Which is your top 5 must have dvds?

Based upon sound quality, special effects and quality of the movie itself. Here is my list.


1. Terminator 2
2. Xmen
3. Gladiator (Russel Crowe)
4. The Matrix
5. The 5th Element (more on the effects than plot)

5th element ruled supreme. everything about it was good.. i'd say it was certainly worth getting even if the extras (on UK version anyway) arent particularly special. it used to retail for £25 (£5/$8 more than most titles) but i bought it in the sale.

lemmmmme thing...

1. Alien - great extras, great film, great print
2. Terminator 2 (i have PAL version which is missing some features, but awesome print)
3. Gladiator - sure why not good film and sounds fantastic when u crank the volume
4. Akira tin - mmmmm tin
5. X Files S1 - first tv series i had on dvd, and the packaging is great, and its a great season too

definately #1'a gotta be LOTR- extended one
2- super troopers (noone agrees i know- but i love the film even if it's a no-namer)
3- back to the future (all three)
4- last castle (as far as movie goes)
5- 5th element was a beauty

5&4:are mainly cos of the Surround Sound

3:Cos of the excellent Digital transfer and THX setups

2:Shows off any system - period! The best picture ever

1 well....... I just hope they continue with the extended releases for the next movies. Watching the extras was a real eye opener

He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! Alright, here's a list of the top 5 tightest action movies (to get a good laugh):
1. Steven Seagal - Out For Justice
2. Jean-Claud Van damme - Bloodsport
3. Stallone - Rambo Trilogy
4. Schwarzenegger - Commando
5. Brandon Lee & Dolph Lundgren - Showdown in Little Tokio


ok and seriously, here are the best movies to ever get on dvd and well worth the money:
1. Donnie Darko
2. Back to the Future Trilogy
3. Snatch
4. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (soooo many special features and so funny)
5. Boiler Room & Swordfish (tied, they're both equally great)

I can't possibly pick 5. Movies I MUST-HAVE are:
Thriller/Sci-Fi/Action/Fantasy: Memento (2-Disc Edition), Fight Club (2 Disc), The Matrix, LOTR Extended Edition Trilogy (when they all come out on dvd they'll probably make an all in one, so this is on my top 10 for the future! Ok...I'm a cheater )
Comedy: This is Spinal Tap, There's Something about Mary
Drama: American Beauty, The Godfather Trilogy (cheating again )

Since DVD's not only offer superior sound and video quality over VHS but also documentaries, behind-the-scenes, original trailers, commentaries, etc. I'm going to have to factor that aspect into some of my choices.

In no particular order:

[1] Fight Club
[2] Terminator 2: SE
[3] Gladiator
[4] Saving Private Ryan
[5] The Matrix

Also, you gotta love the Superbit releases of The Fifth Element, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and U-571.

apocalypse now excellent movie we need a better dvd of it why not insert the making of apocalypse now documentary out ther
