One"...wished that there were more fighting sequences rather than Jet Li pretending to be Chow Yun Fat with the guns. LOL

With BSplayer the volume is fine, if you still have problems turn up the equaliser it should do the job.

V - 9.0
A - 8.5
M - 7.5

Video - looked great.
Audio - okay. Did not need to modify.
Movie - Was great to see Jet-Li and Jason Statham together. They had one good fight scene but they should've done more. Very interesting plot twist. I don't know if the idea of Yakuza vs Triads has been done before but I enjoyed it. And Devon Aoki looks like a geisha-girl/alien hybrid.

A 9 ( pc speakers)

M = Great film, an action movie that doesn't seem overwhelming.

Good plot - take notes or it gets confusing/
