Last Harry Potter book to be split into 2 films
For "Harry Potter" and Hollywood, eight is the magic number.
Warner Bros. Pictures and the producers behind the $4.5-billion film franchise featuring the beloved boy wizard will split the seventh and final novel in the J.K. Rowling series into two films.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" will hit theaters in November 2010, followed by "Part II" in May 2011, a decision that is being met around the world with fans' cheers but also plenty of cynical smirks. The publishing industry is learning to live without new "Potter" releases, but Hollywood just pulled off a trick that will keep its profitable hero on his broom into the next decade.

What a load of bull. They could easily do a 3 hour HP movie instead of splitting. They seem to have had no problems removing stuff from previous books. This is just to make more money. Milk the franchise for all it's got before you can't release any more movies due to no more books.

If I was Daniel Radcliffe I would do the first half of the movie then refuse to finish the second half. Just think of all those geek tears, priceless.

so hell be pushing 30 by 2011 right?
I read about this a week or two ago. I personally don't mind them splitting the movie into two parts. the problem is part 1 is to be released in 2009 and part 2 is to be released in 2011. that's my biggest qualm about it.

I think it's a good idea. At least they dont have to cut so much out this way.
