Yep yep .... just got the movie and the sound/pic is almost screener, probably 9 for audio and 8.5 for sound. Great work!

Well believe it or not Centropy can't encode for crap. If any other groups released as XVCD it'd be a nuke. Do they actually think they benefit from an increased bitrate, its a bootleg. This release is alright, Nothing like the stuff centropy use to release (monsters inc tele, training day) they're new stuff constantly has a bad AR and this crappy non compliant format.

hummm.......here we go again with a non-compiant format. VCD is VCD not XVCD. and the typical humm in the audio again. Centropy is still the stick to measure by, but not sure if they are slippin or others are gettting better

Nice one Centropy top notch again slight audio buzz but its well worth the download, works perfect as usual on my sony dvd player so im happy ive never had a bad release from Centropy and they delivered again. 9 video 8 audio keep it up. It really would be totally awesome without that buzz.. it seems to go in and out of sync too ... why use unorthodox coding?

U guys rule when u release so why not change your encode?
PLZ?? otherwise 9 for pic but 6 for sound (DAMN buzzing every 10 min or so)......

nice rls, if you dont like it as an XVCD than just re-encode it with TMPGENC and VCDGear. convert the dat to mpg with vcdgear, and convert it to a 100% vcd with tmpgenc

either you just compared the VCD Quality to the theatre quality, which is stupid because duh, you cant compare something like that, theres simply no contest

or.. you compared the actuall movie, which is also stupid since the movie itself will be exactly the same.

my god this movie blows..the rock cant act and the story was soooooooooooo cheeezy.
about the video quality,there were some parts of the movie (desert scenes)where everything on screen was just a big white blur and you cant see anything.

This technique will fix the audio 99% but its just a matter of if you can be bothered to do it or not

Anyways... first off extract the .dat off the cd and rename it to .mpg. Then load up the mpg in virtualdub and extract the audio to a .wav. Then using any decent audio sampling software (I use cool edit pro 2) load up the .wav you just extracted. Find a part of the movie that is "supposed" to be silent. e.g. before the movie starts around the time of the company logos etc. or after the movie has ended. Then highlight a small segment of the audio and listen to it. Its probably gonna be hissy or have a buzz etc.
Then (in cool edit pro 2) go to :-

>Effects
>Noise Reduction
>>Noise Reduction

Then click on "Get profile from selection". You'll see the display change to show you your audio. You can then move the slider bar from left to right to adjust how much you wanna reduce it by. If you have it up on 100 you'll get rid of all or nearly all of the shitty sound. But you might risk the audio sounding glassy and a bit fucked up in places.

Then click ok and it'll apply the noise reduction to that small segment. After that highlight the entire .wav from start to end and back to the noise reduction. Without changing any of the settings just click ok, and it will apply the same settings again over the whole movie.

Thats it. It takes up to an hour usually per cd on an average specced pc. But you'll have 99% hiss/buzz free audio after.

Hope this helps

p.s. i did this technique on resident evil - ctp. and it sounded perfect after.

Old DVD Players mean nothing. One of mine is 4 months old and one is 2 months old. Both arent the best you can buy but they are above standard... 1 thing though... They dont do XVCD. Most players dont support it.

Decent release from Centrophy. I thought the movie sucked myself. Decent Pic. They had a little sound problem but it goes away with adjusting the treble.

CTP do the hard part good to capture it but they cant do the easy part to encode it.

Maybe their releases is not meant for usa since the majority here cant find a tv that plays pal. Its not about the synch problem they can easy be fixed but the aspect since my dvd converts on the fly to ntsc but the picture get flatten a little bit. I could convert it to ntsc and i probably will since i rather have a less quality picture but correct picture than a flatten one.

Why not encode to vcd standard CTP when its so easy to do that, even stupid lamers can do that.

another typical ctp release.. (good) a lil bright in spots, ie.. desert scenes, but overall.. good colors\video.. and aside from the audio buzz... fair audio.. (you can fine tune the buzz out by ducking high frequencies on your EQ), oh- lame story line

i think centropy and ftf should join forces... becasuse... ftf gets the shit out faster than anyone else... for the most part its decent quality as well despite what the lamers say that flame when they see the name... centropy usually has damn good quality... but cant make a compliant vcd for shit... i think if you put the 2 together youd have a fucking hell of a vcd rls group

why? what difference does it make? whenever ive renamed the dat and messed about with it. the results have never fucked up on me :P

here is my opinion- there is nothing great about this release it has audio sync prob it has a a real tendenecy to White-out near flames or lighter coloured scenes - iam sure it has an interlaced prob too- how you 1 or 2 of u can call it a screener is beyond me - it is a release - thats it - get a bit of respect and tell it as it is - don't sux balls-
-having said that the FTF release was a poor go too !!

Honestly i thought the quality was somewhat disappointing and the audio kinda pissed me off.. i should have downloaded the UTI release.. it looks somewhat better.
