Damn this is the fastest release of a screener for a movie I have ever seen.

What a fucking blocky ass encode. 16:9, i would have prefered 2.35:1 but thats not the grp's problem.

the encode though, is. poor job HLS, ive come to expect better.

Dont know about it being a dvd scr looks more like a first gen vhs

Only had a quick scan but looks good
Did'nt notice any black and white scenes
but saw the odd
This screening copy is the property of paramount pictures
But its right at the bottom and wont cause any real distraction

Quality looks great to me! If you want to change the so called Blockyness just append together with Virtudub and run the avi thru Mpeg4 Modifier to get the aspect ratio of 2.50:1. Might make it better anyhow.

Movie looks really great!

considering this movie came out within a week, damn i cant complain about this qulaity

WTF is with the end of this flick? I didnt get the shit about the Jap chick and the balcony. And how did the mexican tie into anything? im so lost. i smoke to much weed

I saw this movie in theatres and it was insane. I could barely make sense of most scenes. The part where they do ecstasy...umm.

I was busy texting during this movie and being a jackass that I missed some crucial plot points...which totally screwed up the movie for me! I'm not quite sure what was going on. Either the movie was really confusing or I'm a complete idiot [or both].

I really enjoyed the quality of this release, as a DVD source it might be a bit off, but compared to a TS...WOW! Great color and sound, can't really complain I feel.

Why pay?

Re: "rushed quality" of these releases:

Remember that we're talking about Academy Screeners here, folks. These are likely not even DVDs as we know them-- more likely the proprietary format that the MPAA introduced a year or two ago. I'll bet that these are caps and not true DVD rips. Given that every year or so someone ends up in jail over screeners I'm grateful for the risks the release groups (like HLS) take in bringing these rips our way....

Good Movie. A LOT better than Crash. Frankly, Crash didn't impress me. This was interesting... The end well.. it leaves you wondering....which is good and bad... not sure if I like tha tso much in a movie but it was well put together.

Video is kind of blocky, but hell it looks like a 1st gen vhs... so whether its a low quality dvdscr or mislabeled vhs, it's watchable.... the pixelation is a bit annoying but you get used to it.

One thing I wonder, so did they bag and tag t he kid who was shot or did they "save" him.. it really doesn't say I guess.......I assume he died???

For a 2CD encode from a DVD source I think there could have been clearer video and 5.1 audio. Its still quite watchable and I did enjoy the movie so thanks to HLS for the early chance to see it.

In my opinion if a drastically better quality rip of this movie could be done in much less space then I think that could be a reason for 'proper'ing it, even if scene rules say otherwise. Worth waiting for a better quality DVDRIP ...

Brad and the Girl were in Morroco to get away from people. Basically a vacation. They were traveling and wanted to be alone as it said in the beginning. Well when they were on the bus, the moroccan kids shot them with the gun from the jap man. The jap had traveled there to hunt. The story about the mother was a sub plot. I took it to be that she lied to the cop, because she was thinking of jumping.... It would be hard to lie about her mother's death =P. As for the Mexican and the Kids... well those were Brad's kid.

Basically, it just shows how 6 people's lives tie into everyone elses around the world. Butterfly effect kind of deal. How one person's actions can effect another.

Audio is pretty good. video is very blocky/choppy, but definately watchable. No b/w scenes and only small print at bottom every now and then. Not noticable.

i cant believe im the only one who thinks this movie will win the main event at the oscars....it had me from start to finish.....10 for movie.....7 audio.....7 for pic.....

brettp, i think this film's ''lack' of u.s.a box office despite it's getting a decent number of screens/having couple of big stars/and getting a bit of a push(maybe pushed too soon.would it have worked better to have keep limited/build word of mouth and than give the big push ??) will hurt it chances for a best picture win....or even a nom ???


i think it will have better chance in actor/actress/director type noms...

With a screener source, the quality should be so much better. Forgetting the source, everything is acceptable, watchable, enjoyable, great. Movie was very unique, I will give no spoilers. Wait, everyone already spoiled it. STFU or hide your spoilers well.

This movie is a must see!

Not the best screener, but absolutely good watch able. I watched the movie on a big plasma screen and there wasn’t a single moment that I was distracted because of the quality. Not a very good, but good release (V7, A7).

The movie couldn’t impress me as much as others here. It’s not the first movie with this story line, but absolutely a movie that is worth watching (M6.5).

Either WE havent got a clue about movies or YOU! For a DVDScr its very good, not the best out there but very very easy to watch.
If you ctrl+deletes the movie then there must be something wrong with your eyes.....
