I Robot *SVCD* - TELECINE - TUN

ughhh, wtf... ive heard rumours floating around about this being just a good reincode of videocds, i dont give a fuck about you cockriders, but im thinking it is too, ill let you all know for sure once cd1 finishes shortly...

current rating: 8/8/8

Edit:
quick note: yes videocd didnt release this, i said frankly rumours about 5 people expressed to me they were reincoding... My rating stands i just finished watching the tc, because i apperciate the movie, my guess is this is a pdvd? anyways good release, but not the best tc ive seen, I think that award goes to the Jurassic Park TC, if anyone remembers that... anyways props TUN

Going by sample very nice indeed. Colours are vibrant and the sound is awesome. Maybe a tad dark, but thats prolly the movie. This one's definetely a keeper.

yeah i seen them rumours too (except not from videocd ), my guess would be they didnt take a look at the fucker before they auto nuked it... This source screams TC.

Posted by Jassll on 08-21-2004 05:51 PM:

Would of been better if a TC was released a while ago but this will do. Thanks TUN.

VideoCD did not release a copy of that movie... Anyway, TC's are always darker than normal

good release anyway, its definitely NO recode of some TS.

Posted by stezo2k on 08-21-2004 07:10 PM:

Good release, a little late though, quality is a little lower than expected for a telecene

Quality is about the same as the centropy release, and the xvid telecene which was released at the same time

audio and video quite nice. colors more vibrant and not washed out like earlier centropy ts. not a re-encode unless they have a great anti-flicker filter. if you judge the same scene from ts vs tc the tc has hardly any flicker if any. so overall a great release. my only complaint is that it's 2.5 cds, not a full 3. cd3 is undersized by over 150mb.

You guys do great work and its well appreciated on my end. Keep them coming....

9/9/8 movie was pretty damn good. I enjoyed every second of it, extremely entertaining and the action was very good. Nice special effects, decent story and sort of a surprise ending.

I appreciate TUN's recent work. Their release of anchorman was the best even with the weird crop. Perhaps with this rls and other they are redeeming themselves after all the nukes and flames ;0.

Nice Telecine, but not the best. The audio rox though.

As far as the movie its a good TC dont know why 3 disks but thats a personal comment.

GREAT JOB TUN!!! Man you guys really did a Very nice job on this one. The video is really nice on this. The colors are very vibrant and it looks extraordinarily clean and crisp. The audio is Excellent as well. It really filled up my Home Theater Surround Sound System and made it rock. TUN, I really appreciate all the Hard Work you guys put into getting and perfecting these TC's. Personally, I thought The Day After Tomorrow as well as Troy were both Very Nice Telecines also. Most people thought they were very blocky or had Terrible encodes done on them but they looked Excellent on my Television. Thanks Again for the Excellent work you guys do and Please Keep Em Coming!!!

Umm... ok. What a crappy TC. The video is a bit better (more clear, less motion blur) than Centropy's... but that could be wholly contributed to the fact that it's 3 CDs instead of 2. Add to that the fact that there are annoying sidebars and the A/R is clearly off (people seemed stretched on the vertical axis) and I can't see any other reason for this [late] release.

The only redeeming quality of this copy is the audio.

A: 9
V: 6

I liked the movie... it was much better than I expected it to be.

Movie was worth seeing.

Posted by E-Male on 08-23-2004 07:49 AM:

the AR indeed is off
use restream to set it to 16:9 and it'll look much better
(on that way i'll also try to marry it with dts audio)

decent video, again, the sidebars can be annoying, but liveable. good audio. movie was good, dont expect a lot of corny will smith jokes.

btw in some places this was nuked for being a re encode of the german TOE release, but the thing is that got released AFTER this, wtf?

The ToE release is just a reencode of the telesync and its bad quality, pixelated and so....

How lame to nuke TUN only because the nukers donĀ“t like them ...

Posted by fluffinator on 08-25-2004 01:26 PM:

welcome to my world, nukers nuking cause they dislike the names of rls groups.

This is a very solid release, with a few slight issues stated above, which can easily be fixed.

Angry

This is a Crock! The pic seen on vcdquality isnt even the same as the movie.. What a waste of time for a 3 part movie when all 4 sides are cropped tremedously. The pic on vcdquality is incorrect.
The widescreen was better.

Posted by Skynet on 08-26-2004 12:52 AM:

very nice release to be sure, clean picture and excellent sound. As mentioned the aspect ratio is off but not severely so. Either set the video to 16:9 or if you are re-encoding to DVD like I did you can resize it to the correct aspect.

Good release, worth getting

Video: 8
Audio: 9
movie: 8

edit: if you remove the borders on the left and the right side, the aspect ratio is correct. AVI2DVD can do this for those who re-encode to DVD.

Posted by rotorman67 on 08-26-2004 12:06 PM:

Cool trippin on bush

Better quality release than centropy. A little late as others have said. If you don't have the centropy copy, get this one instead.

trippin should be banned for using this forum to advertise his political beliefs. I read reviews on this site to find the best quality releases, not to see someone ranting about politics. If I wanted to see a free Bush add, I can turn on Fox News. I've seen some other sigs that were political too but they weren't so large as his. He uses up more space for his sig than for his rating. If the Admins are going to allow political sigs, they should be restricted to a much smaller size.

Posted by Miller on 08-27-2004 11:54 PM:

hey its finnaly nuked on vcdq . the sidebars were just to much. it was nuked on most sites i have axx to after cd1 was upload hehe . anyway their is a nice TC out now

Stupid Nukers, there is very little difference between this and the SKF release.

As for the sidebars, they help the quality, anyone with a tiny amount of knowledge on mpeg encoding knows that.

Watch it on a TV from now on before commenting on shit, they arent visible, why dont these kids listen, this has been said by loads of people on here before.

Posted by Skynet on 08-28-2004 03:02 AM:

How do bars help video quality? WTF? If anything they hurt the quality because there is less horizontal resolution.

The nuke is stupid IMO because this is a good quality release, nice colours and clean image. Never mind the nuke this is by far the best version out there.

Posted by Redemption198 on 08-28-2004 02:03 PM:

quote:

Because black bars dont take any bitrate to encode, and whats the point in bitrate being wasted on a bit of the screen that isnt visible on a TV, and the Horizontal resolution isnt affected at all.

Check videohelp.com for a better explanation

Though i do agree this is a stupid nuke, the nukers are obviously not checking any of the releases and only going on rumours and gossip.
