Same exact release as ViSA's except the timer is blurred out, not that. Audio is excellent though, but video too dark, might be sample.

Video: 6
Audio: 8
Movie: 6

Not much of a star wars fan but good movie.

Also not bad for a prerelease... WP or SCR.

Well finally someone sorted it out

nicely blurred counter, which lets face it should have been done on the Visa release, its just lazy to leave sumthin like that in

anyway its pretty decent quality and i would say its

6/7/9

this was needed badly by people who actually wanna watch the film instead of spend ages tweaking a lousy dvdr release

Posted by Da Postman on 05-19-2005 05:25 PM:

This is a nice copy, it's a bit blocky, but for free. You will not find any complaints. The sound is good and nice.

Going by the sample until i have the full release...

v/8 blurred timer, take it or leave it
a/8 audio is fine
m/9

i was lucky enuff to score free tickets to the 12.01 am showing last night.

Personally i LOVED IT! there was a few sappy spots, and audible groans from the audience, but for the most part everyone was silent and in awe.

There also seemed to be alot more humor, which made the 2+ hours, seem to be broken up nicely.

Like i said, i Loved this flick, now definately one of my favs. Die hard star wars fans were a mix of reviews, so some might find this weak, others will love it.

A MUST SEE non-the-less

p.s. not nearly as gorey as i had heard it would be....

its a nice looking release though

8/8/will never watch all the way through

8/8/7

Looking at the run time, I believe it's the same length as the official release (140 minutes), so I doubt we're missing anything.

The video is more than watchable, great on a tv screen and the sound does the job.

You're probably not here for the reviews, so I'll keep it short. The movie is more of the same, Lucas hasn't learnt anything new but he does a good job with what he has. The CGI-fest allows some fun camera angles but it leaves me a bit detached. The hokey dialogue is completely noticeable too. That being said, the better actors cover it up. The guy who plays the Emperorike gives a very good, fun and theatrical performance and Ewan Mcgregor is good too.

And I really liked the Jedi extermination scene. The music tugs on the emotions.

:: Hey did you know there's a whooole forum for movie reviews? Keep your comments to the release ok - D

Posted by xplatinum on 05-19-2005 06:03 PM:

Like ViSA but blurred counter... and AR fixed.

7/7/x

Any idea how to blur a certain area of the screen like they did with Premiere ?

Posted by stezo2k on 05-19-2005 06:12 PM:

very quick release, as stated it's the same as the visa dvd-r release

video: 7.5 pretty good for a 1st release, no problems apart from the counter which i'm going to crop anyway

sound: 6.5 could be better, being direct sound i expected a little better, but still good

movie: haven't seen yet

very watchable release

Posted by Sir Killalot on 05-19-2005 06:22 PM:

I have tried everything under the sun to shrink this. all I was able to do was turn it into a mpg. I CANT burn it to dvd I dont have a burner. I just want to know is if anyone was able to convert this to avi or make it smaller. I have tried a million programs and nothing worked. The movie looks better with the counter blurred out. But I am still waiting for a svcd. I'd rather have one with no flaws and one you can shrink so save space on my pc. was a little blurry at full screen sound was great. movie was excellent. SAOSIN CENTROPY TUN WHERE ARE YA?

7/8/8

::That's how you get banned, folks. No requesting from other groups, no encoding questions (we have a section for that) and DON'T try to make it all "okay" by putting a rating at the end that you probably don't even understand anyway. -K::

Posted by dopeuser8 on 05-19-2005 06:25 PM:

hmm.... considering the visa wp is the source for this,
obviously theres quality loss due to being re-encoded.
Visas wp wasnt as bad quality as I thought, bad AR was
the worst thing about it, Id rather apply a 'fix'...
Star.Wars.Episode.3.Revenge.of.the.Sith.WP.DVDR-ViSA.Aspect.Ratio.FiX-iND.tar
then re-encode the movie over.
blurs vs timers? well thats still a pretty big f'n blur!

Posted by bryehn on 05-19-2005 07:24 PM:

nice and fast recode, but that blur is too much, i'll stick with the low-res dvdr and fix.

CD2 out of sync

Posted by Dodgy Del on 05-19-2005 07:42 PM:

Thumbs down

This isn't he kind of movie to watch at home (unless its exceptionally good quality). This movie MUST be viewed at the cinema to appreciate it. Cant say much for this release though. The large blurred counters are annoying and spoil the movie. Get your pennys out and see it the way you'd expect.

lame atleast make it svcd.. a blur.. instead of counter..

ar fix..
and well nottin new..

visa did a great job.. and the dvdr is just 1.5 so i would get that for those few mb extra u get a way better picture..

8/8/dunno gonna go to the movies for this one

Does't look that great at all, but it's greatly appreciated by many. I'd rather have a nicely done ts.

Stick with the DVDR and fix, its same size. That blur is annoying. I sat in the 3rd row back last night and the movie was just one big motion blur, it looks better to me seen Digitally (TV) rather than projected.
6/7/9.5

Posted by rushtrader on 05-19-2005 09:40 PM:

I grabbed the DVD last night, watched it, then saw it in the theater this morning. IIRC there is one more scene on the DVD thean in the theater. Not wanting to spoil, I will just say that it the last one that was reported to be cut by Lucas in the trades. It is not a particlarly long scene, but it leads me to believe that this is a workprint from the penultimate edit.

Posted by BruceBanna on 05-19-2005 10:18 PM:

AR is still off, it should be 2.35:1. Should be nuked as reencode or stolen source, but then VISAs release was just a repackaged leak and not even their own source to begin with.

Posted by T-H-E-W-H-O on 05-19-2005 10:33 PM:

6/5/still no tickets avaible.

visa is just dumb for not bluring shit out. My bet is the guy who leaked this gets arrested within the next week.
Take note in the placement counter in the very begging you see "jedi mastering studio."

hrmmm, i wonder how many of those there are out there..... probably only one.

Thanks for clearing up the stuff mobsters, but untill i see it in theaters, i think many will agree that this isnt watchable. (well it is, but if you have good morals, for a movie this good theater is the only way)

I found the ViSA release to be perfectly watchable.Of course the counter is obnoxious but after 20 minutes or so It didnt seem to bother me.I downloaded cd1 of this release and I would agree, its pixelated and blocky.Far more so than the ViSA release. It'd be hard for anyone to avoid that outcome being that the source they were workin with was encoded improperly.Personally, Im expecting a tc to pop up some time soon;At any rate the workprint is a nice addition to my collection.

this is one of the best versions out the atm...so props to MoBsTeR

Posted by HeartOfStone on 05-20-2005 06:15 AM:

Not a fan of Star Wars and have not seen any of the others all the way through but I felt that this one was very good. I liked the visuals, but on one scene the cinematics looked cheesy (but it is a workprint). It's near the beginning where a big piece of metal falls on a dude, and it makes him slide across the ground which looks really strange. It could just be me.

8 / 7 / 8

Edit: This is very watchable using Zoom Player and changing the AR to 16:9. The blur is the only fault. Oh, and cd2 does go out of sync for a while, but in no way makes it unwatchable (you get used to it). This has been asked, but are any scenes different than the theatrical release?

This version is the best out there yet.

AR fixed, Overlaps from the iso have been removed (seems no-one else has even commented on those) and those large counters blurred, as best they could be given their size.

All in all a good release. I understand why some peeps want to see first in the Cinema, but I ain't a Star Wars geek, so this is perfect for me.

A - 9
M -8

Not bad mobster A-9 V-8 just for the blur M-9 going to see in movies it's just one of those movies

Posted by tigerwlf on 05-20-2005 10:09 PM:

Disc 2 didn't go out of sync for me.
At least watching the mpg on the computer.

Though I normally will extract the mpg from the image file instead of burning the image file.

Though I still went ahead and did some editing and re-encoded before I burn it to disc.

The blur isn't that noticeable after watching it for awhile, the only time it becomes an issue is when it covers faces.

Definitely watchable.

Posted by kingcyrus on 05-23-2005 05:26 PM:

watching this from my computer, sitting in the chair it was pretty good picture except for the timer blured spot but i thought that is better than an acutally timer, and the sound had to be turned up and down but it was no problem
