wii with wiikey operational with problems
the setup disk works, 6 disks work, most dont, all dynex, which read as verbatim in the nero disk checker... who has a hypothesis on why discs are confirmed to be burnt right and dont work
hypothesis
a) Your wii is overheating? Don't leave it on the standby mode (ORange light). To shut it off, hold down the power button on the console till it turns red.
I had this problem and it was very odd, certain games would work (same brand media) certain games wouldn't. After I stopped leaving it on standby it stopped having issues.
Are the 6 discs that work different media to the ones that don't? Are they different games? Are you trying to play Pal games on an NTSC console (or the other way round)? Does it recognise the disc on boot up and not work, or does it just give you the "?" screen?

It's not so much the disk manufacturer as the dye used - the Wii is pretty fussy.
Many people extol the virtues of Taiyo Yuden dyes but personally I prefer Ritek's GO5 dye - hence why I have a buttload of Sumvision Grade-A (certified) disks with the Ritek dye.
If you want a decent online store that actually tells you what dye a disk uses, and they're cheap... Try www.svp.co.uk
But yeah, general consensus seems to be decent disks that use Taiyo Yuden or Ritek GO5 dyes.
