heard its a shit player.
but its so damn cheap and plays EVERYTHING!

anyone have any stories who OWN this one?

/me bought one and took it back the next day... Sure it opens a VCD, but when it shows every OTHER second.... gets kinda annoying, i currently have a samsung one for a 120 bucks that plays EVERYTHING and supports 5.1... works like a charm!

One time, my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! I had this player for about 3 months then i upgraded to the 5131 which i found to be a much better player......... sound and picture seemed improved and i have yet to find disk that my 5131 does not play

The good thing about the Apex 1500 is that if your serial # begins with an A, B, C, D you can flash the ROM chip inside and make it macrovision and region free. If the serial # begins with an S you can't do it .. The 5131 gave me a nice picture but broke in 3 weeks ...
Characteristically, Apex players have VG electronics but the mechanical integrity is a little below average

roomate and i are gettin an hdtv... [u know.. w/ drug sales being high and all ].. but we need a progressive scan player that supports vcd/svcd... anyone know of a good one?..
