How to View individual rars

I understand it is possible to view individual rars before the complete file is downloaded.

I have done a forum search, and one of the suggestions was using either VCP or MPC. I have downloaded both or these applications but cannot view the rars I wish to.

Can someone help?????

In vlc, go to file, quick open file, choose the rar and clikc open. Not very hard. If you are downloaing from irc and it is a .tar file, you may not be able to play it.

It only works if the archive has been created with the "STORE" option, if the contents were compressed in any way I doubt it'll work (before you ask, scene releases are "stored")

thanx - managed to get it working.

It is quite hard if you are new to this thing and not used to opening or viewing rars in this way.

i have tried to view rar files from a dvd rip i have d/l 4 rar files and
opened with VLC it will play them but it is played within about 1/2 sec do i need to download more files or am i doing something wrong.
cheers for any advice.
