Judging from cd1, and a few rars on cd2 . . . this releases is almost top notch! Not bad for a new group! New to the scene, with a proper good release! Look forward to seeing more off you!

NO b/w, think there was a total of 4 scrollers telling u it was for academy consideration only (not distracting as they last only 20 secs or so)

Good release, it is proper all through both CD's 9/9/10... really liked the movie if you compare it to movies currently out there.

Considering its not even in theaters where I live this gets really high ratings. Picture is great could have maybe had better encoding. But there shouldnt be anything to complain about.

Big Props for this release in the current state of things!

Doesn't look like there are any problems to me, perhaps you are thinking of the NOX release?

Thumbs up

Watched it all and found it to be a rather enjoyable movie. I had no problems with sync issues or anything for that matter on cd2.
Glad to see someone proper this & fast too. I sure like this better than that POS movie Flight of the Pheonix Dennis Quaid recently did. I realize this isn't a movie that most people will like but I am one of them. I will be purchasing this once it hits retail.
Straight 9's from me Cheers

Everyone is saying they had no sync problems. For me both cd's were badly out of sync. I mean bad.

The video was very good though.

The sample is also out of sync, but not as bad as the mpg I extracted from the bin of each cd.

if they're out of sync on your comp, but no one elses then your comp has a problem. try re-installing your video and audio codecs. i've had the same problem before

nice work guys ...keep it up 9/9/8 stick around....

Posted by President on 01-05-2005 08:57 PM:

9 for the video!?!?!? Get real. It's a terrible conversion. It looks like the wrong kind of resize was used to get the anamorphic source to LBX, as you gets lines flickering all over the places, which is particularly noticeable on the opening credits. It's an amateurish mistake to make, but I guess it isn't surprising from a group that missed a massive audio sync on the 2nd disc of the first release. Read a guide, guys.

I am responding to the "proper" release. I didn't spot the difference in who released it, so I guess I can't blame them for the old audio problem, but the video is still crap.

Posted by dimalife on 01-07-2005 02:58 AM:

Here's the thing, as can be seen from the sample, the video is really flickery at places (where there are a lot of lines in a repeated pattern, such as blinds). However it's not a huge issue in the movie. The rest of the video was really good, as a dvdscr should be. On another note, when the scrolling message appears, the movie becomes really sloooowww for the 10 second duration. Other than that, can't complain.

If you watch it on a big screen, the problem is very noticeable in most scenes, but particularly in the ones with lots of detail or vertical lines.

As for the scroller, it's a sign that whomever did the conversion didn't know the correct way to do field matching on something like this.

All in all, it's the kind of newbie release any decent group would be embarressed about.

I finally got around to seeing this tonite.
Very enjoyable movie, had to think about the ending, not exactly what I expected.
I noticed that when the watermark was removed the sceen shuttered due to dropped/duped frames, unavoidable.
Nice work IATSE!

move was ok quality is about a 8, sound is a 8. i think its missing some scenes cause cause in tv previews where he throws something at the young boss it isnt being showed. i could be wrong.

Posted by bratt31999 on 01-14-2005 06:27 PM:

I thought the quality on this one was great. The video is crisp and the colors are great. The audio I thought was perfect. IMO the movie itself So-so.
