Took this a bit to get posted...

8.5/8/9

It's a great video job on it. Audio isn't bad either, direct. I thought the film was awesome. Glad it's not another mislabelled "TC" crap

Posted by xtpd on 07-18-2006 05:43 AM:

Good to see this on here, watched first about 10 min

v-9, its pretty good, best yet I would say
a-7, I didnt hear any other rls's audio, but it is pretty weak for a TS
m-8.5

The ending was weak. Other than that it was good, very lame "The End".

Same source as Dank release:better encode. Audio is kinda hollow but at least in sync(mostly). Definately best one out so far.

Nice video and very good sound judging from the sample.

Dank wasn't that bad, only for the audio desync throughout disk 2 but this isn't on anything of mine yet

hope to check it out

can somebody post a jpeg? ?

Posted by SkullWolf on 07-18-2006 07:32 AM:

Theres still some compression squelch, but not nearly as bad as the filtered cam audio of previous "TC"s.

props to pukka for this release.

video - 8 - its as good as a maven telesync. probly looks better than maven's superman. even the dark parts are totally watchable.

if only they had cammed it themselves, we could look forward to more of the same from them

audio - 7 - well it sounds awful on my technics seperates with my pc, but when watched on xvid standalone through the tv it sounds 10x better... no real complaints i guess. didnt notice any sync problems at all on the first disk.

movie - watched the first half last night, it was awesome, cant wait to see the rest tonight.

Posted by ForTheBlind on 07-18-2006 09:43 AM:

There are a couple of spots where it goes out of sync for a few seconds, but overall they've done a very nice job. Definitely better than any of the other ones. Couldn't stand the hiss on the dank, glad I waited a few more days for a decent release.

Pukkas NFO states there is 2 minutes missing on ALL releases, so does that include this version, the reason why its an internal?

If so then where is it exactly and does it affect the storyline of the movie much?

I saw on another forum that this one is also missing the 2 minute scene, that its on the 56th minute mark.

quote:
From 'New torrents Info' inside comments - user Myristate
Its the part were Will Turner goes of the black pearl and searches that wreck (when their going for Davy Jones) and the piece thats missing is were he talks to a guy on that wreck, pulling on a rope or something, and he says u 'run onto a cliff mate, and the guy from the wreck says, no, its whats underneath us, and then the flying dutchman ship comes up.

Best of the Best

Pukka did a great job on this xvid. even so, I think they over cropped it, to eliminate the serial watermark. The video/audio is in sync all the way through, plus the video is crisp and clean. For you people ready to play this video in your Tv top Divx player, let ome warn you.... The audio uses vbr and will choke in it.. I will not deduct for this because this is such a nice copy and its refreshing to not see heads bobbing up and down or seeing the inside of someones jacket. Great work Pukka!

Most TS have vbr...

As for rls:

V:9 very watchable
A:6 very bad audio, ive heard cam audio better
M: 8 not a bad sequel

Stop making shit up, they were all cropped because of the CAM source.

Dont hold me to this but i think the missing scene is just before Will Turner boards the ship thats haunted by the sea monster thingy-ma-jigs

But i dont think it ruins the storyline at all

Posted by whitedevil on 07-18-2006 10:35 PM:

danks is wayy better

some of you people must be smoking crack b4 you post.

the video on danks release looks way better than this, colors brighter and clearer.

the audio not even a comparison..yes this is a ts but sounds like a drive in movie theatre.Danks audio again better and clear.

as for the stupid nfo pukka released....

dank and pukka have the same runtimes on both cds. and the only scene missing from dank is the exact scene missing from pukka...so that was total BS..

this one is only better if your gonna watch it on your standalone divx player, because it was enoded with those rules in mind unlike danks...

to be short, im watchin on tv-out with stereo so dank def wins on this one hands down.

Posted by Mailman on 07-18-2006 11:42 PM:

The missing two minutes was like, "Oh man, I missed something good!" Still, I can't believe the difference of this release. I'm happy I downloaded and thank you guys. The video and audio seems to be heads and shoulders above and this is a re-encode? Darn that is some good work.

Audio sounds hollow. Encoded with AC3 5.1 for DVD, didn't expect it to get any better, and it didn't.

Posted by donna785 on 07-19-2006 09:36 PM:

missing audio

after 1 minute the audio dissapears throughout, dissapointing...

Posted by chateau on 07-20-2006 12:34 AM:

the audio is not missing. take some time to figure things out. it's encoded poorly, so that the audio is sent to the rear channels of a surround sound system (and hence, you get nothing from simple stereo), but it's there and you can send it to the front channels easily enough if you know what you're doing. I suggest you look around and you'll find solutions. this is def better than DANK, their sound was not half as good as this, and this is a better encode job on the video too.

8/7(would be higher if they got the surround thing right)/8

Posted by magnet on 07-20-2006 05:40 AM:

Highly decent relase. Saw it in the theater originally and I don't remember any missing scenes from this release. Someone mentioned it may have been around when Will boarded that wrecked ship, I wasn't paying attention at that part so I can'd confirm or deny it. Either way nothing important was missing.

V: 8 - nice, not blurred but I thought the color was lacking as with most TSs I have watched.
A: 7 - a bit quiet but I only noticed a sync issue at the end of the movie.
M: 6 - It would have been a better film if it had ended about 40 minutes earlier. It just kept going and going.

Posted by OAKside on 07-20-2006 07:48 AM:

Big thanks to you guys, gals, and the reviews. You all say pretty much the same thing: great video like dank's, much improved sound with no sync issues. And that is exactly how it is.

Great PUKKA release, get it.

m not really interested, didn't get it for me

Edit: I'd like to add that I was watching this on a TV without stereo sound, I'm sure that will explain why I rated it so high.

M- waiting for that definitive release

Posted by LOLobo on 07-24-2006 10:02 AM:

I should have waited. Now I regret having watched this release.

Pic is watchable, but has some very dark scenes.

Audio seems perfect at first... but after a few minutes, and for the rest of them film, changes to a "lower" and lower quality audio.

Movie - I was expecting something much more impressive. This did not compare to the first, but then again... it is not over. In the fashion of Kill Bill, this too is the first part of a longer squel.

I might watch it again as a dvdrip to get a better feel for the movie.

6/5/7

Click HERE or Dog Eating Bees will eat your family. Seriously.

Posted by hate_this on 07-24-2006 02:41 PM:

The audio source is actually mono.
They tried to create a 'fake stereo' effect but that resulted in audio that is out of phase. (--> therefore the 'rear speaker' effect).

Very bad attempt from them to hide the fact that their audio is mono.

Video is watchable, though.

watched this last night on my parents big screen... sounded great at first then at 2 minutes in all the sound was transferred to the back... it was annoying, but still decent sound.

anyway theres a few cuts here and there in this film, prolly to fit it all in, there the one with will on the ship it never shows him boarding the wreckage or the guy still trying to sail the ship after its been wrecked. also another was at the end when elizabeth was kissing jack and cuffed him, prolly about a 2 sec edit. but still there.

i only noticed 2 out of syncs on this. its when, davey jones takes down the second ship with the kracken, then looks for will. and another at the very very end....

all in all though i give this a 8 all around

Posted by Dark Drake on 07-26-2006 03:32 PM:
