When I played this on my 4:3 TV screen, the AR was off. It should play as 2.35:1, however, it played as 16:9 and some of the picture to the left and right were off the screen. It plays fine on the computer so don't let that fool you.
I opened it in dvdremake to find that the 4:3 conversion was set to both letterbox and pan/scan. I unchecked the pan/scan option, saved it, and burned it to disc. It played perfectly.
There should be an easy way to do the same thing with ifoedit since the problem is within the main title's ifo file.
I can't imagine that I'm the only one with this problem, so I hope this has been of some help.

thanks i can fix this tonight while the gf goes out.

Thanks for that info. You may also want to remove the adverts at the beginning of the disc prior to burning. It has 3 ads that you cant bypass with the menu button. Must be a rental version.

Are you sure your player is set to 4:3 letterbox? Its worth removing the PUOs and or trailers though and adding a volume label.

Video is a little soft, but not supprising @ 3238mb, otherwise appears to be untouched.
