The TV Rips section goes "dormant" every now and then; why?

For the... man, how long has it been since I started checking vcdq? Anyway, however long it's been, I've noticed over the years that every so often, for maybe a week or so, the TV Rips section of the site goes completely inactive. No updates, no new entires, nothing for an indeterminate amount of time. First time it happened it kind of freaked me out, but I know now that it'll come back eventually. Anyway, this most recent bout of it has reminded me of the issue and I'm just wondering if there's any particular reason why it happens, (y'know, glitch in the update software, database is full, that sort of thing) and whether or not there's any plans on fixing it? I hope so on the latter; vcdq usually has the most complete listing of TV Rip releases out there, at least that I've been able to find on the internets. (both of 'em)

Umm... that's all I got.

The simple explanation....

All updates are manual (for all sections), the tv section can be overwhelming, and well... blahblahblah

It's summer, vacation stuff, real life. I'm sure it'll get back on track.

Jesus, manual updates? That's (to use precise, scientific terminology) a fuckton of entries per day. That definitely explains it.

Yeah, don't mind me then. Take a well deserved break from updating that beast. I can just check the new posts to [INSERT TV SECTION OF PREFFERED SOURCE NAME HERE] if I really want to know what's out.
