-- Kill Bill: Volume 1 - WORKPRINT - FastTrackMovies (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=29645)

Posted by Mystic Slippe on 10-09-2003 02:00 PM:

Yes it really is real. Yeah it's on P2P. Go look for it.

Audio is actually rather great. Video is ok, a lot better than most WP's. It is just like the Jay & Silent Bob WP in it has reel change countdown timers.

7/8/X

Posted by Stonecoldfreak1 on 10-09-2003 02:32 PM:

hmmm i was wondering if it would ever make it on VCDQ... anyway i got this last night prolly gonna see it when i get home from school

7/7/?

Posted by EclipseGSX on 10-09-2003 03:21 PM:

7.5/8.5/?

Video: Very good for a workprint -- I'd like to see the original source so I could judge the encoding effort, but it's 100% watchable.

Audio: Great even running through my surround sound (which is very susceptible to hissing on non-HQ releases).

:: Don't talk about group affiliation here. It's really stupid. -K::

Posted by danih on 10-09-2003 03:32 PM:

As with many other workprints, does this one have uncompleted CGI effects (eg The Hulk) or obvious editing issues (eg. blue screen in shots, cameras in shots, bloopers).

Regards
Daniel

Posted by d0l3m1t3 on 10-09-2003 04:17 PM:

Good job listing that URL, everyone needs it. (sarcasm)

The copy floating on THAT site (post will probably be edited) is a pal spec vcd mpg, 352x288, video quality is a little blotched and grainy, but for a pre wp, this is wonderful. the only thing better (now, not waiting for a dvd scr) would be a svcd version of this, but the quality's too good to wait too long for a reencode. scenes are complete, audio and video is good and clear, no bad mpeg errors from what i saw. very sexy, many many kudos to FastTrack.

Posted by avsluijs on 10-09-2003 04:24 PM:

Tarantino doesn't use CGI and blue screens so obviously they can not be in a workprint.

Posted by ewfbootlegga on 10-09-2003 04:26 PM:

Would feel much more comfortable about this release if mysticslippers wasn't the first to post and then all newbies after that.

Well I hope its real but not expecting much.

Posted by kaliecious on 10-09-2003 04:49 PM:

It is real I found it on ... but of course I am sure the source is from .... and I bet it will soon be around ..... gawd darn what is with all the letters

:: We do NOT talk about where you find releases here. -K::

Posted by Neversoft on 10-09-2003 04:57 PM:

Seriously folks, it's 100% honest-to-god real. Mystic wasn't shitting you... It's a 1.2gb mpeg that you'll have to split yourselves to create VCD's from it.

The video is fairly good, audio is damned nice, I aint got the full movie yet (damned P2P) so I can't comment on that other than to say "I *think* it's going to be awesome"

Anyway, this will probably get a scene release very soon. In the meantime I'm off to scrub myself with bleach, downloading this via P2P has made me feel dirty

Overall: 6/8/10-ish??

P.S. To all of you gimps, PM'ing me for this and other shit... DON'T!!

Posted by lax01 on 10-09-2003 05:03 PM:

I saw this last night and took a risk. I got the first 20 minutes and stopped it to see if it was legit. It seemed like it was Kill Bill so I let it finish. Finished it this morning and I won't even take a peak (since I already know its real) till after Friday night at 9:40 when I goto see KILL BILL IN A REAL THEATER!

Go see this movie, I know me and mystic are not the only ones incredibly excited about this movie.

Those wondering about the WP quality, it looks like a screener, the counter goes off after a minute or so during the opening credits. credits are final, music and sfx are complete, there's a few beeps in the audio (reel changes, probably, nothing bad), but no red sweeps or other typical unfinished WP traits. That's from watching the first 15 minutes. Wish I could watch the rest now, it's been everything I've been waiting for in a new QT movie so far, and even for VCD, the release does the movie justice

Posted by fuzmixman on 10-09-2003 06:16 PM:

ah the wonders of FT. lmao

d/lin it now.. there is also an avi of it.. but i dont know that its legit yet

Posted by thorell on 10-09-2003 07:19 PM:

nice workprint, audio is pretty good, video is OK...

The funny part about this rls, is that FTM rlsed a official .bittorrent

Posted by d0l3m1t3 on 10-09-2003 07:22 PM:

Windows Media Player 6/7, PowerDVD 5, TMPGenc all worked fine for me with it. Using TMPGenc, I think I split it at 57:38.00 (or maybe 57:28.00 or so) where the "One Month Later" transition is.

Posted by badboyz on 10-09-2003 07:45 PM:

decent audio/video

6/6/??

Posted by BlueStar on 10-09-2003 08:01 PM:

Hope this does get a scene release because the 'alternate' method of getting it gives me blistering speeds of 0.5k per sec.

@dopeuser8: watched it with bsplayer and had no problems at all...

My sentiments exactly. There's no way that Opium had it first... seeing as how FTM had it early yesterday. I was just waiting for it to show up here.

ouch that must feel sore when all them joe blogs p2p users got it first, i noticed the attitude round here sucked about that certain network, not that its there as much as its on the other network the one that sounds tit borrent .. and its prolly creepin through the ed2k network too do ya hate them as much?

oh yeah kazaa does suck if you dont have a clue how to use the network... ie dont use kazaa use the other non sharman networks version and use sig2dat... noted it is still flawed compared to a certain network that is represented by a shrunken horse

but hey ya cant have everything....

oh from them hated people who run sites that index files on "fasttrack"

lol jk but ya should be happy that its so easily available.
i know i am.

Posted by labrat1 on 10-09-2003 11:04 PM:

mystic thought it was fake... mystic was wrong

people that arent part of a group do homemade stuff and release it on p2p

Ive seen a few things pop up on p2p stuff that never made it to here

any way back to the topic

one word... yay

8/8/havent seen it all yet but expecting to be impresed

This looks allot like the J&SB workprint. There are allot of similarities.
1)The reel changing
2)They are both Marimax films
3)Both from indie film makes that made it big
Wasn't J&SB on p2p networks before it was on the scene too?

for a w/p the quality is good audio and pic is clear, i'm just happy to see it out there

Posted by pussaw on 10-10-2003 04:53 AM:

lax01 : OPiUM have simple repackaged a release by FTM.

No theft was involved , that is just your opinion cos you didn't get to see it first.

Awww ... looks like p2p does it have its uses after all.

Personally i couldn't give a shit who released it, but it went out on that network, as it much quicker to spread than any other network there is.

It's out and that's what counts

Audio = 8
Video = 7
overall movie = 9

Annoying that I have to split it but anyway great release. I must admit when I saw this (b4 it was posted on VCDQ) I thought it was fake and didn't bother but I was wrong.

yes p2p is great for downloading the same 10 porn videos from 500 people. i'm not sure how you figure its the fastest way to spread real movies though. if you had any idea how the 'scene' works you wouldn't make a comment like that.

don't really feal like getting banned on my first post so i'll just leave it at that.

no comment on this release, i'm not spending 50 hours on kazaa or whatever to download it. actually i'm curious why this release even shows up on the site since 90% of the ppl here don't give a crap whats on p2p nets.

Repackage or not, fact is, if the FTM version was a scene release it would have been nuked straight away - releasing a 1.2GB MPG is a major no-no.

But it isn't a scene release, and the only reason it appears on VCDQ is because it was first.

Any group could legitimately release a scene rule-compliant bin/cue repackage of the FTM version - but for OPiUM not to declare the source in the NFO is lame (IMO).

Posted by bryehn on 10-11-2003 02:12 AM:

i don't care where it came from...

it's a great wp, and what a fantastic movie.

video had an almost slow-mo feel to it...slightly out of sync for me.

audio sounded a little tinny, but acceptable...

LOL at the -M comment. Lets start a scene fund for buying FTM soap on a rope.. plus, the fact that both releases are encoded like shit. Regardless who was first, the frame rate is off. If FTM has a supplier and didnt rip this off someone else ( or find some moron to release on a p2p and then did a self - rencode before anyone else did), then they are relatively sad. I honestly hope that this group stole it from someone. If they do have a supplier, this group should be shot. You just put him in jail. For anyone who asks, serials can be tracked and I guarantee you it isn't hard to go down the line, of who has access to what, at that given studio. So hey thanks for fucking up more movies for the rest of us if so. We aren;t owed jackshit, but nor is anyone deserving of jail, due to your laziness of not blurring a serial...

Posted by jediwannabe42 on 10-11-2003 03:58 PM:

just finished watching this release. best movie ever. very good quality for WP. the only thing that kinda bothered me was the reel changes. It seemed like it happened right when you didn't want it to (plus, everytime it happened, the girlfriend started bitching).

Other than that, it looks good, sounds good, and is one of the best samurai movies I have ever seen....ever. I think *beep* would hold her own with the likes of Zatoichi and Lone Wolf and Cub. I can't wait to see the Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves in COLOR when it comes out on DVD!!

(If you've seen it, you'll get the *beep* thing)

just to clarify because sirhump seems to have confused himself along the line..(and embarrased FTM).. FTM is not a release group, it is not competing with release groups in any way, the "release" does not follow scene rules - if it did it would have been globally nuked due to the file size & lack of sample/NFO/RARS, it only made VCDQuality because someone deemed it fit to be here - it was never asked to be here.

to the person who said that it was 99.9% stolen from OPiUM.. you're a moron. possibly a bitter one. to those who say that OPiUM stole it - yes they did but so bloody what? they were within their "scene rules" rights however lame passing it off as their own is.

quote:
edit:: yeah, your also going to jail for not blurring any of the serials. fools. time to start filling your pants guys. -M$

shows FTM has nothing to do with the "scene" or how it works. rumour has it FTM never encoded it anyway so whoever did and gave it to FTM to "release" is probably filling their pants yes.

I'm just trying to make the point that this is not a scene release so lay off FTM.

Posted by Naughty_Sauce on 10-11-2003 08:40 PM:

I saw KB at the theater last night. Man, that was something else.

I've been checking out the workprint this morning (haven't seen the whole thing yet), but other than the reel changes the only difference I noticed was at the end of the movie. In the WP the movie ends when The Bride says something along the lines of "...and I want them all to know, they'll all soon be as dead as spoiler". At that point the "written and directed by QT" credit comes up, followed by the epilogue.

In the theatrical release the epilogue comes before any end credits. Plus the shot of Uma's face when she says "How did you find me?" stays in black and white except for Uma's blue eyes (in the WP it transitions from B&W to full color).

Those are the only differences I've noticed so far.

RELEASE: 7/7.5/10,000,000

A decent release. I'll probably get the best scene release when one emerges but for now this is good enough to split, burn, and watch.

Those files must have been DVD-Rs then. Any release on the VCD scene not split to CD-R size is against scene rules. Idiot.

Agreed. That's the point I was making earlier.

Back on topic re: this "release" - pic is nice, personally I prefer a widesreen workprint to a fullscreen screener, but the IVTC has been completely screwed up, movement is not smooth at all and this is bad for a movie with lots of action in.
