Not much difference between saosins and this. First the sound is much better. Second the picture is just a bit sharper. Burnt it to DVD looks really good. If u have saosins not really no point getting this apart from sound. Saosins had full credits this dont.

Short & Simple : SAOSiN's copy wasnt missing 10 minutes of the movie , SAOSiN's copy wasnt out of sync.

This Copy is the exact same as SAOSiN's a few days ago , just minus the glitch at the 40 minute mark. If you have SAOSiN's copy already and it *doesnt* freeze around the 40 minute mark (only glitch) , (or) your watching it on your favorite movie player other then PowerDVD ... there is no need for TUN's release.

Only time SAOSiN's copy will messup is if you try to convert it to DVD (authorizing it) that will cause the missing of 10 mins on encode, you try playing in PowerDVD media player (it freezes) , or the odd odd standalone player (it freezes) . As far as regular standalone it only glitches.

IRC dude, the SOASIN release wasnt missing 10 mins, but the glitch caused the movie to look like it was missing 10 mins. I would also prefer not to have a glitch that causes the audio to go "ever so slightly" out of sync.
So the PROPER is valid, but its not really a strong argument. But as far as SOASIN go, I cant believe they accused MoF/Tun/Meteor of stealing their audio on Hostage, lol, that just makes me laugh. I love the joke in the nfo comparing SOASIN to Justin Timberlake "Crying a River".

Good point about standalone vs PC playback.

Not sure if it really necessitated a Proper... even if people were having a lot of problems, a repack by SAOSiN would have fixed it easily enough. The fact that they didn't means it was probably because of the standalone thing.. that the film plays just fine if viewed the way it's supposed to be. That, and they were probably a mite upset at the whole telesync/telecine argument.

Well, since this is the same source, does that mean it's a TS?

Interesting that TUN's sample is, coincidentally, the same scene were SAOSiN's glitch was.

not much different video or audio wise then saosins' release. The glitch was barely noticable to me and didn't really warrant a "proper" as mentioned. Saosins' did have the credits tho so stick with that release if you have it.

i didnt notice any glitch in it. but then i unpacked it with vcdgear fixing any errors then reencoded stright to dvd. this one i really couldnt tell any difference. i guess people must have better surround sound then i have. i say 8.5's across teh board on this release.

Talking with a pal online he got a version that was SAOSIN that was missed the shot of Cube getting in the cop car and driving off but I got a version that didn't have the missing. So apparently depending your source for the film... you may have it complete and sweet or a version needed a NUKE.

... you'll gotta watch your source for stuff apparently. I still found that pointless as I found it WHOLE from my source.

Soasins version was fine except for a split second squeal in the audio...the voices didnt even look like they were out of sync afterwards...so all the people that are bitchin about a split second hiccup..GET OVER IT...it does nothing to the scene...

ok v-9 a-9 overall it sucked

Have any of you guys converted the saosin release of this movie to DVD and watched it, I just have and its missing 10 mins, it jumps from 40mins to 50min, this only happens when you convert it , but if watched with VLC media player, it just looks like a little blip and keeps on playing (very irratically though)

Props to TUN for this proper as it WAS needed.

I saw a .000000007ms glitch in SAOSiN version.. but bearly noiticed it, if u got theirs keep it if not get TUNS, so you dont blink your eyes and miss their reason for a proper. .LOL

either way both groups own the scene atm.. now stop bullshittin guys and hook up Star War's :P

Better than Saosin release which, on my really really really shit second dvd player I use in my bedroom (which is on it's way out) paused at the glitch on cd 1 and wouldn't go any further.

Invalid proper? T'is not mine to wonder.

Please review the release and quit bitching or some of you are likely to end up banned!

as for the movie:

My dvd player hanged on that glitch. Couldnt see 10 mins of the film.
Movie was ok;...just simple action. Nothing to remember but nice if ure a diehard action lover

But i found the audio a bit annoying. Had to pump up the volume to hear it decently

Well needed proper...cd1 was more than a glitch when using any version of tmpgenc to convert to dvdmpeg2 it cut off 8 mins of the film...right where it glitched up in svcd. The video is the same...just seems to be better and stronger audio. Overall its good to have a second option for the people who had problems converting the Saosin...only flaw to the Tun release is they removed the end credits....and it wouldn't be a proper telecine unless they left them intact......Tun....why cut them off...

8/9/8 movie was good just too damn short. dumb ass story, great action.

So this proper is valid to me. Thanks TUN.

hehe - I grabbed this to see if it was miles better than the sas one -
on my PC and tv - I cant see a shed load of difference tbh - and I never noticed any probs with the sas one on my standalone player - I did burn it as cd's though as Im to bone idle lazy to convert to dvd

Anyone getting an " invalid MS-Dos function" message after mounting and during the save of the MPEG2 to your HD?

Definately better quality, both video and sound. I have both copies and converted them to DVD. I Lost 10 minutes on SAOSIN'S
copy.

But just let me say hats off to both groups for delivering such good quality so fast. This is my rating of this copy.
