Someone needs to fix the bot or whatever it is that adds the releases to the site. It keeps saying 1 CD's when the release is infact 2. Seems to only be happening with XVIDs.

Posted by WaBasH on 09-15-2006 09:18 PM:

I was expecting this to get nuked or something given that the group mostly does DVDRs and SVCDS but it's perfect quality and so far no sync issues or anything. Bravo!

10/10
10/10
7/10 (Saw in theaters, could have been better but it was still a fun action movie)

That last pic is SO GAY.

Thumbs up excellent rip

Very good rip... ac3 really makes this worthwhile... dvdr should be avail soon.. won't bother wasting 2cd's when can have the full... 2cd's cost more than 1 dvdr anyways...

That last pic from above post was pretty gay...

Why not put multiple Xvids on dvdr ?

From the sample

V - 7.5 (A tad soft)
A - 9
M - ?

XIII

Posted by Budman69 on 09-16-2006 12:44 AM:

I like to put multiple Xvids on a dvd-r, sure i like the DVD, but it seems these people have limited bandwith hence the conversion.
If i had my hands on the real dvd i would just decrypt it, rar it, and load it, simple enough than to waste time converting it for a few hours, 6+ yrs ago i thought i was "Cool" making Divx, that is so lame as is IRC, Torrents, ...etc.
8/8/?

Looks awesome to me. Nice Widescreen.

9 10 8

I really liked this movie. I'm not sure why I like it so much other than maybe Scientology brainswashing me somehow.

This movie has awesome Thetan levels.

Darma and Greg was a great show.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

Needs Nuke????

I just read in a different site the admin saying

"Came across some bad.ivtc also, so chances are it will get nuked really soon (if it hasn't been nuked already!!) time; 03:20 on cd2"

Is it true? Anyone else got similar info??

Thought it was a good DVDRip??

Posted by BassKozz on 09-16-2006 06:13 AM:

missing SUBS

This is a great rip - however, there is a gripe...this movie has a scene that requires subs, and they are missing.

It's a fairly pivotal scene that provides some key character development and plot direction, and it is "mouthed" by the actor, and the film shows the subtitles of what he is saying.

This would only be important for those who've never seen the film before, but it is worth noting.

Posted by dontgiveafuck on 09-16-2006 06:45 AM:

tom cruise loves the cock!

vid quality aint bad. 8.5 - 9.
it's pretty clear i think. that's just how the dvd is if you think it should be sharper

Thx I appreciate somebody saying thx for my effort!

Posted by pedantics on 09-16-2006 03:21 PM:

indeed there is a bit of interlacing (or jaggy shit due to bad ivtc) - you can even see it in the sample ffs!

Posted by GeneSimmons on 09-16-2006 03:47 PM:

I heard somewhere that there are missing subtitles from a key scene from the film. Can anyone confirm this?

Posted by Merle on 09-16-2006 04:05 PM:

I'm sorry to ask this, but what does ivtc stand for?

Posted by tollie on 09-16-2006 04:36 PM:

Inverse Telecine

Posted by dontgiveafuck on 09-16-2006 04:53 PM:

i don't think that jaggy shit at 3:20 is from encoding.

i think it was part of the movie. those bars or lines are really fat. and the water in the background doesn't have lines.

true interlacing should have many more lines, no?

It just seems like a cheap shaky cam was used to film that clip. to give it an effect as if you were sitting in the cockpit of the heli. notice the previous frames were from a sniper scope.

Been waiting for this and it doesn't dissapoint.

Pic 9 Very Nice
Sound 10 Awesome
Flik 8.5 Great pacing, awesome effects. Good all round Cruise flik. Blows the previous two away by a mile.

Super early much needed release. Thanx CJ.

Question about subtitles

On another forum, someone mentioned that there was a fairly pivotal scene in this movie that requires subtitles. However, the subtitles in this release are not hard coded. Is this true? Does this movie require subtitles, and would I DVD release contain them?

Overall, the quality of this release is excellent. Nonetheless, I need to confirm this issue before I solidify my vote.

a bad itvc usually results in what looks like heat distortion, most noticable on diagnals and in scenes with lots of movement. you can see it here and there in this release.

you're right, though, the actual issue here might be due to the fact that the some scenes may have been shot on 1080i digital... making it almost impossible to pull out 24 progressive frames.

Posted by ILM on 09-17-2006 06:34 AM:

the lip reading subtitles are not hardcoded but they are in the subpack, just checked

Posted by chiv on 09-17-2006 08:55 AM:

couldn't this be resolved by looking at the dvdr at the same scene to see if it has the same issue?

Posted by frak on 09-17-2006 11:30 AM:

watched this on the TV tonight (57" Toshiba) -- that xvid dvd player I picked up recently is one of the better buys I've done recently.

Video quality is superb, colors, sharpness, etc. Might as well have been the retail dvd.

Audio is spot on.

Movie was entertaining.. not a big tom cruise fan, never was and his recent antics don't help matters.

anyhow:

v: 9.5
a: 8.5
m: 7.5

Posted by J|ngles on 09-17-2006 06:47 PM:

I'm pretty sure the scene that people are referring to (view from the helicopter) on CD2, it was meant to be like that, even if it wasn't it certainly didn't detract from the film and would only have noticed it because someone had mentioned it before I watched the release.

Apart from that everything was fine, video and audio were fantastic so thanks for the release.

Video - 9
Audio - 9
Movie - 8

A lot better than the other MI movies, seemed to be a genuine darkness about it compared to the usual Rogue agent thinking they're a genius and trying to get away with making millions of dollars.

All in all, fantastic release and a fantastic watch.

Thanks CJ.

Thx for the explanation

@waterloo_sunset;

I think you should go for the CuriousJotos version. Don't know about the Jupit version though... Is it 3cd's??? If so, go for the 3cd's!

Good quality though.

or are there others?
