Did some of those "fuck it, cause it's german"-guys think about the possibility to dub a good Telesync wiht english Sound?

Since VH is a Stephen Sommers movie, I expect complete campiness all the way. I don't expect it to be the movie it could have been if say a Tim Burton did it or someone with more of an edge. VH is gonna have the same cheese as The Mummy movies did. Yes, it will be fun... but it won't actually be that good. I hope Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale will be good enough in it to make it better, even in the hands of Stephen Sommers.

Anyway, since this rls is either a fake and also because I can't find it...

i speak german (of course), english, latin, greek and a little bit
danish, french and greek...oh well...

but i love coming to this forum to check for new movies
that i cannot see in english...since i hate fuckin dubbing...
and german distributors seem to dub all that they can get their filthy hands on...

no actor standing in a studio can talk like e.g. tom hanks did when they did the beach scene in private ryan...you just cant hear the stuff that is going on in the scene in the german version...just an actor speaking his role...

but hey...i just wanted to say that i dont have anything against either languages but i love watching movies in the language they were recorded in.

so ppl saying they dont watch anything they dont understand shouldnt watch chinese, korean or japanese movies as well...
(another problem foreign releases have in america...they just dont watch subtitled movies)

oh well...will wait for a english version of the movie.
and NO...i wont watch it in the theatre...

I realy think I should learn another language but I dont have the time, or care to for that matter. Dosent make me stupid or arrogant. I think people missunderstood the fist post about it being in german. I didnt get that he was being arragant, but then I didnt care.

I just have to agree with Mystic. I would watch this movie if it were in German, because even though I'm Canadian, I speak german french and russian as well. If you don't speak any language other than English, then you're missing out on a major amount of art(film/literature/etc). That's your problem, bitching about it just makes you look stupid.

on this release: maybe it's fake after all? cause it's not mentioned on german 0day nfo sites. or maybe they are just late with updating.

and anyway, this movie is not worth watching, as far as I have heard. the director is a stupid idiot, all of his movies are crap and I've heard that the only reason Beckinsale is in the movie is because she was being laid by the director at that time, so she agreed to play in the movie, but this didn't improve the movie in any way, cause it's simply shit shit shit. And besides, if I remember correctly, they didn't even have enough money, so don't be surprised if the special effects or the locations look cheap.

so maybe it's best to wait till it appears at video rental stores. it's easier to rent than to download. not worth the hassle

As I stated about this movie in another post I made, I don't expect too much out of it. Coming from the director of Deep Rising and The Mummy movies, I expect to see bad humor, bad dialogue, mediocre action, and simply a bad movie. But... I think the movie will be fun anyway if you try to just watch it and know it's gonna suck. The Mummy sucked, but it was still fun to watch 1 time and forget about. I think Van Helsing is gonna be the same thing... just a bunch of cheese.

Just a quick .02 worth.

A very good example (imho) of a reason to watch a movie in another language with English subs is "Das Boat".

When watched in English audio it looses its tempo, but with original language & English subs you get a much better feel for the atmosphere.

btw my mother tounge is English, and I can understand (some) not speak, German, Janenese, & American

Here I was thinking this would be an intelligent discussion about the merits of the Van Helsing movie and we have a bunch of fanboys slagging eachother off over, well, nothing important at all. So you can speak 5 languages. Good for you. Does it have any bearing on the quality of the release AT ALL? No? Then you shouldn't mention it in this part of the forum. You want a slagging match fine, but don't do it here.

Aren't MODs supposed to step in and moderate this kind of thing to keep the board readable for people who are serious about VCD/SVCD releases? I cant believe that one of the mods is actually perpetuating this crap and letting it carry on. I'm not saying that this discussion is entirely without merit, but it should NOT be done in this part of the forum.

Can one of the mods with a clue do us all a favor and move this thread to somewhere else on the board and create a new thread for Van Helsing?
