U.S. Election Day
Well I did my civic duty earlier and went to the polling place to vote. Of course anyone who knows me knows who I voted for but just in case I held my nose and voted for McCain. Polling place was pretty busy, Ohio estimates a 80% turnout of eligible voters today, one of the highest ever but overall I had to only wait 45 minutes from when I got in line until when I actually began voting (10 am till about 10:50 am). Some places were reporting 2-3 hours waits so I guess I hit my polling place at a decent time. So I have to say not a bad experience and better than I expected.
Who else in the states made it out already today and what was your experience at the your polling place today?

McCain gave a rather thoughtful speach tonight when Obama became president elect. If McCain would have put more heart into this election and didn't pick Palin as his VP I might have been more apt to vote for him. She scares the fuck out of me. Yeah you're right it was primarily about the economy, and obviously people were listening. McCain doesn't know shit about the economy. The jeriatric even stated that himself.

Thank god he and his co-president's national health care plan was stopped. The government can't run anything well (outside of the military) so why the hell would we want them to run our health care?
The job growth was due in part to the strong economy he had when he went into office. Why can't people understand that the economy is a HUGE beast that takes a loong time (like yourself) to move one way or the other. What Reagan did in the 80's brought us the 90's. Look at the housing market. The changes (wrong ones) that took place in the 90's (Clinton forcing congress to reduce mortgage loan requirements thereby allowing people who normally would never have been approved for their loans to get them) is what caused the housing market to implode here in 2008. I'm not totally blaming Clinton, this started as far back as the late 70's during Carter's administration, and many republicans went along with or allowed what we now know was fiscally irresponsible changes but Clinton definitely played a part in it. It just that we are seeing it now though I saw it coming 2 years ago.

The obvious fact about the economy is that it has gotten out of hand, admittedly by the heads of the fed for the past 16 years. This transcends politics though, I believe.
We keep counting on the same people and power structures that got us into this, to get us out of it. IMO, the Federal Reserve needs to be gone, and although I wont convince any Republicans, other than Ron Paul'ers, JFK had started to dismantle the reserve 1 month before he was shot. He also was aware of the inherent problems with secret societies. He spoke of both these things. If Obama was the Man that JFK was, my vote would've went his way. and no McCain here either...

I don't see the revolution happening in our lifetime though that will be changing it, better be saving those useless pieces of paper or find a life 'off the grid'.
