This doesn't seem real for many reasons.

First off, they spelled axe wrong, in the article it is spelt "ax".

Secondly, and the story makes no sense, the guy was in a wheel chair, then gets out of the wheel chair and somehow crawls to the backyard to get an axe? Then instead of using said axe, the accused then proceeds to eat his son's eye ball? I don't think so.

This smells of bullshitery, to the extreme.
