Fuck yea! Great Quality, Great Film! I don't care if it is a rip off of some japanese horror flick that doesn't mean it's a bad movie in itself! Thanks TCF!!! 9/10/10 (Would have given you guys a 10 for video but that Property of DreamWorks made me knock off a point but it's coo! not your fault!!!). This movie owns, scary as hell imo.

knock of a "point" for something you knew was going to be there? rofl only screener i ever got that didn't have a "promo" message was road to predition.

i do not mind these messages but the ones that stay there for 40 minutes then go away for 5 minutes then come back for 40 more piss me off
movie:mostly like fear dot com i think they both sucked big time.
rip:i don't think i will get it but since i'm such an ass and posted before i got the rip i will download the sample when i get a chance to post on video/audio

There are many screeners with no watermarks, some of TCF's FS releases that I've downloaded and quite a few DVD Screeners from various groups. And you can NOT compare this to FearDotCom (which I agree with you sucks more than a 2 dollar whore), compared to many "horror" films these days this one is pretty good and I also agree with TCF about Naomi Watts being HOT Can't wait to see her on the cover of a maxxim

Posted by m-drew on 12-23-2002 01:04 PM:

I watched the FTF version, didnt really like the movie, but I think the quality took the effect away from me.

I'll download it since im a freak, and download all the screeners.

Thanks TCF, you guys are just the best in the scene!

6/8/*

Hope the watermarks arent on all the way through the movie.

Does Anyone read nfo's? It says right in the notes, 'widescreen'. So I guess it's widescreen.

so what did you like better about the ring then fear dot com the fact that the only thing diffrent was that it didn't take place around a computer? even fear dot com was based around a "little girl" so i think it's pretty fair that i compare the movies

and forgive me if i'm wrong because i'm still new to the scene but i thought dvd screeners and just a "screener" was 2 diffrent things 1 has better quality? if i'm wrong ignore

ok, so the version i was watching WAS the TCF.... anywho, quality is merely OK. WS is pretty spiffy, but, for first time viewers the Property of Dreamworks really distracts from a damn good movie. o_o *sighs*

at least this was one hell of a birthday present today... =]

I just finished watching this on my standalone a few hours ago and the quality is definitely better than OK, the property of dreamworks was a bit distracting at first but once I got into the movie it was sort of transparent to me. If the counter and watermark wasn't there this would have been the perfect rip! I love this film, sorry for rambling... haven't seen many good domestic horror movies lately.

Posted by flipp0r on 12-24-2002 03:31 PM:

Thanks TCF
I watched the FTF version (suffered through it i mean)
and your version definitely beat the hell out of theirs!
video alone! Grrrrrrreeeeaaaat stuff!
8/6/9

i may be the only one here, lol, to think this, but i think the lesser quality of the other movies added another element to the movie. i thought it lended itself well. movies like this shouldnt be TO polished, lol.

Posted by CATBOX on 12-24-2002 04:39 PM:

This is one of my favorite Horror movies of all time. And believe me, i have seen many, many horror movies. Watching a low quality FTF version did add kind of a spooky element to it, but i will still be watching the DVD when i buy it! This version will hold me over until then. The only thing thats frustrating about this release is that everytime i search for it, i always get flooded with "lord of THE RINGs" stuff. Very frustrating. Thanks for posting the jpeg burns. Looks good.

I don't rate without seeing the release.

Yeah I can see where your'e coming from, the picture quality added a griminess to the tone.

Fucking good flicl too, i'll have to pick up a copy of the screener.

Yep you search and search and appears a lot of LOTR stuff, anyway I have downloaded the cd1, its a lot better that the FTF release, the sound is great, image is great too.

The only problem is that 'property of dreamworks' and the counter which rests a little of the grade i give it:

7/8/9

Posted by nitemare on 12-24-2002 09:28 PM:

8/9/6

great release from TCF. pic+sound near perfect.
movie was o.k. expected more. not really that scary. very confusing. didnt make sense thru many parts. ending was very confusing as well. worth the view though.

Posted by nvr on 12-25-2002 03:54 AM:

Awesome . 9/9/8. Only an 8 on the movie cause it wasnt gory enough in my opinion Silence Of The Lambs >Hannibal > Red Dragon but still worth watching.

The only problem with this release is the time index in the top corner and the "property of dreamworks studio" label in the middle of the entire movie. For many people those two faults in the movie can be annoying. Unfortunately I downloaded the movie before the jpg was put up on vcdquality. Other then that the release kicks @$$. The movie was really well done. It's based on a book by a chinese writer, I think. The book did really well too.

Hats off to TCF for another excellent release. This has to rank right up there with Red Dragon for scary movies this year.

Mak.

I just wish they would have used the right TITLE for calling this release. NOT a Screener, but WORKPRINT. The time code is what a workprint has on it, and a screener only has property rights pop up from time to time. This is just a test release, and VHS at that from the tape balance at the begging that was adjusted. Good film but NOT for the arcives as the final, that's why they should use the damn right heading for what it is..sheeze!!!!!!!

nope, im afraid you're wrong. a timecode is perfectly acceptable for a screener, along with property messages, b&w segments etc. in fact, every single screener tape i ever watched in the uk has been timecoded, its just down to the distributer what 'extras' a screener ships with. personally i dont mind timecodes cos i dont have a watch

Most of MGM's DVD SCREENERS have timecodes so are they dvd workprints? LOL, I've seen a countless amount of retail screeners bought from ebay (yes, the actual vhs retail screeners with cover and all) and some even have timecodes like Orange County. And as pHo said, 90% of uk screeners also have timecodes.

This is a pretty good release, being alittle dark and the fast motion scenes dont look good. The audio is ok for what it is.
This is missing scenes.
I would advise getting the UTi release if you can.

hmmm, my guess is he got the ring confused with lord of the rings. anyway kickass release from tcf as always. 8/9/8

Posted by Mystic Slippers on 12-29-2002 02:24 PM:

A good release. Nice, crisp picture and great audio. The 'Property Of...' that stays on for the entire movie is annoying as hell. But it doesn't bother me anyway as this movie is a FUCKING PILE OF SHIT!

7/7/3

Posted by nine-volt on 12-30-2002 04:05 AM:

pff

this movie sucked.
Video was ok, annoying Property of Dreamworks message and counter throughout. Audio was good. 7/7/2

Posted by Boywunda on 12-30-2002 11:57 PM:

Well I happen to be dling tcf's the ring at this present moment. I had a cam of it a month ago (cannot remember who made it) and was disappointed with the picture, but now I'm looking forward to this one. You can always trust tcf screeners!!
