wow ... took 5 days since VideoCD's TS got released to release this TC?

::rollseyes::

No real sources got put into this once again, only props i give is for the group to actually encode and release it.

As far as sources go, this is clearly the same TC copy from torrent days ago, its dark as hell (reminds me of Centropy's copy of Cinderella Man)

Sound is clearly from VideoCD's TS - check rar f4svcdb.r46, you can hear the audio change from mono english audio to clean russian audio, VideoCD's copy didnt have the credits so where VideoCD's TS audio ended, so did it on this TC, also on rar47 some russian guy speaks (nomally would just be sound)

So as far as original source, two thumbs down.

For takin the time to download video from torrent and sync VideoCD's TS audio ... guess some users will want this.

Dark as hell, and not a major difference between VideoCD's TS & this TC, im going to avoid.

As a TC:
6/6/7

I dont understand why -SVCD, -GNP, -SCR, among other groups are fighting over these sources when none of them clearly have seen a telecine machine.

Hell, how hard is it to reencode and sync audio, this should have been out 5 days ago.

you just cant take a shitty comic book, and turn it into a good movie...for those of you who liked the comic, nathaniel richards storyline ? i mean come on...how many times can they team up with other people ? this is about as good as bringing an avengers movie to screen..then steps in hollywood......same dull dialogue as x-men 1 with less interesting characters...

Posted by Hairyhamster on 07-22-2005 08:51 PM:

from sample..... video is real sweet
audio has a nasty hiss to it

9/7/

will get full now and check it on standalone

not managed to see the sample for this yet. how bad is the hiss compared to videocd's rls? and is it good compared to other tc's?

Posted by Hairyhamster on 07-22-2005 09:23 PM:

its not a hiss like a cam hiss, more of a not loud enough too quiet hiss !!.. hard to say for sure on pc... will be checking on standalone soon

If you haven't seen this yet but still want to, this is a fine copy to grab. It's very watchable, but it does have some issues.

Video is good, but there seems to be a very slight vertical stretch to everyone.

Audio is also good, but there seems to be little glitches in it every once in a while...not too noticable though, so it certainly doesn't ruin the film.

I can't say I noticed the hiss that others have mentioned.

The movie itself is nothing special.

Posted by SilentAssassin on 07-23-2005 10:57 AM:

The picture is really good, very crisp and clear. Grainy texture to it, but seems most TC's do. Audio is average, not got much umf to it, like its lacking bass. Spot on release and is finally the one that I have downloaded the full version of.

Problem though, on CD2 at about the 18min mark when Jessica Alba and the Ioan Griffith (SP?) visit the planetarium, the audio is out of synch. It seems as though the source of video was cut differently than the source of the audio. Once that scene is over, about 40secs, the audio goes back in synch.

It seems, from what I have been reading that the same problem exists in all the other TC releases. I am downloading the DVDR from FCR at the moment so will be able to clarify that one soon. Can anyone confirm the rest?

from sample:

pic seems very nice for a tc, the audio seems average (for a tc) and very much like the videocd audio quality wise. has those glitches every so often...

and did anyone notice just before the end credits where the audio changed to the original one and some foreign guy was reading out the credits in another language? made me laff...

anyway, even though ive watched the ts ill get the full rls anyway...damn!

9/7/7.5-entertaining but not as good as it looked on trailer

:edit: skimmed through full rls and on the ski slope scene you can really tell there is absloutely no bass at all and tinny. on the 20th century logo it sounds as if the source was too loud and there was too much treble. it also doesnt seem very correctable

:edit 2: nice to see it isnt stolen audio, videocd's started later than this so it cant have been taken from their svcd. it is also higher pitched. mustve been from the same 'supplier'.

Posted by pvt_klaas on 07-23-2005 01:02 PM:

yeah, nice TC video is top (but i got a littke bit pixelation at a few points, but that could also be my player) and audio is acceptable..? only a shame that groups don't want to take an identity anymore, maybe the smartest thing to do.

Anyway: very nice TC and pretty fast.

If you have access to better sources or do a better/quicker job encoding etc. then by all means release and get your due credit, otherwise quit bitching...

Video 8 kinda dark nothing i cant fix by watching on the tv.
Audio 7. its got too much treble and not enough bass, sounds hollow.
movie watched it. it was decent. some parts were cheesy, and the climax was so sudden i found myself sad that the movie was over. overall ill give it 7

As stated in many of the previous posts the soundtrack was very weak with lifeless bass. The picture did make up for this though and made it a must grab. Id rather have tinny sound and a mint pic than mint sound and a washed out mess of a visual. Whos still overburning cdrs anyway?????.....dvd is here my friend lol

movie is OK; 5

Movie was actually very good...I enjoyed watching this one. Going in I thought it would be another bad comic book movie.

Posted by vurtX on 07-24-2005 10:46 PM:

THE SCENE IS DEAD YET THE TC'S KEEP COMIN ..

video = 9 near perfect telecine.
audio = 5 clear but tinny, no bass .
film = 5 kids will love it, I fell asleep twice, but the Thing just about saves it from shitsville...

lipsync issues are very minor & not worthy of a nuke .. but they happen a few times & last for 30 seconds each.

Posted by houseofkrazees on 07-24-2005 11:47 PM:

part 1 won't fit on an 80min Cd-r

Posted by ant on 07-25-2005 01:57 AM:

I watched on a standalone...and i must say,the picture really is nice....as for audio,it lacks bass and has to much treble ,but if you have a stereo tv thats a easy fix,if not it still won't prevent you from enjoying this movie......as for movie, its pretty good not as bad as some make it out to be....overall this is a very nice rls, there is nothing about this copy that would prevent you from enjoying this movie,GREAT JOB.

audio is clearly out of sync in at least 3 parts of film for around 30-60 secs apiece ...picture quality is fine..movie has stretched AR but very watchable..not a bad movie but could have been better with better actors and actresses..
7/6/6

I personally give this:

v: 9 (very, very nice picture, a little dark in parts... but DAMN it's nice)
a: 6 (tinny as hell and completely mono. Very easy to hear the voices and whats going on though)
m: 8 (I don't see what all the fuss is about? This was a good movie if you watch it for what it is)

Pretty Nice Release except for the sound. I didn't have overburn issues on CD1 because I put it on 1 DVD :P The movie was ok for what it was (marvel comics), the climax just didn't quite do it for me (if you know what I mean).

Decent movie, Jessica Alba was hot in her uniform and that's worth an extra point. Video was pretty good but the audio was lacking. I got used to it after a bit but it sounded like it could've come through a nice telephone.

Overall good quality, the synch error is minor, only for 1 minute, bad thing is CD1 you have to overburn, and my dvd writer does not support overburn, so I had to cut out parts of the film, i.e. the begining 1st minute.

Thank you for the release.
After watching full movie on standalone.

V - 9 nice and sharp
A - 6 to much treble not enough bass, only noticed a sync issue at the planetarium.
M - 8 very entertaining, should have done more on the fight with Doom.

Posted by frak on 07-31-2005 11:10 AM:

finally got around to watching this the other night on the TV..

for whatever reason I couldn't overburn disc 1... so i ended up
using tmpgenc mpeg tools to trim off the first minute of the
movie.

otherwise -- the video is superb. great colors and sharp. Audio
is great - less the few sections it goes out of sync, but that
only lasts like a total of 30 seconds.

movie was ok.. they should have picked a bigger actor to play
the thing. looked like he was 5'7...

v: 8.5

Okay, saw this in theaters first... Video was a little choppy at times and had a few instances of pixelation. Audio was out of sync a couple of time, most priminately in cd3 for about 30 seconds. Movie itself isn't that bad considerin it's an origin movie. CAN'T WAIT till part two (GALACTUS w/SILVER SURFER).

Video was decent for a telecine release. Color vibrance was a touch off but we can't expect miracles here.

Audio was clear. I heard a popping sound in the beginning of the film. The scene taking place in the planetarium goes out of sync. This occurs for a total duration of approximately 40 seconds. At the end of the film audio cut from a stereo level to a mono when the credits began and there was reading of the credits in russian (i believe). These changes in audio lead me to believe that audio for this release was patched together using multiple sources.

The movie was a good blockbuster flick. The storyline was nothing extraordinary. Makes me beleive that Marvel is trying to capitalize on the comic book franchise/movie craze. Hopefully they'll put more thought into a better script next time around. Overall though, the film is a great escape but nothing that will amaze.

Posted by lordtear on 08-01-2005 02:14 AM:

In hopes of finding an excellent reproduction of what I saw in the theater, I downloaded this version. I wasn't really happy with the results. Video is jerky in some parts. Audio is out of sync in several scenes. A good try, but nothing has outdone the XviD version that ADYWAN put out. I downloaded it after this one (making my total FF downloads to 6). If your looking for quality, go with that..... not this one.
