Ta.

edit:: The audio is FUCKING LOVELY. Video is very umm...orange. Has a very slight slant to it, but it's virtually impossible to spot. Shit, i ain't moaning. This is the best version by far.

There is an angle, and its noticable, based on the first disc.
But the video is: 9

Okey!

Ive got the movie and watched it!
So far its almost the best out yet
good video, and very good audio, but the angle, in the sample its not really noticable, but in the whole flick it IS VERY noticable
But if you have VIMs release than dont dl this

BEst regards for Centropy for this release but angle angle is fu*kin this release up again.

Posted by GeNeTiX on 07-04-2003 07:46 AM:

video looks a tad dark, and the angle is there, not noticeable unless you look for it. Bottom and top cropped too, makes it look widescreen. Colour doesnt look as good as Bruce almighty or saving nemo, maybe just the sample from that part of the movie didnt have much colour
sound is superb
what a great sample, cameron diaz shakin her butt

Haven't watched the entire film yet but from the sample the pic is nice and crisp but there's a bit too much colour/saturation (the women look like they're got fake tan on and Cameron's legs glow like they were in a soap powder commercial). Other than that the audio is above average and it's got some fine looking women in it...

8/9/dunno (though I'll award the sample a 10 'cos of Cameron shaking her arse)

CAN'T TOUCH THIS!!

Not Much I can add...........Release is almost as hot as Demi Moore in a bathing suit....SMASHING..........
YOU GUYS ARE SIMPLY BEST!!!!

Posted by Wheely on 07-04-2003 03:21 PM:

Nice rls as usual from CTP.

Great pic and excellent audio. To bad they couldn't get that dark orange tint out of their pic. Its been in a lot of their rls lately.

And once, I'd like to see CTP not crop the hell out of it.. the bottom is missing stuff. They seem to do that alot also lately !!
But overall excellent rls.

8/9/6

6 = for the no plot, unbelievable stunts...
This movie should have been called :

not up to usual ctp standards
video sharp but over saturated, but audio was kind of annoying, especially on disc 2 dialog was muffled/distoreted and i had to turn it up pretty loud to be able to understand everything. Movie was entertaining but basically just a music video
7/6/5

Video as usual very good for a TS.
Audio as usual very good for a centropy release.
Movie bad as expected...

GREAT TS! Finally a decent copy, look forward to watching this tonight. Nice, crisp image...a bit over saturated like some have said, but, it will do. Audio is the typical centropy quality, and I give them some points for that excellent clip because Diaz is...*me dies drooling while trying to finish my statement*

I'm not sure why they have to crop it so much. The movie was played in widescreen so they shouldn't need to crop into the movie. Anyone know why that happens?

Usually it doesn't bother me but sometimes like with this one it does. Lots of people missing their foreheads and necks and you can't read the subtitles.

Posted by EmPreSS on 07-06-2003 02:22 AM:

This offering by centropy is beneath their standards imo. The audio is great as usual, but the image has too much color and is a tad dark when i play on my standalone. Still, I've got no complaints. It's the next best thing to seeing it in the theater.

Actually, the movie plays in Scope, which is much wider than wide-screen. If thay have cropped it on top and bottom to make it look like widescreen, then a lot of the side must have been cropped as well.

Well I understand "scope" being 2.35:1, is that correct? That's the same letterbox size used in CTP's release here. I compared a same shot in this release to the trailer and found that 30% of the vertical frame is cropped out (10% off the top and 20% off the bottom). The sides are cropped but a lot less than the top/bottom.

Now with Hulk, that should be originally 2.35:1 also but CTP letterboxed the release for 16:9 there. Definitely easier to watch (people aren't cut from their bottom lip to their eyebrows) but I imagine a lot more from the sides is cropped (haven't compared to the trailer).

I guess what I'm trying to understand is if the theatre aspect is 2.35:1 (is that correct?) then why does so much get lost when CTP letterboxes the same at 2.35:1?

Posted by Betty on 07-06-2003 05:56 PM:

Ok, I guess I was just confused by the term Widescreen then. Widescreen is actullay 1,85:1, which is a bit wider than 16:9 (1,77:1). =) Well, that's not completely true either, because there are several different "widescreens". But the most commonly used it 1,85:1.

My guess is that since this is a telesync, they just weren't able to fit the entire width of the screen on their camera. So instad of releasing what they had, they cropped it to get the right format. Hoping that noone would notice.

Good quality pic and audio

8/8/6 from me

Posted by Bluntmaster on 07-07-2003 12:53 AM:

7/7/6

this release is good but not usual ctp quality. the cropping hurts the movie (subtitltes can't be read) and some parts are painfully bright.

Posted by NeVeRLiFt on 07-07-2003 06:37 AM:

This release is good but cropped some, there is no noticable angle and the colors are good but can come off really orange at times. Tweaks the colors and contrast/brightness for the picture. The movie was good and like how it played off stuff the TV series did.

Audio = 8
Video = 8 (tweak colors are its orangish tinted IMHO)
Movie = 7-8 (Good movie)

Very nice release and will due till we get the DVDrip

Posted by dalton4life on 07-07-2003 07:49 AM:

Nice sharp picture. Nice Audio. But too much color and, too much orange and too much cropping. Angle isn't too bad well not as bad as finding Nemo anyway. The movie was too goofy for my tastes but the women are hot.

8/8/6

Posted by Mean Machine on 07-07-2003 06:59 PM:

8/9/7

Colours are very nice after being tweaked on the tv, but as has already been established the video is cropped. I thought the audio was very nice even though the soundtrack is annoying as hell. The movie is not bad, I think peoples ratings are often pulled up by the fact that the women in this movie are HOT.

Posted by typesdragon on 07-07-2003 11:43 PM:

CTP does it again. Everything great except the cropping.

Posted by afoster2k3 on 07-08-2003 08:42 PM:

downloaded this today

thought the video quality was very good. Definitely watchable, pretty much VHS quality. Sound seemed wierd at first but my tv audio settings were wrong. Once i changed my settings audio was fine.

the film itself... good, but nothin special

Posted by ippe on 07-11-2003 02:18 AM:

bad crop, bad angle, very bad color balance, average audio... too bad more and more ctp rls“s are like this

Posted by Athena on 07-12-2003 02:37 AM:

Well... a typical CTP release. The colors are very..... collorfull. Damn in some scene's the face of Drew is shining orange, damn :P
The sound was very, very good. The movie very, very bad
The first 30 minutes, the movie is blowing you away with action, special effects and funny scene's. But after 30 minutes... the real story begins, thats when the movie starts to suck. The first few scene's on the motorcycles are done very well but it has completly nothing to do with the storyline.

picture: 7
audio: 8
movie: 5

Very nice quality here lads, the videos nice, a bit cropped at the bottom, but very watchable, sound is gr8, but not quite cd quality. The movie was pants though, what a poor storyline

pretty good rip, VERY crappy movie!

8/8/2

Posted by thewhizz on 07-27-2003 11:53 PM:

good quality but pooh film

8/8/2.5 (.5 for the girls in it)

Posted by xxdjs715xx on 07-28-2003 04:47 PM:

picked this up !

heres what i think

video - 9 a little pixelated but not even bad at all. all good quality.

audio - 10 excellent non dvd sound

movie - 7

Posted by IanM on 08-04-2003 10:21 PM:

Video quality is fine, the sound is also fine. The film sucks but that isn't Centropy's fault

My only real problem with the release is the angle/cropping.

I assume that the two are related. i.e. the transfer was done at a slight angle to the screen. In order to conceal this the top and bottom had to be masked. I think the camera angle in this one was a lot more extreme than other rls's so the masking is greater to cover it up.

Does that make any sense?

Anyway, good work Centropy.

Posted by Vcdman45 on 08-13-2003 06:55 PM:

Once again CTP kicks everyones ass on a GREAT rls!! this is yet another example why CTP is the best group around!! PROPS!!!

9/9/7

Posted by Fireball29 on 09-12-2003 06:09 AM:

I even don't get this. Some guys are talking about a great release (u need glasses pals), others about angles and cropping (me too).

In my opinion there are a lot of people pushing ctp releases, they aren't that good really. There are a lot of groups coming up, like NOX etc.

Don't get this wrong, ctp are doing great releases, but their angle und cropping problems suck that much.

Cheers,
Fireball
