dune vcd smithie version

hi i am new to the forum but have a couple questions for yall.
i got a dub of a vcd of the extended dune and it is in dat files and i need to know if i can change it to mpeg that my dvd vcd player will know it acts like the v-hold is off in the dvd player now when i try it and it is ok on my pc but it is awful grany so to the question is there a way i can fix the dat to mpeg or another file that my player will see and play better and is there a way for me to uncompress it some or change compression on it some so that i can get rid of the blockyness of it btw yall will find that i do alot of posts in rows and am a awful speller so please bear with me any help would be so so nice thanks in advance

the other question i had is that is there a way to smoth out the playback as it is very blocky also what is best format to convert to for my dvd player to read?

XSVCD usually takes out the blockyness.As for best format for your DVD player,I would say whatever works the best.
I use SEVCD,SXVCD,XSVCD,SVCD,VCD so the choice is yours.Some DVD players dont play certain formats.

thanks crazy for that i will look it up the XSVCD that is and yea i know alot of dvd players dont work but it works with the other 75 or so vcd's i got so i assume it should the only problem i can think of is this vcd was never region coded at all dont know if that would cause the v-hold acting problem or not but if changing formats works than i will assume it was just a problem with a coding or something like that anyother ideas fell free to let me know and thanks again

Just a quick hint, please use SOME sort of grammar as its very hard to understand what you are asking for! just splitting it up into sentances will help a lot.

As for region encoding.. vcds don't HAVE region encoding, so it will have nothing to do with that. And its fairly unlikely your DVD player will play XSVCD unless its a far eastern model. Best to check vcdhelper.com/vcdhelp.com (its the same page) and see what your player is capable of playing first.

Out of interest crazy, what player do you have, as thats a hella lotta formats it can handle !!
