saw this..

"Due to the higher processing power required, and the different codecs for playback, its unlikely we'll see a DVD player capable of play DivX for quite a while, if at all. There have been players in development which are supposedly capable, but nothing has ever arisen."

well the philips one is out now, guess you;ll have to change it

i wrote the faq years ago. there's been dozens of players since. the philips one is hardly a revelation.

The FAQ was an excellent reference, and I've seen it copies of it posted on several other forums, but it could do with updating now in places.

I'll have a go at putting some text together, unless there are any objections pHo?
