IsoNews.com is DOooWN

In case it goes down again,

From http://www.isonews.com:

"The domain and web site were surrendered to U.S. law enforcement pursuant to a federal prosecution and felony plea agreement for conspiracy to violate criminal copyright laws."

on another part

"David Rocci, a.k.a “krazy8,” pled guilty in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on December 19, 2002, to conspiring with others to violate federal copyright laws by illegally importing, marketing, and selling modification, or "mod," chips. "

I was wondering, what is the opinion of VCQ over this especially when the mod chips ads still appear on its front page.

so, is it legal in the US to anounce illegally distributed software?

I was wondering about another thing. It says that these mod chips were illegally imported from UK.

Is it legal in UK to use mod chips?

If you ask me, is more moral to use mod chips than distributing warez.

Can't understand why some companies don't want modifications on their software, it's my hardware, I bought it, I should do whatever I want on it.

These should be open to modifications without these modchips if you ask me.

on a second thought, I guess that's part of the plan to secure exports and imports of countries, e.g. not let illegally imported software from china to be used on any country.

it seems reasonable now

My hunch is that this is a Microsoft (i.e. XBOX) thing. Someone has to have the financial clout to jumpstart a government/legal system that has much more serious and pressing offenses to pursue.

oki for one, if you read anything you will know that he was busted for selling modchips WITH pre-flashed bios. Modchips themselves are not illegal, that software that bypasses the xbox bios is. Yes its legal to announce piracy, its just a news site like cnn, msnbc and so forth. We do not distrubute the software/movies.
