I think ConvertX offers more options and it's updated more often... Dunno about the quality but my Mum never complains when I use ConvertX to do her some movies

I think they're both transcoders though, so you ARE going to lose some image quality... Why not output the PC to the TV or get a cheap-ass DVD player with xvid playback?

It depends mostly on the input file, ive not noticed much loss with convertxtofdvd but if the original file is shit the output will be too.
