Video is nice, but I wonder if it might be too thin, maybe it's just me. The TS was so good, I'm amazed at how much in this I really didn't miss.

Not the best video quality i've ever seen for a 2 cd rip but not bad. Will do nicely.

M=?? Have not watched yet, but will soon as i get this to dvd.

This may not be a Dvdrip.. If it is, they messed up encoding the video. There is several glitches in the video. Blurry pixels, and a weird motion blurr. DvdSCR??

Audio is great. Nice AC3. Perfect for a 6.1 system.

Rated as a dvdrip

i always get suspicious when groups release xvid way before retail and no dvdr follows it.

as it goes, there is a dvdshrinked dvdr doing the rounds and i suspect they encoded it from that... might be wrong.

either way

video - 8 - pretty good... something about it i cant place my finger on though, just looks a bit flaky in parts

audio - 9 - fine

movie - 5 - pretty shit

I think cause they only used 1 pass on the encoding to rush it out to the scene

tho i might also be wrong

looks okay but i cant wait for the DVDR then i can go and buy the HD DVD

Sounds good to me.

Not bad, quite entertaining i thought.

just put this to a dvd after recoding it to dvd.. watching it now.. and a total difference on my dvd player, not as much as bad blurry pixels, boxy too.. or motion blures. way better on with the dvd...

According to the r5 realese dates list, it's not supposed to be out till November...
So its a genuine DVDRip (I suspected its a cropped DVDScr, byt the ar and res looks real to me).

A bit blocky during actions scenes when viewed on a bigger screen. But still, this is not bad.

as previously mentioned; blocky / pixelated at times, watched on a 19" Widescreen LCD

audio is simply amazing on my 5.1 system and in sync

what more can i say, the fact that this came out early makes up for the slight blockiness...
def. gonna pick up the dvdr though

excellent movie - great brainless candy film, after all why watch transformers if you're expecting oscar material.

only a lower pic score cos I feel at 144mins it should be a 3cd release, or at the very least a few more passes at the encoding

who the hell would do a 1pass on xvid (or divx for that matter). that's also against the rules if i remember correctly.

anyway, from sample:

v=7 (could have been better if there have been retail and/or? encoding skillz involved, but heh it seems to be watchable from sample)
a=9 (ac3, nice)
m=?

absolutely UNACCEPTABLE video.
especially for 2 cd's.

pixelation everywhere in motion sequences.

v = 5.
a = 7. sounds low.

Posted by Extractor on 09-22-2007 04:27 AM:

After the credits there are 1-frame stills of dubbed credits (names of french and spanish dubbing speakers) which I suppose were in the same VOB they extracted to encode the video. For me that's a clear indication that the source is some sort of retail dvd. However, the encoding is horrible...

V = 5
A = 9
M = 8

The point of this forum is to give an opinion on the quality, so don't bother with the 'it's free' crap. Of course it's free but let people complain if it's crap.

The video isn't the best for a dvdrip. It IS from a retail dvd, but they obviously rushed it to get it out early, that's what happens sometimes. It should probably be nuked. Expect a DVDR in the next few hours anyway from CuriousJotos.

A-8.5 very decent
M-10 excellent movie
Flaite should have done a re rip to get this flik right for quality

DVD-R by mVs folks go get it as vcdquality won't nuke this shit xvid.......or wait for a superb proper that gets nuked lmao

don't know why they rush? They should do 2pass. Transformers to be Released on DVD / HD-DVD October 16th in USA

it's real DVD9 or great R5/TC?

Shit, 1pass, i will use postprocesing

V - 8(becouse 1pass)

/Edit:

I think they must do repack and make it on 3cd and use a little sharpen because it sometimes little blurry

Posted by AndrewM on 09-22-2007 07:53 PM:

v:7 (I was actually tempted to give it a six - its either a bad coversion or not a full commercial dvd source. I live in Russia - some of the releases here are not bad... R5 is no excuse. There's some blur and boxing, especially in some action scenes).
a:8 solid.
m:8 liked it. now I'm sorry I didn't see it in the cinema but I hate the dubbed versions they have here.

I registered just to comment on this release.

Watched this on a media pc connected to a standard definition CRT TV (29 inch) using only stereo channels (no 5.1 or anything). I feel this might be relevant - were I to watch this on a HD theatre setup I don't think I'd expect the same quality - but this isn't a HD rip, nor a full DVDR. Those with standard def setups should be happy to download this, those with HD setups might want another release.

The video was near seamless the only blurring I was conscious of was during 1 sequence early on, and to be honest it looked pretty close to an intentional motion blur effect applied during rendering - could be wrong as I never saw this movie at the cinemas. It seemed a little dark, but again could have been the production not the rip and simply adjusting the tv picture corrected it.

And on a 2-channel stereo setup the audio was quiet and the mid-tones were a bit lost, but once more a couple of tweaks to the tv and all was good.

It may be a 1-pass, I don't have the "skillz" to detect that - but it's (on my SD setup anyway) as good or better than any other DVD rip I've snatched.

Maybe someone watching on a HD setup could offer a more detailed opinion on quality.

Posted by dontgiveafuck on 09-25-2007 03:44 AM:

compare this with Live free or die hard,

and you'll see how horrible the encoding is on this.

Live Free action sequences don't have big ass boxy pixellation.

I completely agree with the video quality. Very blocky at times. Not normal for a 2 CD rip at all.
