Exclamation Spastic Kippers' Best albums of 2007 list...

PAY ATTENTION!!! SMELL MY FARTINGS!!!

Here's my sort-of-kind-of completed list of Best Albums of 2007.

They aren't really in any particular order apart from the one at number 1.

1. Burial - Untrue

Yup, made this my number one choice for 2007. It's just absolutely staggeringly, mind-blowingly ultra awesome sheer geniustic total and utter brilliance. Shell Of Light is officially now one of my favourite tracks of all time.

Honestly, I can't stress enough how beautiful a track Shell Of Light is. Old Skool ravers will relish and taken delight in this amazing track and indeed album.

Get this album, even if you have no intention of listening to it, just buy it, buy it several times over else you really are a complete cunthead.

2. Roisin Murphy - Overpowered

Defoo get the 3CD ultimate set of this near perfect album, even better than her previous brilliant effort Ruby Blue. The girl has talent and this electrotastic slice of pop vagina action is well worth the time invested by your ears.

3. Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

Absolutely sechshual guitar CUNT ROCK. This album truly rocks out and in a rather fine way. It's sort of Electric Six-ish meets a bit of White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Beirut and Arcade Fire. Sounds confusing? It sort of is, give it more than a few listenes, it's a grower but just check it out ok?

4. Battles - Mirrored

I hate how this is labeled 'Math Rock'. If you label it the same, you are a knobface.

Great great GREAT album though and yet another tick on the 'well done lads' box to the crew at Warp records.

5. Shocking Pinks - Shocking Pinks

Another brilliant Indie/Rock/Electronic album that it's near flawless. Stand out track for me is Second Hand Girl. It has great commercial value and I imagine it won't be long til some of this album is used on ads or tv shows.

Get it listened to, it's brilliant.

Other great albums I can't be arsed to go in to detail about so i'll just list them

Les Savy Fav - Lets Stay Friends
Spektrum - Death At The Gymkhana Club
The Hoosiers - The Trick To Life
Duran Duran - Red Carpet Massacre
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Eluvium - Copia

Could name loads more but I won't...

As a Mystic's disciple, here is my top releases for this year 2007:

Apparat_-_Walls-2007-mCZv: 8/10
Best electronic rlz this year: many different style tracks but for the first time u can hear Apparat voice... Really beautiful electronica (even if u can label it pop), a lot of sensibility... Thom Yorke got a son now!

(only the cover is boring i know)

Pinch-Underwater_Dancehall-(TECCD003)-2CD-2007-pyt: 8/10
Dubstep forever: if u love Burial u will enjoy this awesome 2CD rlz: a massive album with vocal tracks on first cd only. So "Get Up" is hauting my mind the whole day! The only question is how deep underwater u'll dive during this playlist........

(This one could be a nice wallpaper)

Emancipator-Soon_It_Will_Be_Cold_Enough-2007-CMS: 9/10
Probably MY FAVORITE for this year (tie with Burial): a true musician and believe it or not he is just 19 !!!! have a look at his simple blog: http://emancipator.wordpress.com/
Very impressive mature composition, almost perfection seriously.... first time i put an artist into my ipod before listening the whole rlz!! Best Tracks: whole album

(the cover is matching perfectly music, isn't it?)

The_Cinematic_Orchestra-Ma_Fleur-RETAIL-2007-SER: 8/10
Another quality rlz for sensitive souls. No doubt the best album for this group since their debut. Enjoy Patrick Watson and Lamb voices on it.

U can also check:
Daft_Punk-Alive_2007_(CDVIRX224)-Deluxe_Edition-RETAIL-2CD-2007-BF: 7/10
Simian_Mobile_Disco-Attack_Decay_Sustain_Release-Advance-2007-JUST: 8/10
Burial-Untrue-(HDBCD002)-Retail-2007-pyt: 9/10 (my best dubstep experience ever, for not saying experience only :P: thk u Burial) u can also enjoy "Unite" track on VA-Box_Of_Dub_Dubstep_And_Future_Dub-2007-vod rlz and his "Where is home" remix (on Bloc party- Flux vinyl)

On the Indie side i do enjoy:
Angus_And_Julia_Stone-A_Book_Like_This-2007-uF: 7/10
Arcade_Fire-Neon_Bible-(Proper)-2007-RTB: 8/10
The_Shins-Wincing_the_Night_Away-Promo-2007-JUST: 8/10

Thk u Mystic for sharing

The Burial album is interesting, but not blowing me away. Grabbed it a while back and I'm not really convinced by dubstep yet, but I'm happy to give it another go.

Quite liking Klute - Emperors New Clothes at the moment, a nice two discer. Also the insanity that Nintendocore idiots HORSE THE BAND provide is always welcome, I'm sure that was this year anyway. I don't remember what else came out this year to be honest, the new Sigur Ros was good but not as good as Takk which was just sublime. New 'Blue Scholars' album was tasty too, and I need to grab Metabeats when I can find it.

edit: oh that Of Montreal band you mentioned, by description alone will most likely be my most hated band ever

I have both of these. Only got them recently though so haven't been able to fully appreciate them yet but do agree they are both brilliant albums.

The Pinch album in particular is very good!

Sluts, it took me a while to fully appreciate the Burial album, some of it a bit too inaccessible at first. Soon as I hit that Shell Of Light track though I was sold. Still can't stop going on about it, not in years have I been so blown away by one track, for me that is an all-timer track, i'll never tire of it.

I picked up the first Burial album the other day too and absolutely loved it but found it harder to get in to than Untrue. Night Bus is probably my favourite track on the first album.

Here's another good bunch of albums i'd recommend. Picked these up recently. Nice mix of electronica, indie, rock and pop.

Kamchatka - Volume II
Gui Boratto - Chromophobia <-- Listen to the track 'Gate 7' first. The mid-section is absolutely nut-bustingly brilliant!
Boxcutter - Glyphic
Disrupt - Foundation Bit
LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver

Sluts, here is a great compilation too. CD2 has an awesome Mix CD.

VA - 10 Tons Heavy (2CD)
