There is a sample with this release, or do u mean the jpeg sample, if so then thats not really a valid comment.

As for this release, not too sure, looks and sounds like a very good Cam to me at times as the pic is very blurry and doesnt have that grain TC of old use to have, and is quite dark in certain scenes, also the sound is very echoey, and distorted at high volumes.

I have just watched the sample file, ya it is a bit dark but sound is very good, picture for the most part good a good job NBP.

scanned through some of the rars on all 3 cd's,and have to say the video is ok a tad blurry but very good never the less but as regards for the audio well sometimes it sounds direct then goes to cammish sound then other times audio sound bloody awful this to me seems the audio has been made up of different sources and blended together shocking really!!!!!

Just like bewitched , the picture is grainy and blurry , darker then usual and very below quality for a TELECiNE. As mentioned , sounds like a CAM for audio ...

::EDiT:: I edited as i dont want peepz to get off topic. When a real TC gets released ill just download from torrent why you are all stuck with the mislabled TS.

Picture - Russian TS from torrent.
Sound - same as the BaPH CAM heavily filtered just like ... Charlie.And.The.Chocolate.Factory.TS.SVCD was.

On a side note i wasnt bitching and yes i know it was free , hell i got this from torrent days ago. I was just stating by mislabling like TUN/NBP do (among other grps) it possibly could screw the future up for a nicer copy to be released.

very good quality ts/tc whatever audio is a bit fucked now and again but overall cant beat it.

if this is a ts the russians deserve a 10 for vid cos these are the best ive seen in 5 years.

Gotta disagree Airhead, though i do think this is possibly a TS, but not definetly, and maybe Bewitched too.
The Island was a definite TC, and the fact that all these releases had full credits also makes me doubtfull that they are Telesyncs, though if u have an empty cinema, it could be possible, but i dont see them going to the trouble.

The Mr and Mrs Smith TC looked great to me and was definetly a TC, also had full Credits, the only prob with that was the sound.

The Legacy DVD Screener was not a TC as far as i could see, it was far too high quality, i dont know any groups with the sort of cash to spend on a high quality machine to do that, also the sound was 5.1, since DTS2 hasnt been cracked so far, where did the soundtrack come from, every TS and TC since Hostage (I Think) has had Mono sound.

Sorry for going off topic guys, but had to say.

looks good to me so far... it is a bit dark, but after watching brothers grimm it looked pretty bright lol but i had always wondered about alot of ts's being passed as Tc's, i had been suspicious about alot of them when saosin switched from near prestine TS to openening weekend TCs that werent that much different, and then tun had that same source... but i want the better copy and this definatley needed one with all the cropping from the first... sound hasnt been the same in ages, so if i can hear it, ill live... still no excuse for mislabeling, but that doesnt mean that its not needed... and airhead wasnt bitching, its was airing out the truth... we just gotta know as dvdcamcorders and such get better this will become more and more common practice... ahh... anyway will edit when done watching, but ive seen this and went to theatres amazingly.... so... 7/6/9 i loved the darkness of the movie...

as long as russia is a floating landmass we will have TC's;x..audio is from a cam just souped up...and its dark like every other TC on the planet.

(for the folks who dont like the audio get the xvid and convert it to dvd-r with CCE since these guys are saying the audio is better which i dont think it is but it might be i would check but being at work on a sunday behind a firewall makes me handicapped

ive downloaded both samples. this one and astroids. astriods strike again. they ar ehte best xvid release group ever

astroids has a great none flicker picture and good sound. ill be grabing it instead

i also agree wait for the TC.ASTEROIDS if u can much better quality. and sound is much more bassy. watched in full but skimmed through the NBP rel both nice but wait for ASTEROIDS

Audio

Not sure if it was me but i;ve just watched the Asteroids XVID and its got some MIRC style sounds as if its picking up the sound from the pc that wasw beign used to encode it.. only happens a couple of times and scared the hell out of me the first time!

Look 4 the ASTEROiDS copy

Picture: 8 (it's a little fuzzy, but the colors are excellent!)
Audio: 7 (it's a little low... gotta crank up the volume on this one)
Movie: 8 (almost as good as the original)

Of course its free! Thats the point isn't it? If you had to pay $20 for the damn thing, we'd all wait for the DVD.

The point of this forum is to critique the release against the standards that they are labeled as... Its NOT bitching. Sometimes the wording could be better, but overall its the persons opinion as to said quality.

Now can we dispense with the flames and get back to the reviews?

I haven't seen this release yet, but have seen the movie and the original is MUCH better... This follows the book a bit closer than the original but it doesn't save the movie... This movie is more like a day in the life of Micheal Jackson at Neverland.

definately NOT a TC but good nonetheless.
Picture not as sharp as a TC should be and a bit dark (while cleaning the image up they could have added a brightness filter to lighten it up. But just turn brightness up a bit on your TV. Oh on a side note, the AR is off slightly on this and the asteroids release (there is a "proper" doing the rounds which I watched that has fixed AR)
Now the audio....this is the bad bit, sometimes clean but with a hiss or something coming in and out muffling out the true audio (god knows why) Also theres a few dings that you get in windows..heheh (get a grip) and as suggested before probably made up of a few different sources as sounds different in pieces.
But overall very watchable.

I also enjoyed the movie, I like Depp and the story is as you might expect with a few twists from the original.

If NBP was a gaping anus, I'd wear them like a hat! This copy isn't perfect, but it's very watchable.

::EDIT:: I LOVED it. Really, I dunno why everybody hates it so much. It's certainly a different "take" on the book than the old movie but it's certainly a good realisation of it. Great movie for kids too!

Yeah this isn't too bad. Picture quality is a helluva lot better than prevoius releases. As someone said previously, the sound is kinda weird and certainly not normal tc standard.....however, the full titles are there for the video and that is unusual in the extreme for ts films. There is a lot less flicker than ts films as well.
Apart from the odd bleep and the chop to cam sound at the end, the audio for me is fine and you can make everything out.

As TC - V7 A6.5 F8
AS TS - V9 A7 F8

video: 7 - a little blury and dark but still watchable
audio: 9 - no problems, clear, stereo audio
movie: the song in the sample has got to be one of the worst things I have ever heard, I couldnt wait for it to end. Whole movie looks shit.

who gives a rats ass about the fvcking sample (re: reviews on page 2 rating it).

the audio is all over the place on this one. windows chimes, nasty distortion during some of the oopma loompa scenes..etc.

video looks nice, but TC? nyet.

Picture was a little dark, but generally acceptable.

Sound was ok, but be warned there are a couple of IRC sounds and a blast of music to contend with. There are also a couple of parts where the occasional word has been silenced out - The last few minutes change to a cam feed sound + I struggled to hear the lyrics over the loud music.

If you enjoyed the original, you won't enjoy this. In my opinion it was diabolical.

The video is pretty good but the sound is hollow. As far as the movie goes, it's horrible. I was a big fan of the original and this is a typical POS remake!
