Wow... what a great release. Crisp video, good audio... I don't have anything else to say on it. Beautiful!

Definitely get this one if you want to watch the movie... no idea what its about

Enjoy!

Looks watchable enough. Although its a bit dreary looking. Dark at the bottom and not very vibrant, may just be the scene tho. Sounds a bit quiet but certainly clear.
Film looks poo.

Perfect release, fun movie.
No audio problems at all, xbox plays it perfectly!

Great release! Quick as hell for something so nice pic is crisp, audio is right on. Now that they are sharing sources with AAV i think we have a lot to look forward to in the TS. They have arrived and they have produced quality. Kudos!

looked at a few rars to judge quality. noticed something weird. when i renamed rar's 49 and 50 of cd1 to mpg and watched them, the audio skipped a lot...like every 4 seconds. i hope this isnt the case with the movie once extracted and all, but it's something for people to check

Posted by DaGamler on 03-06-2005 01:39 AM:

Thumbs up

Just watched cd1 very nice.

It doesn't need to be nuked, I watched the whole thing and the sound was all the way thru. I give it a 8/8/5.. didn't like the movie much tho..

Did you bother to leech the cd and test it for yourself? cause I leeched and unrarred the cd and it plays fine skipped all over and last minute of it and no skips at all. Please give timecode if you did if you didnt stop listening to nukers

watched it all, liked the movie.

From the sound skip, I never noticed it anywhere on CD1 at all...

Watched in standalone, didn't have any audio problems at all, if there was - didn't even notice it. Movie was unusual, it was alright, I liked the "Butterfly Effect" better.

Great quality on this, probably the best TS ive saw since After The Sunset, lets hope we see more of Saosin.

Video is clear and sharp and has good colours, credits at the beginning are centred perfect and are very easy to read, and ive saw worse TC's.

Sound is great through PL2, and ive had no problems so far with it.

Same here no Audio problems at all. The video is nice and no tilt or angle to the cam on this pic. Its a bit darker than i would like, but a damn fine SVCD TS none the less. The movie was NOT the psychological thriller that i was hoping for

vlc media player does lie sometimes..cant play em all just right

video = 7

audio = 8 ...dts but low

movie = 7 ....jacob's ladder ? anyone ? this is less demonic cause the character has more thought bout his existance in both realities...

i previewed the rars with vlc and it had skiping problems...u think that its vlc?anyone can confirm that for sure the audio is not skipping in some parst of cd1?

Theres nothing wrong with the release. It plays fine skip free in every player I have(windvd6,powerdvd6,theatertek, win media, cineplayer, zoomplayer) except VLC. Which doesnt shock me, VLC was fine back when it was the only thing that would play .ts , now its just worthless.

So again the release is fine and shouldve actually been watched before nuking.

Posted by pjfan281 on 03-06-2005 07:03 PM:

interesting. well i'll watch it through my xbox later and see if the audio has issues. most people seem to think its a VLC issue though. kind of weird that VLC would only skip at that end point of cd1 and not the whole thing though.

Yeah this nuke is a bs nuke.. more SHEEP NUKNG or Maybe even Politically motivated nuking - groups don't like competition. I will change my vote after watching the full release on tv

Actually cd1 has bad packets as reported by vcdeasy.

If you attempt to burn to cd and play on a standalone dvd player it may freeze.

Posted by X5-452 on 03-07-2005 06:35 AM:

Has anyone watched the entire release on a stnad-alone yet?

Please, don't comment about skipping or it being perfect until it is fully watched because I haven't heard a "full" description yet.

well for the record i watched the whole film today on my xbox and it was great. no audio problems. cant comment on how it would play on standalone though, but others seem to not have problems

picture a little grainy and dark in scenes.

Going from full release....

The Mandalay intro with the tiger shows just how nice the video was going to be from the jump...Very crisp and clear...kind of dark on the cpu on night scenes but were fine on the t.v.

Audio has a metallic echo sound to it on alot scenes and on others sounded full and very clear...

8/7/? will finish watching movie tomorrow for review on film...

nice job saosin...get your audio plugin right and you'll have sure winner especially with this clear video.

Finally got around to watching this today.

I'll officially confirm that it is VLC Player that is causing the skipping. Whether rar'ed, extracted, or mounted.

Played just fine in WMP.

Video was a tad dark, but all-in-all very good.

Audio was fine.

Movies ending kind of sucked. But, not a bad flick.

watched on a standalone

just watched on my dvd player..plays fine no skips...audio is sync'd nicely..colors abit dark but turning up brightness and contrast fixes that...nice release guys...
FYI..cd2 has about 2seconds of cd1's ending so u might want to edit if u plan on joining the 2 parts..other than that this movie was better than the past few "scare flicks" recently released..

No Problems at all, beautiful TS., very good movie.

Audio does skip both cd1 and cd2 if you watch it with VLC Player. I have no idea why.

However there are no problems on a standalone.

thx for the great rls

Ok confirmed the bad packets on cd1. This alone will not hinder watching on PC or burning to disc.

However for those of us who convert pal2ntsc is where the problems lies.

The bad packets on cd1 will cause it to lockup after conversion.

It should be nuked not for sync issues but bad packets.

This release is not a clean release

i dont think thats a legit reason to nuke a release lol besides, these releases arent truly meant to be converted in any way, esp not pal to ntsc or anything like that

This is one of the best release's in years. It's hard to believe it is only a TS, it looks that good. Nothing else to say, but this group should be #1 in rankings. I don't care what anyone else thinks, this group is putting out the stuff and it's good. Not dark or grainy with good sound.

DOH!, its a very legit reason. The bad packets exists before the conversion.

It fails compliancy!

Not everyone can play PAL or wants to be stuck in front of there PC.

nice work saosin, you guys have your sh*t on lock down.
audio 9.0
video 9.0
movie 8.0
interesting enough movie to make the dl more than worth the bw. again, props to saosin on a wonderful release.

Posted by joeydownload on 03-08-2005 09:49 PM:

If only it was a bit brighter!!!!!!

Sound is spot on so is the angle and overall copy , but just that bit brighter lads and you would be up there with maven and centropy

Im sure give it a bitof time and you will have cracked it!!

as for film , strange and good if you like butterfly effect and other films simular , then you will like this one

for telecync

7/9/7

Posted by (_o_) on 03-09-2005 03:46 PM:

FYI, for those that would like to pal2ntsc procoder will do the trick.

I use TMPGEnc Plus for all my pal2ntsc, avi2mpg, and shrinking 2cds to 1 via kvcd templates and then I run it through VCDeasy to create a dvd-like interactive image file.

However as in this case the ones that fail compliancy you can use Canopus Procoder.

Otherwise this release is very viewable compared to most recent releases.

I give it an 8 across the board.

Posted by Phreaker47 on 03-09-2005 05:05 PM:

Nice release. Played fine on MCE 2005. I've never had any problems playing PAL VCD/SVCD on my dvd players or through the media center PC (what I primarily use now)

However the movie itself was disappointing...

8/8/6

Without spoiling anything, I'd have to say that the big letdown was too much of what happened was never properly explained. You're left just having to accept that certain things happened but you never know exactly why.

Posted by Rizzo182 on 03-10-2005 12:44 AM:

Hi all, i'm new here. Have been reading this site for ages and using it as a guide for what and not what to download. Finally signed up and decided to have my say ! Most peoples reviews here are spot on with this with this one. Video is clear, little dark in places but watchable throughout, audio is fine all the way through, movie was .... well ... average. And worked fine on a standalone, no sync issues.

Posted by Ten98 on 03-12-2005 05:47 PM:

Plays perfectly on XBMC

Controversy and nuking because of a few bad packets that take the wind out of people's sails trying to use weird standalone mpeg playback devices and out of date software players.

Why on earth anyone is still using a standalone DVD player is utterly beyond me.

A Modded Xbox with hookup to your LAN or crossover cable straight to your PC if you don't have a LAN is so much better than anything else you can play downloaded movies with, and with a softmod it's a very cheap solution. Only those crappy Hong Kong DVD/VCD players are cheaper and a lot worse quality.

Come on people. If you download more than 1 movie a month, get yourself a networked modded Xbox plugged into your TV. You'll get XBMC, the world's best media player (in my opinion) which plays just about anything you care to throw at it beautifully, and allows you to scale the picture to exactly fit your screen. Because you can stream any video format direct from your downloads folder, there's no more burning, converting or swapping discs etc... It's what your TV was made for

Best of all, as long as you don't buy any games for it then daddy gates pays you $100 out of his own pocket to own one
