Review(2003) League of Extraordinary Gentleman
Based on the novel by Alan Moore depicts the graphics of one of the most interesting and perhaps entertaining movies I have seen so far this summer. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen tells the tales of some of the most unlikeliest of Superheros which include Captain Nemo, Allan Quatermain, The Invisible Man, Mina Murray and Dr. Jekyll, all characters from Famous Works of the Literary Nature.
The team is Lead by Allan Quartermain who is played by Legendary Action star, Sean Connery (James Bond), in a role I didn’t think did him much justice., but he pulls it off in fine James Bond form. The world is coming to an end and Quartermain assembles his team of Superheros that face off against a masked madman, known only as the Fantom, who plays to blow up a conference of world leaders by sitting off a chain of explosions, sinking the entire city of Venice which would go to the bottom of the ocean.
With time that they have, The League of Extraordinary Superheros have 9 Hours to save the world.
Director Stephen Norrington (Blade) takes us into a deep and sometimes dark journey of this film, but he manages to pull it off more smooth than Sean Connery’s Other Comic Book Movie, called The Avengers.
The Story of the movie follows the Apex of The Industrial Age, about a madman who has developed a new invincible weapon which would give him capabilities of destroying the world.
I will be honest with you, at first this movie didn’t catch on with me, but this movie does rate a second look, as the Special Effects in LOEG makes it perhaps the Sleeper of 2003.
This Movies Opens on July 11, 2003 and gets a Phat 8 out of 10 .

Wasn't really fond of this movie myself, however I've heard the book was much better. Sean is getting way too old for these types of movies, and it really shows in the fight coreography. Allthough the action sequences towards the end of the movie were OK, the cgi just seemed too overused and was kinda bland. The plot twists were also very predictable, and had me bored by the end of the show. In the last scene of the movie I kind of got the feeling we have a sequel coming... god I hope not.
4/10
Dern, I have been looking foreward to a League movie for a while now and you tell me it is a flop??? The novel was great and would have made a great movie, I will definetly see this movie to judge for myself and I truly hope they didn't ruin Dorian Gray's character...
I have seen reviews giving this 1/2 a star but I still want to see it. Gonna take my nephew and niece to see it this weekend

i was pretty impressed overall, was expecting an x-men rip off, and instead found something with imagination.
quite pleased.
