For a second I thought this was going to be one of TCF's top quality full screen screeners. Their telecine is good enough until the dvd rip comes out.

Well I Know Everyone Has Been Posting This Is A Bad Release Acctly No It's Not Its THe Same tape as that was used to make the Full screeen screener before but they spent alot of time and made it wide screen and better and svcd so think before u post and acctly watch the sample not the pic's !

Let me get this straight, i dont have this yet, not even a sample, but the workprint was watchable looked like a Cam at times but apart from the glitches the sound was perfect.

The TC was pure shit, horrible framerate, Bad Aspect Ratio, and worse than TS sound, come on guys be honest, the TC only looked good from the jpgs, i want a good version of this, at least VHS quality, is it worth me getting this.

Edit:Just re-read the nfo, i thought TCF knew how to encode, or is that a typo, it says 480x480 25fps, thats a NTSC resolution with a Pal framerate, thats a XSVCD, no problem for my DVD player but some might moan.

Hey Asterisk get a Widescreen TV, when is Fullscreen high quality.

ok i burned the 1st cd so far and watch 4 minutes of it, its nice

the last reign of fire you couldnt see shit, this one is very watchable

LOL thanks for the advice, I did say 'TCFs top quality' release not 'high quality'.

The sound in the TC was pretty much the same as the WP without the glitches. Not that bad. If you want better sound go for this one, but the pic isn't a vast improvement.

The WP was Stereo and sounded great through a Dolby Surround setup, The TC was Mono and was very muffled, theres no comparsion.

Charly are you serious, i wasn't going to get this but i need to out of curiousity now, even though i was waiting for the DVD-Rip.

Rate it on its own quality merits, not on the movie itself, and forget thats theres been a ton of releases, not one of them has even been close to VHS yet, so in my opinionwe need another version, it dont do no harm, and you cant tell me a 2 CD rip of reign of fire from standard VHS looks better than a 3cd from SVHS, they couldn't mess it up that much could they, even though the resolution bothers me.

Hello when will people realize the re-releases with better quality are for people who were holding out to watch the movie. Just cause you saw it before, doesn't mean its justifyable to bitch about another version is out!! As long as they get better, in one way or another, it should be well ok and acceptable.

I can finally watch this movie now, knowing I won't miss any good details

Except for a couple of you-- Redemption, ebeats-- this is a damn sorry thread. I dumped a better version of this movie (the workprint?) only to get a newer version (TC- with a f**ked framerate), which left me with nothing. Hope this is a step up from the workprint. Can't really tell from these comments so far.

the highest rating i gave to esoteric, and tcf, to me there one of the best, not every release could be 8's. ozzy is starting to sound like a member, notice he was my best friend when i gave all 8's on last tcf release, and now looks like i struck a nerve. hehe

p.s. also you guys must judge every movie in the same category, when i judge a screener, its for screeners only, when i gave this a 4/4, its judging for screeners, when i gave a ts a 6, thats judging for ts's.

i dont judge every release as same catergory, how can u compare a screener with a ts, makes no sense, there 2 seperate, like oil and vinegar..

so when i judged MINORITY REPORT, this was judging on every screener i ever saw and how i rate screeners only

People like you make things very difficult; when you bash a rip like reign of fire and give this rip (which several others have also thought is bad) the same rating it really shits on your integrity.

I don't care how many people you are or who's dick(s) you suck, but for this forum to be of any help to people you can't give shit ratings without justification. Same for high ratings... if you REALLY like the new dvdrip of land before time IX but the screen is tilted at a 45 degree angle with inverted colors and the audio echos in spanish, don't influence some poor idiot into wasting his time downloading it by giving it a 10/10/10 with a million "!"'s and "***rules!".

If you really think a rip's vid and audio are 4's, you might consider explaining your decision with more than "this movie sucks."

Great release

I can't believe everyone has a problem with this release. TCF has released this movie 3 times before, and did an excellent job every time, but it went workprint, then telecine, and now a screener. With each release the quality of the movie is getting way better, and I for one welcome each release. It's not like this is the 3rd screener release, that would be dumb.

And anyone who says this is the same quality as the TC obviously just looked at the jpegs, because TC has a fucked up framerate, wicked detail SVCD, but it gets jumpy, and not smooth motion. Anyone who watched the whole release will agree. And this is by far way easier to watch, although I'm not 100% sure it should've been a SVCD instead of VCD, but I personally prefer the SVCD.

SVHS scr my ass... this is a TC at best..... probabally taken from a pdvd .....audio is tinny but pic is good.....pretty lame of TCF to mislabel this....this is no scr.... audio is the same as there TC...looks like they just wated 1 more release under there belt to me....

You must have a 1980's speaker system, the audio isn't like the TC at all. Much much better, and you can see vhs noise onscreen so it's obvious. And I doubt TCF needs this release if it was just about putting out the most because they have already done that.

A TC can look better than SVHS but thats not the point, and its obvious its SVHS source, it has the VHS noise but its too sharp and clear for normal VHS, but i agree the audio is not perfect ands apart from the glitches i think the workprint had better audio, but its still a lot better than the TC which was worse than most TS.
