this has already been out on dvd so this is useless, cant believe they didnt do therte research before releasing this.

Posted by villanovax on 12-26-2004 04:43 AM:

Not even a good ts, audio is close to perfect, but ar is bad. Yay stretched heads

4/9/?

Posted by chiv on 12-26-2004 04:45 AM:

yeah, was gonna say... a ts? ur sh*tting me, this has been out on dvd for over a year, i wish groups would do a little research/use common sense before releasing sub-quality crap, just so that they can get some kinda 'cred' for it... rubbish, skip this and grab the 'ancient' DVDRIP... mind you, same stupid crap happened when hero was released... dont be so lame matine.

Posted by Apollo 13 on 12-26-2004 04:58 AM:

The quality isn't that bad. The movie is a little stretched out. The audio is good but I only get sound from my left speaker.

7 for qualtiy
7 for audio

Posted by trueno22 on 12-26-2004 05:04 AM:

bar ar easy fix though good colors but goes bloky at points and cd1 and cd2 are same thing so you get 2 firts halves of film go scour for the dvdrip leave this one alone

Posted by vip3r on 12-26-2004 05:42 AM:

dc_man, correct, but you must realise that this movie came out in Spain 2 years ago..and that our retarded fuckin MPAA decides to make this "ok" movie nationwide..while they make all the good movies limited...anywho, being that a dvd came out of this movie about a year and a half ago..this was not needed. DVDR's of this have come out in the past couple of months too. And considering i have my lovely TWCiSO DVDR...i definately do not think this garbage was needed...if anything - it should have been iNTERNAL.

Posted by DrunkMonk420 on 12-26-2004 05:49 AM:

lol @ maTinE

Posted by Apollo 13 on 12-26-2004 05:57 AM:

OK I went throught the movie and it skipped the first 5mins of the movie. Those are the most important parts of the movie.

What does the U.S. theatrical release date have to do with it? If a DVD rip is out, what's the point of a TS?

I've had the dvdrip sitting in my "to watch eventually" pile for over a year, but now seeing the TV ads for it might actually make me watch it sooner rather than later.

Posted by dc_man on 12-26-2004 08:26 AM:

Didn't realize. Interesting, and very retarded that it would get a theatre release now.

Posted by vcdking24 on 12-26-2004 09:02 AM:

Thanks MTE, nothing wrong with releasing this. everybody bashing you because its been out, but i cant find a copy because its been so long..at least ill probably come across this release.

Posted by HypoLuxa on 12-26-2004 09:31 AM:

First of all concerning the release itself, as many people have said before my post…uh…a little late on the arrival.

However kudos never the less.

MAJOR SCENE SPOILER WARNING...............................

However….my main question to you personally as the group is, why would you do an interview with such a main stream American mag. like Wired? I must say I was quite surprised to read about some of the bombs that were droped in that article in the Jan 2005 issue, the articles called “The Shadow Internet”. “Frank” as they call the head of Matine in the article strait breaks down how Matine was founded, also claiming that they gained a high quality copy of Spy Kids 3D: Game Over from a projectionist and used that to gain their first recognition in the scene. Now correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember ANY high quality rls of that film coming out until DVD qual was available. Every rls had some bell ringing or something wrong with it that was a TS anyway. Anyway in this same article “Frank” continues on to name off groups like Centropy, VideoCD and TCF in connections with the European TS and TC connections.

This same article mentions a couple top site names which I’m not going to mention and a slew of other shit that I think sucks got leaked to the main stream media because of a couple popus morons with connections. If this type of shit continues there won’t be a scene folks. Just thought I would spew my opinion a bit for you all.
-scene rant

Darkness.2002.COMPLETE.NORDiC.PAL.DVDR-FRASBARN

As u can see unecessary release and holy stretched bodies. Next do a TS of Life Aquatic. Keep on keeping on MaTinE.LMFAO

Posted by Redemption1980 on 12-26-2004 12:43 PM:

This is probably a totally different cut, than the DVDR, more than likely an inferior version though, but its still an OK release for people who want to see the US Theatrical version.

The quality is Not bad on it, it is stretched, but thats a good thing for me, as it looks better on a WS TV that way.
The audio is good, but is left channel only.

you guys are idiots! I just saw the preview for this flick in the movies. Its a new moving coming out, that happenes to have the same title at the previous "darkness"

Posted by JoeDude on 12-26-2004 04:36 PM:

Wink

Hey manofice,

Movie has the "same" title and "same" cast members - wouldn't that mean it's the "same" movie?

I
nside Er'

OH LOOK!! Anna Paquin..

Posted by jibi on 12-26-2004 05:08 PM:

it is quite possibly a 'different cut' as mentioned above. according to IMDB, the MPAA rated it based on an edited version...

Posted by vinnyv07 on 12-26-2004 05:39 PM:

I cant see why people are saying this release is useless or not needed. For those of us that didnt get the DVDR and that cant get it now because it was released 2 years ago, this current version is all that is available. Am I wrong? If they re-release the old DVDR version it would be a different story.

Posted by infinityfsp2002 on 12-26-2004 05:41 PM:

Just because you cannot get the DVDR, doesnt mean it should be re-released. That would be a great excuse for all these lame dvdr-classic groups to keep releasing old stuff again and again, its bad enough as it is.

thats the beauty of having DVDR archives For all others, enjoy the inferior version, but any scene group should do the research. ITs already NUKED on many sites DVD.already.out and check the NFO its the same movie, trust me!!

i agree im grabbing the dvd now as well

Posted by Frostbyte on 12-26-2004 10:04 PM:

Is there a place in the states to buy this on DVD ? Ive seen where you can rent it .. just nothing in the states as far as purchase goes .

Posted by BLEACH on 12-27-2004 12:24 AM:

The official word is that this is a different VERSION of the 2002 movie

meaning same cast, same movie so to speak but Different ending (from what i heard of the old one) and it is edited HEAVILY.

SO in retrospect this is a different version of an old movie

The old one would be considered I guess Directors cut (not edited) and the US release is an edited pg-13 movie.

All this talk about releases, and all I want to know is if Ana Paquin in naked in this or not? Panties, anything?

Posted by Reverenddave on 12-27-2004 02:51 AM:

This movie has been released on DVD all over Europe and Asia. Here's a few DVD reviews for the different official releases:

Korean DVD

Spanish DVD

Swedish DVD

Dutch DVD

French DVD

German DVD

Italian DVD

There's also DVDs from Thailand and Japan, but I haven't seen any reviews.

i guess there´re some german guys glad to have them back in business. take a look at the nfo-notice before they left the stage and you know what i mean... heard from a good friend of mine that they got cam-supply from germany and immediately broke off contact when that cam (or money, dont know exactly) arrived... shame on them. next telesync will show what good that supply has been .

wasted money i guess... lol

Nope: http://www.cndb.com/movie.html?title=Darkness+(2002)

did we see the same movie? I had the spanish Darkness DVD for about a year now and I can guarantee that there is no Anna Paquin boob whatsoever in this film. She does take a bath in the film but it is shot from the side so no boobs on display at all. and yeah, she is very hot in this film and wear sexy clothes, but boobs!!!!

Posted by esaulchris on 01-02-2005 06:37 AM:

I have to agree with nuking this release. sucky release and not to mention it made it difficult to get a real dvd download from the 2002 release. i had to download divx file from limewire
