Those blu-ray xvid rips
I got myself some of those blu-ray xvid rips that are floating about.
Pretty good quality.
(some are 1280x720)
I'm sure most of you have downloaded 1 at some point.
Anyway I put them on a disc and tried playing them in my ps3 and 360 but they look pretty blocky.I didn't even bother with the transcoding stuff like tversity.
I decided to stream them through my old original xbox though. (with the hd component cable)
XBMC plays them perfectly.
Just thought I'd share that if anyone was interested.

what disc did you try and put them on??
Tried them on a verbatim also got a few on some ri-discs.
I've heard similar reports from browsing about that people have found these to be a little blocky on the ps3 and 360.

burnt as ordinary dvd roms ????
eh it's just a media file burnt as data.
I am not saying they are really blocky there is just a noticeable blockiness to them when played on the 360 and ps3.
Ri-Discs are fine as are Verbatims of course in my opinion.
All discs have faults here and there.
I rarely use discs nowadays so doesn't matter.
Personally think its the shitty codecs ps3 and 360 have.
Could be wrong I don't care it makes more sense for me to stream it through my old xbox anyway.
But to add to that the discs play fine on my old xbox even if i choose not to stream.
