from the sample this looks to be almost perfect. the colors aren't exact, but for a telecine this is a great rip. audio was in sync and video is great quality.

Wow, thanx NBP VERY nice EARLY TC. Vibrant color and audio seems in sync. booming, full and direct, from sample. Also i Loved the film!!

Many People complain about your TC being mislabeled or subpar but I say bravo Keep up the gr8 work!!

Would be great if it wasn't seriously overcropped. Great job getting it out so quick NBP. Doesn't look like your usual mislabelled Russian TS.

Video: 7 (If it was properly cropped, would be a 9)

Audio: 9 (The best I have heard in a long time)

Movie: 7 (Could've been done way better)

From sample:
Video 8- very cropped, but an excellent TS none the less (this is NOT a TC)
Audio 9- sounds great
Movie: 10- I loved it! Firefly was a great show. This movie does it justice.

This is obviously a TELESYNC as russians make high quality TELESYNCS. Every now and then you get a nice TELECINE like The Island but seriously how can you not notice the diffrence?

Our standards for release have gone to shit and no one cares. CAMS/Silvers are now VCD.TS because silvers come with direct audio now ( yeah right ). The SVCD.TS have gotten a much needed kick with maVen and ORC kicking into gear. TELESYNCS are now TELECINES just becuase the torrent they get them off of is labled that. Anyone remember when TC's were actually TELECINES? I'm talking abuot Chakra's Hide and Seek * http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php...sample&id=48582 * and KEG's Exorcist beginning * http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php...sample&id=45622 * those were high quality TELECINES.

This is at best a TELESYNC not a retail dvd like some people think ( lmao )

this release is very watchable in many standards but why do they go and fuck them selves up by getting it nuked for mislabled TS, we're not fucking dumb, we can tell the difference between a TS and a TC in many aspects, u would get way more credit if it wasnt mislabelled, but a nice early rls and good work.

Firefly the Tv show which this movie is based on is a great show, and this movie is very good and does it justice.

This release is better than Centropy's imho.

Video = 7.5 - 8
Audio = 9

Even if they labelled it a telesync it would still get NUKED as a DUPE, so they label it a telecine, just to get on the scene.

I remember when VideoCD's TS of Lemony Snickets got Nuked as a DUPE just because some other group had released a low quality TS a few days Before them, but theres was the best version that everybody D/loaded, scene rules sometimes suck and stop groups releasing there quality stuff just cos someone beat them to the release

Im just glad thios one is the retail DVD thats all!!!

How quickly we forget The Great Raid. Another NBP release from a Russian TS that was super overcropped. I'm not sure if they chop out Russian subs, or what, but its way too much black bar there. Video is good for a TS . I don't know why so many groups insist on mislabeling. Sound is good, just like the last two TS releases. We'll be seeing an xvid release by asteroid, and a DVDR by royal right around the corner. Thanks for the best release to date of the best movie of the year. (even if it is cropped to hell)

The black bars are because its a 16:9 aspect ratio. Since SVCD only knows 4:3 encodes widescreen movies have big black bars on svcd.

ASTERIODS gets away with the same source TS/TC in XViD release
and they never get nuked for misslabled TS, and hey they always pre the Same Release after NBP! Same source or shared source more then likley!

TS/TC i really don't give a fuck! only ganna be nuked on lame DBS

Video and audio is solid, colors are a little off

I'm talking about the overcropping dude. Obviously 16:9 AR is going to have normal black bars. I'm just trying to explain why its cropped so much. Cutting out subtitles would explain why the picture is the way it is. I'm not positive, just trying to offer an explanation.

The cropping isn't that bad that I can see, I admit I havn't downloaded it yet but looking at the jpeg on this site the top and bottom cropping is the same as the centropy release and only slightly worse than fuck, at the same time it's wider so your getting more pixels overall, either way looks like the best release so far. Just out of interest if anyone has seen maVens video is this better or worse, i.e. is this the best were gonna get?

download it the samplea and the video is fine there is no blurenes or motion blureness but the drawback was the cropping other than that a good release

Checked the sample and it's seems very good except for a grid pattern-ish blurring out every few seconds. Not sure anyone else is seeing that, or if it's a codec thing with me?

yes i remember. i have a few like that "hitch" by MoF, "Hostage" by MoF, and that hide and seek one. i thought they were all good movies but i decided that the telecine was the keeper for all of them, they were just fine in terms of quality, same with 'the island' which im gonna keep the telecine as a keeper

Yeah, i miss Telecines like that too, and the 5.1 was always nice to have too.

This is not a TS in my opinion, the quality is too good, the Dark stuff is great, no angle that i can see, and it has the full End Credits, and they look great too, only problems are that its overcropped, this is about 2:50:1 and as far as i know, they stopped making films that wide years ago, and this is supposed to be 2:35:1, also its kinda blocky at times, more than id expect since its a 2hour movie on 3CD's.

Audio is fine, although it is Mono, but ive come to expect that recently.

NUKED: Serenity.TC.XviD-ASTEROiDS scratchy.low.volume.distorted.audio.multiple.times.throughout.film.CD2.
asteroids-serenity2.part07-part09.rar that speech by Captain is just One of the many instances of the horrible hissing throught CD2. And that extremley low distorted voice that is Very Very Incorrect..

Near DVD quality pic a tad overcropped big deal. Audio is all kind of fuxored however. Take a close listen to Nathan Fillions Character. Sound like he's underwater and what's with the scratching..Movie !@#$% ROX!!

Definitely a true TC NOT a mislabeled TS as the sheep may want it to be, sorry

More sound problems than u may notice at first but definitely NOT up to par.

Video: 8.5- tad dirty in dark areas. Bright scenes could pass for DVD. Vibrant and Colorful.

Audio: 6- Uggh that is just NOT Captain Malcolm voice dunno what was recoreded with but uggh..

Movie: 9- One of the best Sci-Fi in recent yrs.

The overcropping doesn't bother me, maybe because this is so superior to every other release before it. This is a true TC, not a mislabled TS. Huge props to NBP for this.

Not overcropped, just true widescreen. Many, many retail DVD's look just the same.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if you download it and like it, who cares how it's labeled? Seems petty to me.

From watching the whole thing:

Video: 9 - woulda been 10 if the upper right corner didn't have those dots.

Sound: 6 - hard to understand what people are saying some of the time.

Movie: 10 - Joss Whedon rocks!!!

Yeah, audio's my only real problem with this rip. I managed to pull out the audio, and mostly fix it. Sounds so much better now. Actually watchable.

No clue how they screwed the audio up so bad to begin with. Basically, it was about one semitone lower than it should have been. Maybe their audio came from a separate source, and they had to match it to their video?
