Email Updates?

Would you guys be interested in getting a email every night with a list of all new movies released that day? of course you would be able to select what sections you would recieve updates from. I could also branch it out in the future to allow users to put in keywords to search for and whenever that movie came out it would email you. Hmm just a thought.. give me your ideas/suggestions on this. Thanks

The thought of being emailed as soon as a specific film came out would be great... save me checking every 10 mins

its a good idea although i check the site regularly; usually atleast 2 a day, i'm sure alot of other people probably don't, so i'd say email would be good for those people that don't check regularly.

I think it'd be good just to cut down on the serverload. By the looks of this thread, there's probably hundred's of hits a day by the same people, especially when something like X-Men 2 just comes out in theatres.

Being able to narrow down what you're getting emailed about is great. Maybe by section as well as title or something.

It may save on some bandwith, if it stops people from checking the site 10 times a day. I would sign up for it, then check the site for the quality ratings.

Email when a flick comes out is great. but as far as a list everyday whouldn't be to great. but sounds like a good ideal as long as we can customize it. keep up the good work btw.

Yes, I'd definitely use it, X69. What I'd be even happier with would be a similar tracking system for TV ep releases. But, that would require that y'all followed TV releases more closely in the first place, so ...

a configurable request to to notified when a particular release of a film or a group release.i e. centropy got new release with link to forum with any feed back.

email notification when a repack is posted

email with latest movie news configurable to cinema /scene etc

I'm not sure that one e-mail per day will have as big an effect on the site hit counts as you might want. people will still load the main page more frequently if they're anxiously awaiting some release. maybe allow people to sign up for two or even three e-mails per day if they want? and then you could allow more relaxed users to sign up for only one e-mail every other day or every week or every x number of releases.

i'm with horizonstar on the tv thing, but those are fairly easy to find anyways, and 50-60% of the ones i grab aren't on here in the first place...haven't seen much FTV/FFN on here lately.

other than that, just the days releases, i'm not too picky, and never know what i'm in the mood to grab anyways...

I think it would be good to be able to select the catagory of the release (DVD-R, SVCD, etc), the group releasing, or a perticular title.

People seem to like the idea. Me well, I think it would be annoying to sign into Hotmail every email. I visit the site like 15 times a day anyways, and check each release section when doing so. I wouldn't use the email feature. But if it brings more users then its a nice lil feature to have.

hmm im pretty sure there is a way i can get email sent to my cell phone, i think you should have a special sign up just for this, you put in the email addy you want to recieve updates to and sections you want to be updated on, that would be awsome if i could goto the mall or whatever, get an email on my cell phone saying a hot new release is out... im all for the idea

then i would just need to be able to send an email to my house and have my computer auto leech the release :-p

I think it would be a good idea, but since I check your site more then 2 times a day, would just be more spam in my email.

But for the members who dont, they would love it, Just make a option on the forum to turn it off or creat another mailing list just for it.

I know I'm not the brightest or anything, but... could you find a way to message AIM/ICQ/MSN/YAHOO when a new VCD/SVCD whatever they want is released saying like... Bla.Bla.VCD was released at Time/Date Something little like that would be cooler to me than sending it to a e-mail... its fast and simple.
