Looking for a Good and Cheap dvd player.
I'ved been reading around for a while now, but i might be getting a little confused about what players are good and which ones are not.
- Heres the lay down, I'ved been using my ps2 to play dvd's and it's just not cutting it, won't play a bunch of them and there just fine. Some are probly pal and my unit doesn't want to play them. i would also want to play the vcd/svcd releases so i don't have to watch them on my pc also.
here's what I'm looking for
- CHEAP just a basic player that does the job GOOD.
- Will play dvds from others regions and pal dvds fine. I'm in USA so NTSC region is what i'm in.
- will play all the regular scene releases just fine, svcd, vcd.
compact size, gotta hide this baby ;-)))
and being able to play DVD rw +- & cdrw, cdr. but that should be typtical
thanks for all your help, do you think they would get suspecious if I bought some dvd's along with it.....

What stinks?

Oh, it's just JC
go for an apex 1110W, or an ad1225
both are compact, less than 50dollars, and will play anything...
dvdrhelp.com has lists of all players and what they can do...
also, why would someone be suspicious if you bought dvds with a dvd player? i think you would garner more attention if you bought dvds with a toaster or something...

Walmart has the apex, they should (hopefully) have some good deals on dvd's. I'ved been checking out some old threads and I'ved cheked out some of the info at dvdrhelp, very usefull.
Will probly be the one I get, I got the cash now, need some more dvd's also.
CyberHome CH-DVD300S
The CyberHome CH-DVD300S is $35.00 @ Best Buy, it Auto-Plays and has GUI menu for data CDR's and data DVDR's for up to 3 SVCDs or 4 VCDs on a single disc and even reads multi-session discs and it supports Resume for VCD's and SVCD's + its even smaller than a Dreamcast
I really dig this thing, i have 3 of them 1 in my hightop conv van, 1 in me and the wifes bedroom and 1 in the kids room and ive never had a prob with any of them EVEN on the ROAD-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If u want a all in 1 DVD/SVCD/DIVX/XVID player PCCLUB has The LITEON - DVD & MPEG4 PLAYER LVD-2002 for $109.00
I have 1 of them on the big screen and i must say the image is very nice and its played everything ive thrown @ it!!!
