Kill Bill releaased as 2 movies

Looks like kill bill is gonna be released as 2 movies. It has a 3 hour + running time and instead of trimming it, theyre going to release it as 2 movies (damed Miramax). I wanted to see if people thought it was a good idea to keep the movies length but cut it into 2 movies, or trim it down to 1, with hopes of a directors cut on DVD. Also on a side note, i want to start a petition (dont know to who or where) for more so called "directors cut" DVD's to start incorperating deleted scenes into the actual movies running time rather than as extras at the end. Any1 see Natural Born Killers Dir cut or Dogma, it would be a beeter DVD if the scenes were added to the movie rather than just extras/deleted scenes (wich btw never make it to IRC). Just my 2 cents anyway...

Seeing as how I've read that the second act of Kill Bill will probably be released only a few months after the first, that doesn't bother me at all. I think it's the smart move on their part, because otherwise you'll have too many people bitching that it's such a long movie to sit through at the theater.

As for the thing about directors cuts, maybe you'll get your wish because of movies like Kill Bill, other directors under different producers might have been pressured to cut the runtime severely, leaving them no choice but to put the cutting room floor scenes on the dvd. At least this way, you got a nice long runtime and probably not much left out.

As for putting the deleted scenes for every movie in the actual movie on the dvd...I don't like it. Most deleted scenes are deleted for a good reason (It interrupts the mood of the scene, it doesn't make any sense, it makes scenes run too long, it's just a bad scene etc), and some people like to buy the movie they saw on the big screen, not something thats potentially very different. If they would opt for a double feature on the dvd (Theatrical Version and Version with the deleted scenes incorporated), then that would be something.

the only reason they are cutting it isbecause of the amount of interest in this movie.

look @ the matrix 2 & 3, 1 movies split in half!

and they complain about not making money in an age where they cut one good movie into two just to make an extra dollar.
