Ive always said a TC done right will outdo any screener..... good example here.

Directly digital from film to a laptop\pc with the digital audio track.

ctp rls sucked because of the ar and encoding problems. the recode would be nice were it not *internal*...

so before i download this... is it the correct (ntsc) ar or what?

how can i tell? tcs dont have angle, flickering brightness and dark corners. tcs are in dolby surround, not mono. apart from that, spiderman was filmed in 35mm open matte, that means normal scenes would have AR of 4:3, effect scenes 1,85:1 (as it shows in cinema 1,85:1, film gets matted). You can see these AR changes in ctp TS and TEG screener. Now, this FTF fake TC has something more like 2,xx:1 during WHOLE movie. A real TC (like "Evolution" for example back in the days) wouldnt have that. You could see AR changes there as well. Before you start flaming me, get your AR and TC facts straight.

TEG already released an internal screener.....

A good release. The AR isn't perfect, just the same as a CTP release.

I've watched this now: here's the REVIEW.

It's better than the 2 CD re-encodes I've seen, but not better than the original 3 CD Ctp-svcd. It's a little darker and it seems a little too compressed. On the plus side, the audio quality rocks, and the colors are great. Also, no occasional boom mikes. Truthfully, it feels like an improved re-encode of what was out there before. Nice to see FTF (which *does* mean Fuck the Feds-- read their nfo's sometime, skunky) spreading their wings.

If the AR is off like the cent release then its just a vcd encode of that...............kinda cool cause i'm having probs with joining all 3 svcd with tmpge, svcd2 wont take, end up with a short movie with alot of the middle missing.
Just dont have the time to deal with it, have a few "non svcd" friends with lousy dvd players..like sony, jvc etc.......apex forever!!
So this release would work great for them

hello im a newbie but i just downloaded the sample and i think the color is good but the quality sucks centropy has great quality rls but they always have problems with the brightness of em if centropy would fix that they would be the best

I really dont get it. It's a movie, It's free. the point is to watch it. If it looks good, even better. (no reason to have a hissy fit). Personally my version of spiderman from centropy I could not get it to be skip-free on some of the discs. Burned 3 different times, different cd-r media, used 4 different computer dvd/cd players. Yet when I extracted the mpeg2 and watched with codec in media player, smooth as a whistle (can we say bad svcd encoding job). So I mean honestly, I want this one for my collection, cause 2 discs can beat out 3 when done right!

So all in all, I'd rather have this release; compliant and runs smooth on ALL my players.

This is Definitely a release of CTP
reencoded into VCD cropped and labeled
telecine. (bad aspect ratio by the way
its squash) The colors and the feel of
the picture has all the traits of CTP
release. If you can't distinquish this
then its time to find a new hobby.
you all should know what to expect from a
telesync(audio seperated) cam , a vhs screener,
a dvd screener, PDVD, and a telecine. if
you been in the scene a long time then you don't
even have to wear glasses to know.

I compared the CTP & the FTF release
on the same scene side by side it has the same
typical brightness problems found on telesyncs.
a telecine does not have this problem.
a cam is not use on telecines but a machine
that transfers it to a recorder and sound
is plugged into the main output of the source.
so you get a descent sound usually encoded
with dolby pro-logic and picture.
the copy should look very close or even
better than a VHS (first generation copy). If you have
kiss of the dragon release way back (not sure who
released it), that was a real telecine.

If you cant find xpd's internal reencode of ctp
release or you cant play SVCD then this is for you.
