HD BURN, is just one of them stupid gimmicks that seem a good idea at first, but turn out to be a waste of time!
It stands for High Density Burn, and lets you write 1.4GB of data to a standard CDR. Before you say "wow, thats pretty cool", take a minute to think about this. These HD discs you end up with will only work on the drive that burned them. Therefore they are absoluteley no effing good whatsoever!
You cant really go wrong with big brand names, and Sony = Quality, so if I were you, I would go with that one.
Give the OptoRite a wide berth, anything that needs a gimmick to sell it must be cr*p !
my friend had a problem with the Sony DRU10a, it wont read/burn CDs no more, it cna only read/burn DVDs now. LOL
that sucks about the Sony.
I Have a dru510........lol
if i was to change or buy a new dvd drive, i can't see me changing from the Pioneer i currently run. nice enough drive and i've not had any major probs so can't complain.

Hi,
I am waiting for the dual-layer burners to come out, they are due right after NAB (ApriL/May).
The thing thats going to be interesting over the next few years is the blu-ray disc and burners.
If the dual-layers werent coming out, I would choose the latest Pioneer Drive which does all formats,
