Pitch Black (2000) Unrated DC *DTS* *NTSC* - DVDRIP - ThP

Oh boy... When your NFO says the movie runtime is 81 mins (it's actually 112 mins), Downsampled - Yes, and the only things that was cut from the DVD are the 5.1 sound, you know your there is potential trouble brewing.

I was looking forward to this version for a while now. Unfortunately THP got to it first. I really don't know what they are thinking keeping only the DTS, when there have been flames of anger last time someone did that (PAL version of Mindhunters). Personally for me, 99.9% of the time 5.1 is good enough. But I know alot of people (including most of my friends) don't have DTS decoders. So this really is a speciality release catering to a smaller group of people.

"everything else is here" is another line that scares me. This thing is supposed to have a lot of extras and the movie is a pretty heafty 112 mins + DTS track. I bet this is not even a CCE encode. When it is a CCE encode, people make an effort to mention something as important as that in the NFO.

I am personally going to trust my instinct on this one and stay away. The video store is 5 mins away from me, I'll rip it myself. If the price is right ($18-22), I'll just buy it and save the 10 hours.

The movie is great though!! Not sure what to think of the new one coming out in theatres (Chron. Of Riddick), but this one is definintely worth a watch. So if you're not picky download this release, or rent it for sure! Older movie (1999), but still a classic.

Ya definatly a dvdshrink release no doubt, pitch black doesnt mean gray squares inside the black scenes. Total garbage.

for those of you who dont know, since you obviously dont, where to start...one the movie was rlsed in 2000, let it go...second there was a nfo fix about 3 mins after pre..which is prolly getting corrected as i type this...which states the runtime issue and also states an internal 5.1 rls will be done for those without dts...personally i have dts...so im not scared. i remember there was a huge fight in standard rules on whether or not something should be done about DTS, and it caused a split in the rules setup....so other than that, if you really want bitrate nfo on a movie that has DTS only track the movie and all the extras and behind the scenes shit, and making of the new movie and the anime movie...i think this satisfies your needs, if not, then yes, you should buy it...im not gungho ThP but ive seen their stuff, its nice, i like it...just sad to see people bicker over weak shit.. people this is the 3rd or 4th possible rls of this movie to dvdr, so doing it DTS only was actually good, its basically the same unrated movie, just 1 min extra and a shitload of extras to build hype for the story line and the second one in the series...anyhow...thats all i got...and rating, since thats why people are supposed to use this thing

7 video
9 audio - sounds great on my system
8 movie ....cheesy in some parts but good.

The DVD doesn't look that bad here. I have DTS so I even prefer it.
