MVS does it again

Just skimmed through the movie to check how it is. I can say nothing more then mVs owns these scene for quality rips.

check out the .nfo for a good laugh

going to watch the film tonight

keep up the good work mVs and your right no reason to rush a release.. take your time and keep them PROPER

Video - 8
Audio - 7
Movie - watching tonight

Posted by Bullet on 07-27-2008 10:37 PM:

Its indeed better, a deserved proper.

Personaly i could live without all the f*ck you's and all the other smart ass comments. They put it on thick in every nfo that they are kids or at least childish. I love the mature attitude of e.g. Diamond. They dont need a big mouth to proof they are the best

Back to the rls:

video = 8
audio = 7
movie = 8

At least the nfo was entertaining...haha.

This release is nice, crystal clear audio and video. Maybe I think its great because its such an improvement on the other R5's. 9/9/? <--will watch tonight.

Nice quality release.
Gave the movie a 9 since I really enjoyed this one.

PS: @Bullet

DiAMOND is a retail group. They only release R1 DVDRips and DVDR (Replica).
They are one of the best, yes, but only when it comes to retail rips.

Posted by dead1 on 07-28-2008 12:07 AM:

audio still has a crackle when put on surround speakers.

videos fine.

and regarding the nfo... lol

Ahhhh... how quickly MVS forget their first dozen ventures into the "scene" - turds so huge they defined a whole subsection to the word stink.

Vid: 8
Aud: 6
Mov: 5 < Get past the FX and this REALLY is a crap film.

Definately a needed proper. I agree with them leaving the smart comments out of the nfo. Some grps do rush some of their releases in order to be the first to release.

Bekmambetov (Nightwatch, Daywatch) gets a big up, not necessarily for making the best film of all time, but for making such a smooth transition from Russian film making to English speaking fare.

It's his bread and butter, completely convoluted, massive suspension of disbelief screenwriting combined with his usual brilliant cinematographic style.

He's not alone. Most directors these days are style above substance. Tarantino, 300, you name it. Track down the most ridiculous story you can get your hands on and shoot the crap out of it. Time will tell, but, right now, Bekmambetov has a very strong style hand. If he can find a well written property... look out.

James McAvoy gets a huge up for one of the best American accents in recent years. If you close your eyes you swear it's Shia Laboeuf.

Jolie is, to be blunt, just plain old. She's a good 5 years beyond the hotness factor required for a role such as this. Put a fork in her, cuz she is done.

Overall, I had a blast. As long as you don't try to apply too much common sense to the enterprise, the visual feast is worth the ticket.

The other one was in stereo with hiss and static and this one is clean, but in mono. Both had a very clean picture.

Posted by SideBuster on 07-28-2008 06:45 AM:

Is it me or is this release missing/duplicating frames. At the end of part one frame #72722 is the same as frame #72726. And at the end of part 2 when the camera goes down the riffle with the scoop between the frames #74279 and #74280 there are a few frames missing wich couses the last sentence to be out of sync.

Posted by Kraq Le Pop on 07-28-2008 07:12 AM:

Fantastic release.
9/9/8

MVS are one of the very best groups out there, it's just too bad they lost their sense of humor.

Not so "very nice".

Anyone notice the opening

Great copy 9/8/10. Did anyone notice the fact that the opening is in, what appears to be, Russian.

Other than that this is good work.

Posted by Master_Zen on 07-28-2008 08:42 AM:

Crap movie, snuck into this after seeing The Hulk, but this rls is impressive.
After all of the audio issues w/ the other groups, mvs got it right, quality beats speed all day.

Audio is bearable, but it's line, so it's mono. Seems most people who post here are tone deaf and cant tell the diff between mono-stereo. It's still better audio than all the other releases, which were worse..

So for clarity I guess you could rate the audio higher, but these days I kinda expect technology to have gone past the mono audio format, so I'm going to rate a mono release as bad even if there isnt an alternative.

Posted by moob on 07-28-2008 10:31 AM:

Watched whole release last night on 42" plasma.

Video - 9 crisp, clear - not too far from dvd rip quality.

Audio - 7 - although clear and direct, there's a fair amount of distortion noticeable.

Movie - 8 - I like! It's one of those suspend all belief action flicks - if you can get by the 'huh?!' factor, you should enjoy.

Posted by Lester_Diamond on 07-28-2008 10:36 AM:

Ripping a retail DVD is easy, can't understand why someone would say Diamond is better than say Axxo?

Anyway, very nice R5 release

MvS is a good group but in the begining they had dumped some real shit balls. But they came a long way since.

nice release, not watched the whole movie, just burnt it to DVD, but from skimming through it

V:9
A:8

i went to see it at the pics and wasnt a bad film, who know if a repack will surface as subs are needed for like the "fcuk you" part when he hits him with keyboard etc

Posted by moviefann on 07-28-2008 04:51 PM:

v-8
a-7-not bad
m-7.5===it was better the first time in the cinemas

the subs got messed up when i converted the provided ones (from Mvs) from srt to ssa because vdub needs it in ssa format, so i ended up splitting the srt file until i got most to works...the only one i could not get to work was the long 5 lines at the atm.....but props to mvs for the quality...and speed....although HARDCODED subs would have been less of a pain the the buttox!!!

Posted by Debby on 07-28-2008 07:42 PM:

Nice one mVs!
I prepared myself for the TS tinnish lifeless audio track that
usually get synched with the Russian source, but this one was
pretty good for such! The video quality is as good as a DVD IMO.

9/8/6 - good action, shallow plot.

Posted by lennox on 07-28-2008 08:24 PM:

V: 9 - Aside from all the non-English text, the video is flawless.
A: 7 - Extremely monotone but watchable.
M: 5 - Mildly entertaining...

Because Axxo doesnt even rip retail dvd's, they just slap their tags on scene releases and publish them on p2p sites.

I have to agree with Anach now, you can't rate the audio much higher if it's not stereo!

I could even understand a rating of 7, but there are a bunch of people who gave this audio a 9. I wonder what they are hearing the audio on? Maybe in the future the type of equipment that is used to hear the audio should be noted. Someone listening on a one speaker tv will much more likely enjoy this than someone with a 5.1 system.

watched this on the TV (well scanned it.. as I had already seen the other release)

video is great and about the same as the others.

the audio is FAR better - no hiss.

This is the one to get.

nice rip.

average movie.

keep making those babies angelina. stretch that tummy

They shouldnt diss other groups in their nfo.. Look at the nukes on their releases.

Audio was way better, subs on the ATM part too was nice.. And the movie is worth to see since you see angelina back side =)

goes out of sync at the end

audio has no hiss but doesnt sound as good, video is nice.. would have preferred hard-coded subs for translations at the neccessary moments as well (but im just being picky)

Just watched it this morning. Strange film I thought - but I liked it.

Video was as good as can be and audio was decent - seemed a bit too deep and bassy to me but was totally in sync until the last 2 seconds when it looked as tho what his lips said didn't match the audio????

Video - 9
Audio - 7.5
Movie - 7

Don't forget to add the subs for the Russian translations :-)

As others said it goes out of sync RIGHT! at the end but it's the last line in the movie that James McAvoy says and then the credits roll so no big deal really apart from that a good release from mVs

Yes, the audio does go out of synch... For the last sentence (punchline) of the film! No problem though. Great release.

Awesome flick, homie. Video and audio was good, even the Russian ATM was subbed for us English speakin' folk. When you rush to put something out first, you often fuck up. Haste makes waste, learn something from mVs.
