winavi help

so it seems that every movie i convert into a DVD using WInavi the video is kinda slow at parts..it stays in sync with the audio but its slow..I use nero to burn it..any solutions?

have you canged the framerate ? try using vso dvixtodvd it takes a little longer (about 2 hours usally )but i gives very good results

best solution is not to use WinAVI to re-encode. not much help I know. Converting avi to DVD, or DVD to DVD, or SVCD or VCD to DVD is not really that simple. There's resizing issues (DVD is 720 *480 for NTSC), aspect ratio (the 720*480 are not square pixels like on a computer, they're actually either 4:3 or 16:9), sometimes framerate is in the mix (like PAL to NTSC or film to NTSC), the audio usually needs to be resampled or even converted (form 44.1k to 48k and it cna't be mp3). Programs that make it simple (like WinAVI or VSO or even Nero) do an OK job, but arent' the best way to do this. Controlling the process step by step with particular programs at each step will give far superior results.

the new version of vso is alot better than the old one. results turned out crystal clear when i converted mysterious skin to dvd, all you do is go on options and set min. bitrate to 4000kbps and max. bitrate to maximum and it always turns out great. it also copies the dd5.1 track from the avi (if it has it) and converts mp3 audio from the avi to dd2.1

its fine for me.

but i use tmpgenc for converting svcds coz vso makes the screen half the size, leaving huge borders round all sides of the screen.
