8/8/X
The sound in the workrpritn wasnt as good as this nor was the picture as clear

Posted by zad on 10-12-2003 09:36 AM:

nice picture sound bit low on left side but nice fast release,i wouldnt say workprint was better!

Lightbulb QUESTION

Which version should I watch?

Is the workprint missing any effects, music, scenes, blablah?...

What do you guys think(your opinion) about which quality is better on your TV, not your PC.

Thanks guys.

My vote goes for WP! Video maybe slightly better in this release but the workprint's audio is better than TCR's release.

IMO ------> 7.9/7.2/9.5

AFAIK the WP does not miss anything. Just the annoying breaks in the middle for reel changes which is negligble considering it was a WP and you got to watch it a day before the slated release.

everything in the workprint was good except framerate...and due to the framerate problem, I say go with this one.

an SVCD proper of the workprint woulda ruled

every thread of movies as big as this.. ends up being pages of assholes saying "see it in theaters first" that post has nothing to do with this telesync.. nobody should come in here commanding people to watch it in theaters first.. its tired.. and it got old a long time ago.. please dont let this thread turn into that

TCR prove again that they are the crew of the moment - this release if not for the workprint would be fantastic early release -quility is good (as always with TCR) - for those with the workprint id wait till a scr for those without take this - and if youve got the bandwidth (like me) then have them both!!!!
WP= 7/7/9
TCR TS = 7.5/7.5/9
marginal

I agree. Besides, I'm probably seeing it in the theaters anyway, but it's not released here until the 24th and I can't wait.

Posted by pezley on 10-12-2003 10:45 AM:

pretty nice....im glad there is still a nice ts group around .... seems tcr is carrying the torch at the mo.

release:

not bad , bit grey so to speak ... but all the colors are there ( just slightly missing in saturation ... dunno how much is cropped tho.

sound is fine ... no complaints here :P

7/7/?

one thing i dont understand about this film.... its a kung fu movie... yet so many people are interested

seems weird that so many people think this film is "fuckin amazing" yet how many people would be sayign that if it didnt have tarintino plastered on it ? ( heh , not that im saying it isnt amazing , as i have watched it yet )

Posted by Vaffanculo on 10-12-2003 10:55 AM:

Good Job

First wachable release of this movie imo. Colors a little washed and the sound a little hollow, but still clear enuff. all in all, not bad at all. altho the picture and sound is better on the workprint, the workprints jerky playback makes it a pain in the ass to watch. This one plays smooth and makes watching the movie much more enjoyable. ill give this a 7/6/?

I'll Second That... first one gave me a headache trying to watch it.. had to turn it off. This one is better.. at least it doesn't look like i'm watching through a web cam.

Not a bad flick.... but no Pulp Fiction either.

::edit- don't forget your only getting half a movie here -M$

Posted by SeeDee on 10-12-2003 12:14 PM:

Judging from sample

7\6\.

Video: Doesn't seem too cropped, colours washed, and brightness flickers, Frame rate better than WP.

Audio : CAM Job ? . I would say sound is not direct, just recorded in emtpy cinema.

Posted by jigger on 10-12-2003 12:39 PM:

Break down by the jigger man :-

Workprint:-

Picture is fine watchable but frame rate isnt the best = 7.5

Sound is very very good = 8.0

TCR:-

Picture is very watchable with washed out colours = 7.7

Sound is very hollow and isnt as good as wp = 7.2

As you can see from the above the releases both have their own uniquness and are beating each other with either sound or video. Had the TCR release had the sound of the wp then this wouldve been the best release, personally if you got the WP stick with it as in my opinion its the better release.

Audio - 7 - Good enough quality
Video - 7 - Washed out, Opium workprint is better
Movie - 7 - Alright i guess, not what i was expecting

My vote goes to the Opium Workprint version. I like colors in my movies, and i think Opiums had more color. Plus it was out earlier than this version so it gets props for me for being out earlier and being such a nice copy. I will upgrade to a better version (maybe TCF???) when one comes available, but theres no rush.

Posted by Rep- on 10-12-2003 02:27 PM:

I'd personally go with this one You know this is complete and not missing anything.

Posted by rappa on 10-12-2003 02:55 PM:

Are you people 3/4 deaf? Honestly, the sound is hollow, its a cam, pic is good, sound sucks..pff waste of a rls due to the sound 8/4/x

cam or not i think this by far the best rls to watch , i thought the movie is shit personally but thats just me ,

little stab at OPiUM when they say "Supplier: Kazaa" in tha nfo

Posted by SBrooks1 on 10-12-2003 03:56 PM:

Video is nice on this one. Sound is really hollow with a slight hiss. Hopefully I can make it look and sound better with my home theater setup.

Posted by bryehn on 10-12-2003 04:23 PM:

great job by TCR, i'm sticking with my WP untill a DVDSCR though...i've already taken the time to doctor it a bit, and the sound in it, while tinny and "computer" sounding is better than this obvious non direct source.

TCR's video is spot on as usual.

6/6.5/8

movie was good, though (and i really debated thinking this) a bit overrated...

awesome movie! saw it in theaters on friday

Posted by Cory on 10-12-2003 06:44 PM:

I'd take this over the WP ... the video is a lot better, the workprint was a little glitchy on my DVD player so in the fight scenes it was a bitch to watch. I think the audio was probably better on the WP ... the audio on this seems a little low but its still really good. Plus this doesn't have the watermarks on the top along with the beeps in the audio every once in a while, and theres no reel changes on this one.

8/7/8

Posted by psychoace on 10-12-2003 06:45 PM:

to the person who said this is no pulp fiction well NO SHIT. this is not pulp fiction two this is kill bill thus the movie is different i hope more people understand that and go into the theater (or to there dvd player) with a more open mind. Making the same kinda movie would be just stupid and thus i loved it for being not pulp fiction 2.

Watched this earlier today. Great picture (if a little cropped so you can't read all the subs sometimes - grr!). It's a little bright in places but doesn't blur or pixelate on my standalone even in the fight sequences.

Sound is well and truly through a cam though - you can hear people rustling their jackets at the start and laughing when Lucy Liu is in the boardroom about half way through. That's a bit annoying. Plus its a little low sometimes so its hard to hear what people are saying.

Movie I thought was ok. It most definitely should have been kept as one movie though - just as you're getting into it after the slow start it ends!

Overall 8/5/7

Posted by flex0r on 10-13-2003 12:11 AM:

Cool

too bad the sound on this one is not as good as on the wp, which i watched yesterday otherwise i would've got this too
about the movie, go watch it all, i don't care when, which version or whatever, but make sure you see it, cause this is a winner
tarantino - too bad we had to wait so long, but you made it worth my man, thanks

7.5/6.5/9

The beeps in the audio are supposed to be there. I saw it in the theater and they were there. Every time they say Uma Thurman's characters name, there is a beep, so you don’t know what her name is. That way she’s known only as "The bride." It was intentional.

Posted by Vinicius on 10-13-2003 04:06 AM:

The brides real name

Even with the "beeps", the bride's real name is in the movie, just pause the movie trailer at "one ticket to tokyo " - 00:01:11
you can see her name written at the ticket.

Posted by Cory on 10-13-2003 04:28 AM:

Oh I figured that was just part of the WP...

Posted by misfits138 on 10-13-2003 04:53 AM:

more watchable than the wp which had a shitty frame rate and hurt action scenes.

Posted by J^^ on 10-13-2003 05:12 AM:

just got back from theatres and this movie was AMAZING !!!!!!!! holy shit mr q.t. did it again.... cant wait for 2. judgin from the sample this seems aiight (7) but id go see it in the theatre... worth the 10 bones

Posted by Faceman on 10-13-2003 05:42 AM:

How is the aspect ratio on this one? Looks like some of the picture is cut off. I don't have the release yet to compare yet.

The WP is complete minus about 3 background sounds.

Posted by teegee420 on 10-14-2003 05:26 AM:

I'd grabbed this one because I wasn't entirely pleased with the frame rate the workprint had but I still prefer that release over TCR's. Audio is really hollow on this one too. Good effort though. If this were the only release I probably wouldn't be as critical.

Video- 6
Sound- 6
Movie- 10

Posted by warsaw on 10-14-2003 01:14 PM:

is this version cut?
imdb says 110min, this only clocks in at about 97min, or is the end credits really 13 min long?

Posted by DrunkMonk420 on 10-15-2003 03:17 AM:

yea this movie is def worth the $10 to see in the theaters. i am waiting for a dvd screener of this movie, or at least another TS svcd rip, since this one is too washed out and the sounds is horrible. you dont get the full feel of the movie at all with this rls.

i have seen loads of 7.5`s film be for and they look a lot better then this shit crap more like 5.5

Unhappy

Kill.Bill.Volume.1.SVCD.TELESYNC-TCR

after watching cd1 i realized the movie is cut on the side and its angled.....i still think this release is nice but i'd prefer the WP much more....cos u can read the subs and nothings cut......the only thing bad bout this release is that its cut on the sides and the audio is low......so imma hold on to the WP and wait for a better release......but great job on a fast release of this movie TCR!

did anyone notice the movie goes pixelate when theyre fighting or on a fast scene? or is it just me?....

To me is one of the best TCR. The video quality is very good despite that is cutted at the borders thats why I vote 8. The sound its clear and pretty good too. About the movie... Well many ppl say that is a good or the best movie out there... To me this movie sux.
I think that Tarantino is watching too many japanese hentai crap and thats why he does "this". I have no idea how qualify this movie. A cheap comic?. An action movie?. No idea. Seems that the last thing that Tarantino had does well was Reservoir Dogs... Nothing more. And the girls, well, Uma is pretty cute but speaking in japanese?. haha. I never could imagine that. The japanese girls looks like tamagotchi with make up.
Btw this release has the "funny" dots... Just look closely.

video is washed out
audio is hollow. sounds like a cam
workprint was better imho

Not a bad release.

Problems:
Video was cropped down from 2.35:1 to 16:9. This also partway cuts off some subtitles.
It's mislabeled should be called a "CAM" not a Tele-Sync. Has NO direct sound souce, audio echoes and the audience can be heard laughing and whispering.

Waiting for a true 'Tele-Sync'.

subtitles??

Is this one missing any of the subtitles or are they cut off?

Posted by ramp on 10-17-2003 09:20 PM:

the subs are cut off in some places....

I saw the "funny" T-dots in a different spot in the theater here, funny how the bins & cues for this rls are killmpaa1 & killmpaa2.....

Release is def watchable I would stick with the WP.

Posted by BiggD23 on 10-19-2003 06:00 PM:

The TCR SVCD is missing so much of the sides of the screen, I can't even watch it like that. You can really tell when she is fighting Vivica A Fox in the living room and they stop because the school bus pull up. As they stand and point their knives at each other you're supposed to see both of their whole bodies. In this release all you see is their arms. IMO the workprint is better if only for the fact that the whole screen is intact. Can't wait for a true SVCD or screener to come out.

Posted by Yomanda on 10-21-2003 10:13 AM:

Kill Bill (Which one?)

I would not really bother with any of them, the unedited workprint was probably the better one(if you had to watch one),apart from slight sinc problems and the 5,4,3,2,1 countdown now and again (The full edit version does not have that). The TS SVCD version is crap because most of the right hand side is missing and I have a widescreen TV! All you could see was somebody's shoulder when you see the whole person in the Workprint.
As far as most of the versions available are concerned then I would see it in the Cinema.
I think they have been beaten with this movie!

Posted by u2loverboy on 10-21-2003 06:32 PM:

Is this a mislabeled cam? You can hear laughing in the background during the scene in Okinawa with the two Japanese men arguing over who is going to get the sake for our hero. I heard laughing at least twice during this scene. Audio sounds very hollow too. Video is great with the exception of the cropping of the sides, especially the right hand side. Great movie, can't wait for Vol. 2!
