Just got finished examining the release

rating based on a telecine...

Video: 9
Audio: 8
Movie: I will watch it tonight

It was nuked for bad AR but it seems fine to me.

nuked on nforce - bad AR

seems fine for me...

Posted by Vorph on 06-18-2005 06:16 AM:

I've compared the XviD (cd1), SVCD (sample), and DVD-R (sample). I think whoever nuked this for AR reasons didn't notice that there's a slight crop on both the left and right edges (not just the black, it goes into the frame a bit). Perhaps there's an AR issue with standalones that I'm not seeing because I have an HTPC, but I doubt it.

Personally I like the XviD the best of the three. Picture quality is at least as good as the SVCD on just 2 cds, and the audio is basically identical--which is to say pretty damn hollow sounding--on all 3 versions.

As for the DVD-R, I can hardly see the difference between it and the XviD. I don't think the source is clean enough to warrant a DVD worth of bandwidth.

SVCD - 7/7/8
XviD - 8/7/8
DVD - 7/6/8

You say bad AR
I say perfect TC as for usualy with MoF.

Just watched part of it and i must say it is absolutely beautiful and has perfect 16x9 WS picture so i don't know what this Bad AR nuke is about but i'm happy.

As a Telecine

Video - 10

Audio - 9.5

Movie - We'll find out soon but looked funny from skimming

Seems like another lamer attack from "*******" Release is P E R F E C T!

Great Job MoF.

10/9/7

Posted by hajj_3 on 06-18-2005 10:14 AM:

it does seem to have bar a.r. throughout the movie the top of the heads are hardly ever shown. the actors looks taller and slimmer like the video has been stretched to fill the space where the top and bottom have been removed (i.e where the top of the actors heads are).

great video quality though, havent tested sound. gunna watch this movie later on.

Posted by monte1911 on 06-18-2005 10:15 AM:

Jeez, whats up with nuking these quality releases.

Maite, this is a 9/9 (video/audio) fo sure.

If you're terribly worried about the AR just have a look at the sample. Displays well on my 16x9 Laptop.

- oh and as always, big ups to MOF for bringing quality releases to the scene.

Posted by mattmatt02 on 06-18-2005 10:34 AM:

this is verrry nice. just like the svcd.
dont know what the bad a/r nuke is for, its only stretched by a tiny bit, which i wouldnt have even noticed if i hadnt heard about the nuke!

as a tc

9.5/9.5/will watch 2nite

-edit- its literally stretched less than 1cm vertically. the nukers are probably just eagle-eyed perfectionists.

Posted by stezo2k on 06-18-2005 11:41 AM:

The AR is fine as it is, excellent release, quickly done and great quality

9/10/7

Video: Almost DVD quality, as you can expect with a TC

Sound: Excellent, can't fault it, AC3 i think too

Posted by venompowers on 06-18-2005 11:58 AM:

Great quality, i see nothing wrong

Video 9

Sound 9

Movie # havent watched it yet, been waiting for a good TC and now i got one, i just wish sometimes they would skip the crap cams and release the good stuff right off the bat.

Got To Be Kidding

I've been around the scene for 5+ years. Never subscribed to forums and I released all of my shit through friends. A little paranoid. I just have to say that anyone who wants to see this movie from the comfort of their parent's basement would do well to download this version. The quality is the best i've seen. This is how strongly i feel about the matter. Keep up the good work Mof!!! Oh yeah and the sound is 2ch AC3.

watched a little of cd1 and cd2 picture is perfect so is audio, only bad part about it is just a tad to bright other than that best your gona get before retail

video 9/ audio 9/ movie - havent watched yet

and the bad ar doesnt bother this one if u burn it to dvd and put in stand alone it will fix it anyways dont no why they nuke these so much

Posted by glennd on 06-18-2005 03:14 PM:

are some of you blind? or just judge from screenshot?

AR IS CLEARLY WRONG, it was right to nuke it!

Posted by Hanin on 06-18-2005 03:29 PM:

looks good... video is a little washed... typical of these.... sound is hollow but reasonable..... 8/7/?

just finished watching all of it.... still say the sound isn't that great...

8/7/7

movie isn't that good either... jolie's best acting was her nude scenes in Gia....

Sources?

ive always wondered this but when TUN releases a tc svcd, and then MoF releases an xvid tc, are they from the same source or is it a different tc source for each. i only guessed this because MoF's tc releases seem to always get higher ratings than TUN's. i always choose mof anyway because of smaller file size (usually).

if anyone can confirm this (eg by having seen a tun and mof copy of a film then plz let me know as then in future i will know which one to choose)

Posted by dcm386 on 06-18-2005 07:43 PM:

This copy looks real nice. There is a slight AR problem IMO the heads are stretched a little vertically. But this is no problem since I play back on my PC anyways and fixing the AR on media player classic means hitting the "2" button on the keypad a couple times

8/8/?

Because MoFs are XviD & XviD is better quality (Mpeg 4)...

Also, if you own a lite-on LVD2002 stand alone you can correct any AR problems.

Quality is fine on this release, converted to DVD and watched on the big screen.

Picture and sound are fine, colours are clear and bright.

ya dude i noticed the same thing with tun and mof. seems like ether their working together or they just get the same source but this isnt the only groups ive seen this happen with i see this happen a lot. Sometimes youl even have a xvid, svcd, and dvdr with all different groups and all same quality at the same time

Yes--TUN, MoF, and Meteor always use the same source.

AR is a bit off, but who cares.

pic's a bit bright and grainy - but can be fixed with brightness/contrast/sharpness on the tv. looks much better on a standalone than on a monitor.

sound's a bit muffled or something - but stereo is nice.

movie a bit dissapointing, but some cool action scenes.

7.5/7/7

Posted by OneCrazyDJ on 06-19-2005 08:56 AM:

Well first off, all you guys putting these bad comments about this rip that MOF either need to get glasses, or get something bigger then your parents 20 inch tv in the living room. I own a 52 inch hitachi plasma and i just got done watching the movie. No converting whatsoever. I burned the 2 part xvid directly onto a DVD-R and watched it on my philips dvp642. Let me tell you something people, the picture looked so amazing i thought i was watching in the movies. Second of all, the audio was outstanding. I own a bose surround sound. It sounded mint. Yeah it wasn't 7.1 audio, but it was crazy nasty clear and crisp (people should sometime go in with the q-tip instead of just wiping around the ear). VIDEO 9.5/AUDIO 9.0/MOVIE BAD AZZ 10.0

Posted by RiWaLE on 06-19-2005 10:52 AM:

great TC, picture is crispy, AR can be fixed, colours look great on TV and better by lowering blue channel a bit.

Movie is good, nice plot but between action a little bit boring

8/7/6

Posted by in5ane on 06-19-2005 12:14 PM:

Woah, I've never known VCDQ to be so full of crap:

1) The AR is wrong. 100% - I watched it on my widecreen TV in the correct aspect mode, and everyone was obviously taller and thinner. I assume they made this release anamorphic.

2) The sound isn't good. It really doesn't sound direct at all. To the 7.1 Bose guy- wtf you must have a shit set up the rest of the time to think this is good. I tried this on my surround set-up in a ton of modes, Pro Logic this and that- the best was plain old 2ch- and i didn't really notice any stereo effects. Also it was hard to hear to some bits of conversation if they were talking quietly. And yes, i had it turned up loud, but that didn't help because the problem was really the bassy-echoey effect.

3) Picture is good, but blacks seem very washed.

For a TC which should have awesome video and sound, this was a disappointment. Still, it's the best version available, but all the comments here would have you believe it was perfect!

Oh, and the movie SUCKED. My friend hit the nail on the head when we finished watching it: WE HAVE BEEN DUPED INTO WATCHING A CHICK FLICK! Think about it, pretty long but very little action, about marriage and stuff, featuring a goverment team of kickass woman, and wtf Brad Pitt as the guy hero? No way, he's just there for the ladies, a real action hero would have been Willis or someone.

So ratings for TC: 8 for video, 6 for audio, and 4 for movie. I was pretty bored watching it tbh.

to add to my previous post(s), watching it on a standalone is the better option by far. i converted to dvd using vso and its almost perfect quality, excellent colors, very sharp pic and sound seems perfect on an ordinary nicam tv. my pc monitor seems to make black scenes in movies look dark grey so im not sure if the lower ratings that people have been making are based on pc viewing. overall,on a tv is almost perfect and about as good as a tc gets!

Posted by rhyz on 06-19-2005 04:51 PM:

AR isnt bad at all, great release.... After joining and vso-ing it looked and sound good on the stand alone.

Video - Nice, pretty clear, no blurring which I usually notice on Telecines but it does seem slightly stretched on television (look's fine on my monitor though lol)

Audio - Sounded like there's too much bass in it but otherwise it's clear (sorted with GoldWave reducing bass and it make's the vocal's clearer)

Movie - Not bad, not what I expected though.

9/7/9. This is really good. Both video and movie. Sound would be as good o a 1CD

what is expected from a telecine , no issues with AR only a complarison side by side may be noticable , but far best quality would stick with this until dvd screener or rip is out , good sound little bit low on talk scenes with load bass on action , but no real complaints

Pretty Damn Good!

another nice MoF rls, on nforce it was nuked for "bad ar"... but its fine, could be better, but its in sync.

The video is very sexual, as youd expect from MoF TC!

- this release is definatley worth a brew,

Video - 9 Audio - 7 Movie - ?

sounds like you have an audio codec problem..

Audio for this release is AC3 try opening in a dvd software program such as Powerdvd or Windvd..

If you don't have these programs or prefer to use your favorite player download Ac3Filter a free codec which decodes ac3 audio..

Posted by ragneg on 06-23-2005 07:33 AM:

AR is a BIT off, nothing to complain about in such a good quality release though. Audio is quite shitty, but very barable. All in all, a quality TC release. Definately worth the download.

better than the SW Ep III TC that's for sure! No darkness issues. The image itself is pure excellence, absolutely no loss of color and brightness during the explosion scenes. I was impressed. Class TC MoF! Now fix those little things and blow the scene away!

And heres hoping for a batman TC lol.

The quality of the release while playing on my computer is very good: 9/8/8

I burned it to CD, while viewing on my DVP642, the video looks a little pixelated and grainy. Maybe some other 642 owners may comment on this. (No progressive scan)

Not the best I seen, but it's watchable. It's a .avi so you probably got to lighten it up if you watch it on the pc. Although I seen it in the day time so that didn't help with the damn sun light. The vid is a bit faster than the sound at times, but liek I said it's watchable. I have seen much worse. I still enjoyed it enough.
