Oldies but goodies like The Wall, Clockwork Orange, Brazil and Rocky Horror Picture Show are great to watch while stoned/drunk.

Para would recommend Mulholland Drive, we were just talking about it probably being a better watch high the other day lol.

Most likely anything by Uwe Boll would be better stoned but then again I'm probably wrong.

definitely one of my choice flicks, it was just the right combination of twisted, graphic, creepy .. and j-pop.

Precisely the reason to watch it stoned

That and you couldn't watch it twice sober.

Another one I couldn't watch twice though. It was all cool at the beginning, but by the bowling alley...

Maquinista, El (2004).

Posted by CARR73 on 03-16-2009 02:13 PM:

Jacobs Ladder

Love this film, but don't know if being stoned will help with knowing what the fuck is going on! Worth a try though.

Another one great film like these - especially if you like mathematics - is Pi (1998) from Peter Arronofksy (Requiem for a Dream)

Peter is Darrens Brother, he made Pi with an extra decimal place. Most people missed it

Good wasted movie. : Joe's Apartment. Example

Best stoner movie of all time (imo) The Big Lebowski.

Posted by askou on 03-16-2009 09:16 PM:

And since suicide club was mentioned before, people who like Asian movies like this, might want to check also:

1. The three extremes (three different short stories)
2. Oldboy a *MAGNIFICENT FILM* about vengance and the rest of the Vengance Trilogy Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and Lady Vengance
3. Battle Royale (2000)
4. A tale of two sisters (2003)

Posted by Scannerdarkly on 03-16-2009 11:49 PM:

Waking life i've seen before but thank you for reminding me of it zerotype
i do wanna see it again.

Pi
Jacobs ladder
the machinist (Maquinista, El (2004)

All 3 i've never seen.

And yeah Jingofin

it's tough to make a group of cockroaches
synchronize swimming in a disgusting toilet appealing in anyway even when you are stoned lol.

Posted by valvehead on 03-17-2009 05:56 PM:

Haze, the director has made some other weird films too; Tetsuo Iron Man, Body Hammer & Tokyo Fist.
Mad Detective
Humanoids From The Deep
Angel Heart
In The Mouth Of Madness
The Serpent And The Rainbow
Most films by David Cronenberg or David Lynch

Posted by Neversoft on 03-18-2009 03:10 PM:

3. Barbarella
4. Meet the Feebles
5. Men Behind the Sun

Kinda weird: I've seen every movie recommended, in fact I'm pretty sure I possess them all - check the thread about storing DVD's to know why I'm not sure.

The only posts with any shows/movies I haven't seen are those by the thread starter...well, I thought it was weird

Save The Green Planet
Kentucky Fried Movie
any Cheech & Chong movie
Ghibli Studios: Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke
Heavy Metal (maybe on mute though)
The Fantastic Planet
2001
Animatrix (or the Matrix movies themselves)
The Wall
the Philip Glass / Reggio trilogy (fucked if I can spell them, look them up)
The Birdpeople In China
Visitor Q
Brazil
virtually any natural history on Nat Geo / Discovery / David Attenborough series for BBC
Dragon Chasers (French, 2008)
Metropolis (either the anime or the original 1927)
The Seventh Seal
DJ Qbert's Wave Twisters --- very, very highly recommended, it's on youtube, look now. On DVD in 5.1 with bassline it's mindblowing! (actually...gonna find the DVD and put it on now )

I'm quite stoned at the moment and could probably keep typing all night, so I'll stop there, plenty enough to keep you entertained.

Posted fucking 5am...no wonder I'm shattered. Watched Inkheart at some point as well - average movie...from what I remember.

Anyway, quite impressed with that post...wouldn't think of half of those straight!

Smoking weed...it's good for your mind

I'm a little surprised no one's mentioned Phase IV (the original) from around 1972-1974-ish.
