Hi
I does vcdgear support mpeg1 to dvd. I am looking for a program that can demux(?) the mpeg file so that the audio is compatible with dvd burning/playback. I do not want to recode it.

DVDs are mpeg2 so you will HAVE to re-encode.

just burn it as VCD and if your dvd player cant handel that for some reason....go out and buy a $20 dvd player

no you don't. as the OP said, just transcode the audio to 48khz. use tmpgenc to demux, then use besweet GUI to transcore audio, then remux back with tmpgenc. easy.

well compliant dvds are mpeg2

No, MPEG1 at various resolutions and framerates is listed in the official DVD specs as being compliant.
