big problem keyboard wont work
ok i am typing this with the windows on screen keyboard prog. i was installing rise of nations and after that was done i rebooted. it came back on to the xp login screen. and it seemed frozen. i couldnt do anything i rebooted again this time i noticed that i could use the mouse until i pressed a key on the keyboard. so i thought i was fucked cuz i couldn't put in my assword, but a few days ago i installed this remote admin tool. so i went downstairs and got on another comp. i logged in through remote admin removed the password on my user name.
ok then while i'm there i go to the device manager and see that my keyboard has a yellow exclamation point. i'm kind of glad cuz i'm thinking all i have to do is remove and reboot and its fixed, nope i looked at the properties and it has an i\o conflict with my mouse. i go ahead and remove it and rebooted .....it didnt change anything everything still the same as it was. at some point i reboot again this time my mouse doesnt work either. so i go to the back of my pc and i remove the usb to ps2 adapter, plug it in to the usb port. ok now my mouse works again . i look at my device manager and there is a shit load of new devices
i'm going to attach a screenshot and the devices with red dots are new devices
the first 4 hid devices dissappear when i unplug the ps2 keyboard
xp even makes the sound like i removed a usb device ....when i plug it back in they all show back up.
now when i remove all but the last hid/usb devices from device manager, and i remove my usb mouse connector from my pc and plug it back in all of he hid/usb devices come back.
i dont know what is going on any more
any suggestios would be greatly appreciated.....
oh and i know its not the keyboard is i plugged in a different keyboard and it still doesnt work.....

Maybe you could try removing from the device manager all keyboards and mice that are showing, then reboot with only the mouse connected, see what happens, then reboot again with the keyboard connected? Couldn't hurt.. I had a similar problem with a camera and my usb remote control receiver once, I just kept switching things up and rebooting and finally everything was ok.

You did an update of some kind..???
Yes you did.
Roll it back.
o well
Well thanks for your replies, I already tried removing all of the keyboard and mouse devices... that didn't work.. and i wasn't able to roll back anything either... it was grayed out...
I went ahead and reinstalled windows...since i couldn't figure it out... everything is working fine now... kind of wierd....
Thanks though,
