They have it listed as being nuked but judging by the sample it looks pretty good to me.

Someone said it was nuked because of bad resolution. Don't know if he meant it was blurry or if the aspect ratio was off. But the screen looks fine. Details anyone?

Yeah, juding by the sample it looks pretty good, although the RES might have been a little wierd-o.

Not nuked here any way, so I guess its okay.

I watched the sample and also viewed several parts of the movie from the few .rars I have downloaded so far.I dont see any reason for complaints especially not for bad res however if you really want to point something out it does appear to be very dark in some places.Overall I think its a well done tc but If your really stuck on gettting the best rls (not by much, I should say) Get the The.Island.TC.XViD-ASTROiDS. Its a reencode of this rls but they seem to have taken care of the small bits of pixelation in the NBP rls.

No doubt going from CD1 this release is very f..king nice, so why the nuke...Nice Telecine NBP...many props ...this movie deserves a good copy...without the unnecessary cropping and motion blur..

9/8/9 movie was great...saw it 3 times already..good job..

going from sample and a select few rar's

Bad Res. SVCDs cant be 16:9, only 4:3.

This is a pretty good job by NBP.
There are no sync problems, no cropping i.e.

Very clear picture, and the best movie since "The Rock" with finally a great storyline

And this rls is nuked yes. And i agree why;..rules are rules. BUT,..for me this rls is welcome. I watched the whole thing and it was very watchable

i dled the dvdr myself...i was just wondering why the other guy felt the need to comment on the DVDR in the SVCD thread.

Russian TC's released by TUN and SAOSIN before the busts did *not* contain subs. Russians dub there movies, just like the germans and french do.

Therefore the englisch sound is often not that good on those tc's (direct plugs etc).

The French most certainly do not dub all of their films, neither do the Germans. Sweeping comments like that are getting more and more typical of this place.
Anyway as for this release...pretty damned nice

I just have to say after watching the whole thing... the movie was damn good! I'd recommend this to everyone to watch...

Yeah, right. I saw plenty of untouched russian TC discs, not a single 1 had englisch sound, all where dubbed.

And yes, I actually know what im talking about.
Also, *almost* every TS/TC release (hence, even some retail's) that get pre'd with englisch sound get dubbed by the french/german scene in no-time. (If you dont believe me... why would saosin have AOS (german scene) and AAV (french scene) as partners?).

If groups pre this russian orrigin TC's cropped, thats because they got it cropped, not because they removed a hard-coded russian subtitle.

I still don't understand how this has a bed res or why it was nuked. The new "proper" telecine looks worse to me. It looks great to me... better than most TC's these days.

Why would you need to get another version. This one was f'n great. Considering what's been released lately (and what has not been released), this was a fun movie. Audio, video and movie were great. I agree with Eagor; best Bay movie since "The Rock". Also, could someone explain why this was nuked for BAD RES? I didn't notice any resolution issues with this. Anyway...

wow, this was a pleasant suprise. colors were quite clear and crisp, audio was fine, and the movie was much better than the critics said. all in all its surely worthy of a download.
